亲爱的同学、老师和家长们：

Dear students, teachers and parents,

大家新年好！

Happy New Year to you all!

2023年的末尾，我问自己，如果只能用一个词来表达这一年最深刻的印象，它是什么呢？或许，“群星闪耀“是最应景的吧。因为，这一年，每个FDIS的人都在学校的舞台上成为一颗闪亮的星星，为FDIS的发展贡献了自己的光和热。

At the end of 2023, I asked myself, if I could only use one phrase to express my deepest impression of this year, what would it be? Perhaps, "brightly shining stars" is the most appropriate. Because this year, everyone at FDIS has become a shining star on the school stage, contributing their light and heat to the development of FDIS.

这些闪亮的星星首先是可爱的学生们，你们出色的才华让丰富多彩的主题活动充满了靓丽的色彩和青春的韵律。在我眼里你们就是最美的小艺术家，你们舞动的美让严冬有了一份暖意。在这些可爱的群星中，让老师们不断收获喜悦和骄傲的，是来自2023届的毕业生，你们获得了来自英国牛津大学、英国剑桥大学、美国约翰霍普金斯大学、美国纽约大学、中国香港大学等世界顶尖院校的录取通知书；68%的申请者进入世界排名前30的学校，96%的申请者进入世界排名前50的学校。2023届是在线上与线下课程交织的三年学习中成长起来的，你们以坚定的意志和品格面对诸多挑战，并在挑战中不断清晰专业目标，知道自己的兴趣所在。

These shining stars are, first of all, our lovely students - your excellent talent makes the various events and activities full of beautiful colors and youthful rhythms. In my eyes, you are the most beautiful young artists, and the beauty of your vigor gives warmth to the harsh winter. Among these lovely stars, what makes our teachers continuously happy and proud is the graduates from the Class of 2023 who received offers from the world's top colleges and universities such as the University of Oxford, the University of Cambridge, Johns Hopkins University, New York University, and the University of Hong Kong, etc.; 68% of the students entered the world's top 30 schools, and 96% of the students entered the world's top 50 schools. The Class of 2023 has grown during the three years of studies intertwined with online and offline experiences. You have faced many challenges with strong will and character, and amid the challenges, you have continued to sharpen your goals and know what you are going to pursue with passion.

这些闪亮的星星也是每一位敬业的老师，你们秉持着“博学、笃志、切问、近思” 的学生培养目标，致力于小学、初中和高中的贯通与衔接，鼓励不同学科间的对话，通过多元评估综合观察学生的成长。正是你们的潜移默化，润物无声让每个学生从幼年走向成年，在复旦精神的滋养之下，形成了具有FDIS独特气质的品格——他们理性又温情，对世界充满着好奇。FDIS青年教师的努力也让国际部收获了复旦大学“青年文明号”的荣耀。

These shining stars also include our dedicated teachers, who uphold the goal of cultivating students following the motto: "Rich in knowledge and tenacious of purposes, inquiring with earnestness and reflecting with self-practice." You are committed to the coherence and articulation of elementary, middle, and high schools, encouraging dialogues among different disciplines, and observing the growth of students through multi-dimensional assessments holistically. It is your efforts that make every student grow from childhood to adulthood, and under the nourishment of the Fudan spirit, they have formed a unique character of FDIS - they are rational, caring, and full of curiosity about the world. The efforts of FDIS's young teachers have also earned the honor of "Youth Model Unit" from Fudan University.

展望2024年，有无数新的可能等待我们去探索。当下，我们已经遇到了革命性的变化——人工智能已深刻地进入我们的日常生活。当我们在担忧科技带来的负面影响的同时，是否可以从更积极的角度去思考——在人工智能逐步成熟的今天，学习该如何发生？当然，无论科技如何发展，人的价值一定是最宝贵的，人类的文明需要我们走出屏幕，前往真实的世界大胆探索，小心求证。

Looking ahead to 2024, we see countless new possibilities waiting to be explored. Right now, we have already encountered revolutionary changes - artificial intelligence has profoundly entered our daily lives. While we worry about the negative impacts of technology, can we think about it from a more positive perspective - how should learning happen today as AI gradually matures? Of course, no matter how technology develops, human values must be the most valuable, and human civilization needs us to step out of the screen and head to the real world to explore boldly and seek evidence carefully.

亲爱的同学、老师和家长们，感谢你们的陪伴和付出，让一年四季温暖如常。“乘风破浪会当时”，新的一年，让我们继续肩负理想，踏浪前行！
