新学年，新征程。本学年，复旦附中国际部将以“探索与创新”为核心主题，引领学生们开启知识的深海探险，激发他们的创新潜能。在开学之初，全体教师团队已经积极投入，通过精心策划的培训、会议和活动，展现了对这一主题的深刻理解及其在教学实践中的有效执行。我们相信，这又将是既富有挑战也充满成就的一学年。
A new academic year is like a new journey. This academic year, FDIS takes "Exploration and Innovation" as its core theme, leading students to embark on a deep adventure of knowledge and stimulating their innovative potential. At the beginning of the school year, the faculty and staff have been actively involved in
developing a deep understanding of this theme and its effective implementation in teaching practice through proposed planned training, meetings, and activities. We believe this will be another academic year full of challenges and achievements.

New Faculty Orientation
8月26日，国际部举办了新教师培训会议。在这场活动中，新教师们不仅通过趣味横生的破冰小游戏迅速拉近了彼此间的距离，更是全面深入地了解了国际部的组织架构、教育理念以及独特的文化特色。现场笑声连连，氛围鼓舞人心。复旦附中副校长兼国际部主任李峻老师热烈地欢迎了各位新老师，并表示“国际部是一所尊重国际标准，凸显中国特色，融入复旦元素的学校，新教师可能会希望学校赋能自己，同时学校也希望新教师们用自己的智慧、活力与思考为学校带来新的气象”。良好的开端是成功的一半，相信新教师的加入将为国际部带来更多元化的探索与实践，共同开创更辉煌的未来。
On August 26th, FDIS held an orientation meeting for new teachers. In this session, the new teachers not only got closer to each other through interesting ice-breaking games but also gained a comprehensive and in-depth understanding of the organizational structure, educational philosophy, and unique cultural characteristics of FDIS. The scene was full of laughter and the
atmosphere was inspiring. Ms.Jun Li, Vice Principal of High School Affiliated to Fudan University (FDFZ) and Director of FDIS, warmly welcomed all the new teachers and said: “FDIS is a school respecting international standards, highlighting Chinese characteristics, and integrating Fudan elements. New teachers may want to be empowered by the school; meanwhile,
we hope new teachers bring new things to the school with their wisdom, vitality, and thoughts as well!”. Well begun is half done. We believe that the new teachers will bring more diversified exploration and practice to FDIS and create a more brilliant future with the returning staff together.

All Faculty Meeting
8月27日，全体教师齐聚一堂，共启新学年。首先，大家共同温习了国际部教育愿景、教育使命以及学习者形象。在会上，老师们也欣喜地了解到，相较于去年，2024届高中毕业生的升学情况以及1-10年级的MAP测试成绩均在不同维度取得了新的突破。同时，迎接WASC年审的准备工作也在如火如荼地进行中。最后，李峻老师提出了新学期寄语：“我们学校秉承复旦精神，学生们展现出IB学习者形象，教师们则具备共学共研的共创能力。学生们的成就就是我们共同努力的结果，大家一起加油！”
On August 27th, all teachers gathered together to prepare to start the new school year. First of all, they reviewed the FDIS vision, mission, and learner profile. During the meeting, teachers were pleased to learn that compared to last year, the 2024 high school graduates and the MAP test scores for grades 1-10 have made breakthroughs in different dimensions. Meanwhile, preparations for the WASC self-study are
in full swing. Finally, Ms. Jun Li gave a message for the new semester: “Our school upholds the spirit of Fudan; our students show the image of IB learners; and our teachers are equipped with the ability of co-creation through co-learning and co-research. The achievements of our students are the result of our joint efforts, so let's work together!”

身心健康发展培训
Workshops on Well-being
8月30日，全体教师参与了社会情感学习培训，这也是我校本学年的重点工作之一。学校心理老师袁倚乔主持了会议，并特别邀请了心理医生张露佳女士为各位老师提供培训。张医生是国家卫健委认证的临床心理治疗师，也是中国心理学会注册心理督导师。本次培训围绕“自我觉察、自我管理、社交觉察、关系技能和担负责任的决策”等五个话题进行了深度探讨。老师们对师生心理健康的维持和发展都颇有心得，许多分享获得了全场共鸣。
On August 30, all teachers participated in a social-emotional learning (SEL) workshop, which is also one of the key tasks of our school this year. School Counselor Ms. Ariel Yuan presided over the meeting and specially invited Dr. Lujia Zhang, a professional psychologist to provide training for teachers. Ms. Zhang is a clinical psychotherapist (National Health Commission Certified), as well as a registered psychological
supervisor of the Chinese Psychological Society. This training conducted in-depth discussions around five topics: self-awareness, self-management, social awareness, relationship skills, and responsible decision-making. The teachers all learned from a lot of experience in maintaining and developing the mental health of teachers and students. Many of their sharing resonated with the audience.

同日，学校也组织了全校范围的急救培训。小学部副主任马斯晨老师主持了本次活动，来自嘉会医疗的两位老师提供了培训。老师们学习了CPR和AED的流程及注意事项，并进行了实操练习。在培训师的指导下，老师们能够正确、熟练地执行急救动作。相信学生们在老师的守护下，会拥有更安全、有保障的学习环境。
On the same day, the school also organized a school-wide first-aid training. Mr. Scott Ma, Deputy Director of ES, presided over this event. Two professionals from Jiahui Medical provided the training. The teachers learned the procedures and precautions of CPR and AED and conducted practical
exercises. Under the guidance of the trainers, teachers were able to perform first-aid actions correctly and skillfully. We believe that students will have a safer and more secure learning environment under the protection of teachers.

Homeroom Teacher and Mentor Meeting
8月28日，中学部召开了全体班主任导师会议。国际部中学部学生事务办公室主管纪晓婷老师对新学年的班主任导师工作进行了全面细致的部署工作。随后，学生事务办公室主管助理李梦瑶老师强调了本学年“探索与创新”的年度主题，并鼓励大家在此主题下，充分发挥聪明才智，与学生齐心协力，共同营造积极正面的班级氛围。
On August 28th, the Middle and High school held a meeting for all homeroom teachers and mentors. Ms. Alting Ji, Dean of the MSHS Student Affairs Office, delivered a comprehensive and detailed presentation on the work of homeroom teachers and mentors in the new school year. Afterwards, Ms.
Rachel Li, Assistant to the Dean of the Student Affairs Office, emphasized the annual theme of “Exploration and Innovation” for this school year and encouraged everyone to give full play to their talents under this theme and work together with students to create a positive homeroom atmosphere.

如何理解认识论（TOK）学习成果展，并在学科课堂中有效支持学生？8月30日，国际部副主任、认识论协调员施谛文老师，携手TOK老师Mr. Matt和Mr. Sam，共同为大家呈现了一场别开生面的培训课程。在这场培训中，每位老师都向本组成员介绍了一件代表自己或暑期生活的物件，并巧妙地结合TOK的概念，为这些物件拟定了共同的主题。接着，老师们从精心准备的五个TOK学习成果展提示题中，挑选出一个最适合的问题进行重新分组并深入讨论，并将讨论成果向大家做出展示。充满创意和吸引力的培训方式让原本看似毫无头绪的TOK课程瞬间变得生动有趣，也让老师们感同身受了学生们在完成此项评估任务的一些挑战。本学年，中学部将进行一系列助力学科教师将TOK融入课程的培训，敬请期待。
How to understand the Theory of Knowledge (TOK) Exhibition and effectively support students in the subject classrooms? On August 30th, Ms. Christine Shi, Deputy Director and TOK Coordinator of FDIS, together with TOK teachers Mr. Matt and Mr. Sam, presented a unique workshop on this driving question. In this training, each teacher introduced an object that represented his/her own life or that of the summer and skillfully combined the concepts of TOK to develop a common theme for these objects. Then, from the five TOK Exhibition prompts that had been
carefully prepared, the teachers selected the most appropriate one for regrouping and in-depth discussion and presented the results of the discussion to the group. The creative and engaging approach to the training instantly made the seemingly clueless TOK course lively and interesting, and allowed the teachers to empathize with some of the challenges that students face in completing this assessment task. The Middle and High School will be conducting a series of training this school year to help teachers integrate TOK into the curriculum.

ES All Teachers Meeting
8月28日，小学部召开全体教师会议。国际部小学部副主任马斯晨老师欢迎小学老师们返校，并欢迎新老师的加入。会议包括了学期初的安排及注意事项。小学部主任助理张曼莉老师、课程协调员黄和平老师、学务主管助理范宇诗老师也为老师们快速进入工作状态提供了充分的支持和提醒。会议最后，马老师动员大家在新学年“探索与创新”的主题下，积极为学校和学生提供积极的环境与活动。
On August 28, the Elementary School held a meeting with all teachers. Mr. Scott Ma, Deputy Director of ES, welcomed the returning teachers and new teachers. The meeting included arrangements and precautions for the beginning of the semester. Ms. Mary Zhang, Director Assistant of ES, Ms. Susan Huang, ES Curriculum Coordinator, and Ms.
Fancy Fan, Assistant to the ES Dean of Student Affairs Office, also provided sufficient support and reminders for the teachers to quickly get to work. At the end of the meeting, Mr. Scott encouraged everyone to actively provide a positive environment and activities for the school and students under the theme of "Exploration and Innovation" in the new academic year.

新学年家委会成立大会
Inaugural PTA Meeting of 2024-2025
2024-2025学年的家委会成立大会于8月29日顺利举行。会上，李峻老师就校园氛围满意度调查、校园硬件设施状况以及新学年不同学段的校运动会部署等几个关键方面进行了发言。随后，家委会会长侯克强先生对过去一年中家委会的工作进行了全面汇报，内容涵盖了校园活动的支持、家长论坛的举办、午餐供应的改善以及募捐义卖等活动的进展。
The inaugural PTA meeting for the 2024-2025 school year was successfully held on August 29th. At the meeting, Ms. Jun Li spoke on several key aspects including the campus atmosphere satisfaction survey, the status of campus facilities, and the sports day arrangement for the new school year. Afterwards,
Mr. Keqiang Hou, President of the PTA, gave a comprehensive report on the work of the PTA in the past year, covering the support of campus activities, the organization of the Parent Forum, the improvement of the lunch supply, and the progress of fund-raising bazaars and other activities.

国际部副主任全正姬老师公布了新一届家委会的成员名单，并与李老师一同为新当选的家委会成员颁发了聘书。连任家委会会长侯克强先生在发表讲话时，从法律、经济和社会等多个层面强调了家委会的重要性，并明确提出了今年家委会的工作目标，即“共同营造和谐健康的家校环境”。
Ms. Caroline Quan, Deputy Director of FDIS, announced the names of the new PTA members and together with Ms. Li, presented the newly elected PTA members with their appointment certificates.
Mr. Keqiang Hou, the reelected President of the PTA, emphasized the importance of the PTA from the legal, economic, and social angles in his speech and clearly stated the goal of this year's PTA, which is to
“work together to create a harmonious and healthy environment for the home and school”.

在接下来的环节中，家委会成员与学校代表就小学部的校园环境建设、外教招聘、校园活动场地支持等具体议题进行了深入细致的交流与讨论。李老师对家委会一贯的大力支持和辛勤工作表示了由衷的感谢。她表示，学生们所展现出的优秀表现正是家校共育的结晶，并希望大家能够继续携手合作，共同推动国际部的校园文化建设不断迈上新的台阶，实现如芝麻开花般的节节高升。
In the following session, PTA members and school representatives had an in-depth and detailed exchange and discussion on specific topics such as the campus environment of the Elementary School, recruitment of foreign teachers, and support for campus activities. Ms. Li expressed her
heartfelt thanks to the PTA for their continuous support and hard work. She said that the excellent performance of the students is the crystallization of the home-school co-education and hoped that we can continue to work together to promote the culture of FDIS to a new level.
