在植物染色中,有一种神奇的“印刷术”,可以将实物的颜色和形状通过加温或蒸或煮,并利用媒染进行助染固色印制到布料、纸张及皮质的工艺,可以称之为:“转印染”。

转印染,极具个性和特色的染色印花技术,独具的审美意趣,并非大众口味;染色工艺不仅仅萃取的是色素,其形态也活脱脱地寄留下来了,以及那个特定的地域、特定的季节并被一同印记下来,而每一个形态、每一片颜色都纪录着独一无二特属的生命秘语!这一过程,更像是一次生命的归属、一次生命的轮回,叙写着天人合一的诗画。

In plant dyeing, there is a magical "printing technology" that can heat, steam, or boil the colour and shape of the real thing (plants, metal devices, dyed fabrics, etc.). Mordant dyeing is used to help dye and fix the colour of the process to the cloth, paper, and leather, which can be called "transfer dyeing."

Another theory is that plant heat transfer originated from the traditional printing and dyeing process. During this process, it was discovered that the leaves and stems of certain plants could leave a unique mark on the cloth, which inspired people to use plants as tools to create patterns. Over time, this technique was further developed and refined into a unique art form.




这个工艺先由澳大利亚纺织艺术家India Flint(尹杜-弗林特)利用新鲜植物的叶、茎、花和果将其色素及形状染制到布料而开发研制的植物染新工艺;经过更多染艺人士大胆尝试和探索,此工艺的染色素来源已扩展至金属器件、染过色的布料等,利用这些元素,为纺织印染增添了一支极具特色和创意的印花奇葩!


This process was first developed by Australian textile artist India Flint (Yin Du - Flint) using the leaves, stems, flowers and fruits of fresh plants to dye their pigments and shapes into the cloth and develop a new plant dyeing process. After more bold attempts and exploration of dyeing artists, the dye source of this process has been extended to metal devices, dyed fabrics, etc., using these elements to add a very distinctive and creative printing flower for textile printing and dyeing!

Plant heat transfer technology freezes the natural appearance of plants on clothing. Feel the charm of nature. Derived from nature, vegetable dyes contain no synthetic substances and are harmless to human health, reducing the risk of exposure to harmful chemicals for the wearer.


The colours that vegetable dyes impart to fabrics are often soft and natural, with a vegetatively textured texture and charm, presenting a back-to-basic aesthetic. Some plant dyes, such as indigo, can also produce subtle colour changes with changes in light and washing times, adding to the unique charm of clothing.

The low content of plant pigments in plants and the complex extraction process result in a significantly higher production cost of plant dyes than chemically synthesised dyes, which limits their large-scale commercial applications. Plant dyes are mainly used for natural fibres such as cotton, linen, silk, wool, etc., and have poor dyeing effects on synthetic fibres such as polyester and nylon, which limits their application in a variety of textiles.


The plant dyeing process often requires fine control of temperature, pH value, mordant use and other conditions, and the dyeing methods of different plant dyes are different, which increases the difficulty of operation and the requirements for professional knowledge and skills.
