近期,复旦大学附属中学国际部2024-2025学年博雅讲坛系列讲座迎来了四场精彩纷呈的学术盛宴:10月27日,三位重量级嘉宾受邀参加博雅讲坛,他们分别为:复旦大学营养研究院院长高翔教授、资深导演吴沛桥先生,以及复旦大学信息科学与工程学院的郭翌教授;11月1日,来自哈佛医学院和布里格姆妇女医院的陈资副教授作为特邀讲者,也为师生们带来了另一场别开生面的分享。

In the past few weeks, FDIS hosted a series of engaging academic lectures for the 2024-2025 Liberal Arts Academy. On October 27, three distinguished guests were invited: Professor Gao Xiang, Dean of the Institute of Nutrition at Fudan University, Mr. George 

Ng, a seasoned director, and Professor Guo Yi from the School of Information Science and Engineering at Fudan University. On November 1st, Assistant Professor Chen Zi from Harvard Medical School and Brigham and Women's Hospital was also invited as a guest speaker to provide a unique presentation for the faculty and students.

科学研究与日常生活:营养,睡眠与脑健康

Scientific Research and Daily Life: Nutrition, Sleep, and Brain Health

高翔教授在《营养、睡眠和脑健康》讲座中,以其生动有趣的讲解风格,将复杂的科研内容与日常生活紧密相连,让在场师生受益良多。从探讨失眠对饮食习惯的影响,到分析园艺活动对心血管健康的益处,再到研究植物性饮食与帕金森病之间的关系,高教授的演讲不仅涵盖了多个与学生日常生活紧密相关的话题,还介绍了他在快速动眼期睡眠行为障碍、梦游和梦话等方面的研究成果,拓宽了学生的科研视野。通过将深奥的科研知识与生活实例相结合,高教授激发了学生对营养学和睡眠医学的浓厚兴趣,同时也点燃了他们对科研的热情。


In his lecture titled “Nutrition, Sleep, and Brain Health,” Professor Gao used his engaging and lively teaching style to connect complex scientific content with daily life, providing valuable insights to the attending faculty and students. He discussed various topics, from the impact of insomnia on dietary habits to the benefits of gardening activities on cardiovascular health, and even explored the relationship 

between plant-based diets and Parkinson's disease. Professor Gao’s presentation not only covered multiple topics closely related to students’ daily lives but also introduced his research findings on rapid eye movement sleep behavior disorder (RBD), sleepwalking, and talking in one’s sleep, broadening students' research perspectives. By combining profound scientific knowledge with real-life examples, Professor Gao sparked students' interest in nutrition and sleep medicine and ignited their passion for scientific research.

电影导演:故事背后的领航者

Film Director: The Big Boss Behind the Storytelling Process

资深导演吴沛桥先生为国际部师生带来了主题为《电影导演:故事背后的领航者》的精彩讲座。吴导演从自己作为摄像师起步的职业生涯讲起,分享了他早年在加拿大、中国香港、日本和后期在中国内地积累的丰富电视和电影制作经验。他幽默地自称为“故事贩卖机”和“视觉故事的讲述者”,形象地揭开了电影导演这一职业的神秘面纱。在讲座中,吴导演强调了导演作为视觉故事讲述者、团队领导者以及客户服务者的核心角色,通过具体的案例,如演员陈坤发起的《行走的力量》真人秀和演员唐嫣主演的品牌广告,详细解析了不同类型影片的制作流程。最后,他总结了成为一名优秀导演所需具备的基本素质,鼓励学生们勇敢追求梦想。

Mr. George Ng, a seasoned director, delivered an inspiring lecture to the faculty and students titled “Film Director: The Big Boss Behind the Storytelling Process.” Mr. Ng began by discussing his career starting as a cameraman, sharing his extensive experience in television and film production accumulated in his early years in Canada, Hong Kong SAR, Japan, and later in Mainland of China. He humorously referred to himself as a “story vendor” and a “visual storyteller,” vividly unveiling 

the mysteries of the film director's profession. In his lecture, Mr. Ng emphasized the core roles of a director as a visual storyteller, team leader, and client service provider. Through specific case studies, as in the reality show 'The Power of Walking' initiated by actor Chen Kun and the brand advertisement starring actress Tang Yan, he detailed the production processes of different types of films. Finally, he summarized the essential qualities needed to become an excellent director, encouraging students to bravely pursue their dreams.

人工智能:跨学科交叉研究的催化剂

Artificial Intelligence:

Catalyst for Interdisciplinary Research

复旦大学信息科学与工程学院的郭翌教授为大家带来了一场主题为《人工智能驱动跨学科交叉研究》的讲座,并展示了AI在推动跨学科研究中的重要角色。郭教授从人工智能的基础概念出发,逐步深入到AI技术如何革新现代科技创新的方法,特别是其在生命科学、物质科学、大气科学等多个领域的应用。郭教授还分享了复旦大学在这一领域取得的显著成就,比如构建了全球最大的人类表型组跨尺度高维数据库,开发了伏羲气象大模型等。郭教授的演讲不仅提升了学生对AI技术及其应用的认识,还激发了他们对未来科学研究的兴趣。郭教授的演讲将复杂的科学原理以易于理解的方式呈现给了同学们,使他们对人工智能的应用前景有了更加清晰的认识。

Professor Guo Yi from the School of Information Science and Engineering at Fudan University delivered a lecture titled “Artificial Intelligence for Sciences,” showcasing the significant role of AI in promoting interdisciplinary studies. Starting from the basic concepts of artificial intelligence, Professor Guo gradually delved into how AI technology is revolutionizing modern scientific innovation, particularly its applications in life sciences, material sciences, and atmospheric sciences. She also shared Fudan University’s 

remarkable achievements in this field, such as constructing the world's largest cross-scale high-dimensional database of human phenotypes and developing the Fuxi meteorological model. Professor Guo’s presentation not only enhanced students' understanding of AI technology and its applications but also inspired their interest in future scientific research. She presented complex scientific principles in an easily understandable manner, giving students a clearer insight into the potential applications of artificial intelligence.

梦想与挑战:从高考落榜生到普林斯顿和哈佛的旅程

Dreams and Challenges: The Journey of a Former Unsuccessful Examinee to Princeton and Harvard


哈佛医学院的陈资副教授为同学们带来了一场鼓舞人心的演讲——《梦想与挑战:从高考落榜生到普林斯顿和哈佛的旅程》。陈教授不仅分享了他在学术上的成就,还坦诚地讲述了自己从一个因健康问题而遭遇学业挫折的高中生,到成为普林斯顿大学机械与航空航天工程的博士,再到哈佛大学医学院教授的经历。他强调了优化学习方式在推动科学创新中的关键作用,以及如何通过不同领域的知识融合来实现突破。陈教授还现场演唱了自己创作的歌曲,以轻松幽默的方式分享了指导学生成功申请顶级大学的经验。他的演讲传递了一种积极向上、勇于面对挑战的精神。

Assistant professor Chen Zi from Harvard Medical School delivered an inspiring talk titled “Dreams and Challenges: The Journey of a Former Unsuccessful Examinee to Princeton and Harvard.” He shared his academic achievements and candidly recounted his journey from a high school student who faced academic setbacks due to health issues to becoming a Ph.D. in Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering at Princeton University and 

an assistant professor at Harvard Medical School. He emphasized the crucial role of optimizing learning methods in driving scientific innovation and how the integration of knowledge from different fields can lead to breakthroughs. Professor Chen also performed songs he composed, sharing his experiences in guiding students to successfully apply to top universities in a light-hearted and humorous manner. His talk conveyed a spirit of positivity and resilience in the face of challenges.

本期博雅讲坛的四场讲座跨越学科界限,为学生们搭建了一个独特的平台。我们邀请世界顶尖科研工作者,不仅能让学生们近距离感受科学研究的魅力,还能在文化艺术的多元视角中拓展他们的思维,激发创新精神。这种跨学科、跨领域的分享和交流,为学生提供了超越课堂的学习体验,培养了开放且包容的国际视野。

The four lectures in this Liberal Arts Academy series transcended disciplinary boundaries, providing students with a unique platform. By inviting top researchers from around the world, not only can students experience the allure of scientific research up close, but they 

can also expand their thinking and stimulate their innovative spirit through diverse cultural and artistic perspectives. This interdisciplinary and cross-field sharing and communication offered students a learning experience that went beyond the classroom, cultivating an open and inclusive international vision.
