祥龙迎春 师生迎新——复旦附中国际部2023-24学年第二学期开学季

2月18日上午，复旦附中国际部全体教职员工的新学期见面会在325校区118教室举行。

复旦附中副校长、国际部主任李峻老师向教职工们送出了新年祝愿，对大家在过去一个学期中的卓越工作表达了认可和感谢。她也赞扬了在上学期教学、教研工作中有突出成就的教师及学科组，希望大家能够互相学习，再接再厉。同时，李老师也激励教师们勇于接受新的挑战，加深与世界、与城市、与科技之间的联系，并鼓励学生也如此，在新的一年再创佳绩。

On the morning of 18th February, the new semester meeting for all the teaching staff of FDIS was held in Room 118 of Campus 325.

Ms. Li Jun, Vice Principal of FDFZ and Director of FDIS, sent her New Year wishes to the staff and expressed her recognition and gratitude for their excellent work in the past semester. She praised the teachers and subject groups who had outstanding achievements in teaching, teaching and research work in the last semester, and hoped that they could learn from each other and keep up the good work. At the same time, Ms. Li inspired teachers to take on new challenges and deepen their connection with the world, the city, and technology, and encouraged students to do the same, and to achieve further success in the new year.

在会议的第二部分，教师代表们分享了寒假期间的校外实践及参会经历。施谛文、赵婷玉老师分享了在2024年国际科学与创新大赛（ISEF）担任评委的收获及启发；Mr.Delwar和Mr. Sam则分享了2024年世界数字教育大会的与会观感。同侪共促，发展与共，新的学期，新的一年，复旦附中国际部将焕然启程，凌云前行。

In the second part of the meeting, teacher representatives shared their experiences of out-of-school training and practice during the winter holidays. Ms. Christine and Ms. Tingyu shared their harvest and inspiration from ISEF; Mr. Delwar, Mr. Soong shared their impressions of attending the 2024 World Digital Education Conference. With the new semester and the new year, FDIS will start the journey with a new look and move forward to the bright future!

典礼主持人Ms. Fancy宣布开学典礼正式开始后，小学部主任助理Ms. Eva向学生们预告了新学期的重要时间节点，希望学生们做好准备，昂首迈进新的一年。

After the host Ms. Fancy announced the official start of the opening ceremony, Ms. Eva, Assistant of ES Director reminded the students about the key times of the new semester and hoped that the students would be ready to enter the new year with their heads held high.

学生代表G5 Andy为师生们献上了精彩的演讲，从他攀登玉龙雪山的心路历程中，师生们见证了笃志与意志在生活中的真实映照。

G5 Andy, the student representative, gave a wonderful speech. From his journey of climbing Jade Dragon Snow Mountain, teachers and students witnessed the true reflection of determination and will in life.

小学部副主任Mr.Scott，小学部课程协调员Ms. Susan从学术、纪律、活动的角度向学生们解读了新学期的“笃志与意志”，相信学生们能在充分的自我管理与良好的家校合作中更好地成长。

Mr. Scott, Deputy Director of ES, and Ms. Susan, ES Curriculum Coordinator, explained to the students the new term's "determination and resilience" from the perspectives of academics, discipline, and activities, believing that the students will grow up better with full self-management and good cooperation between home and school.

典礼前班主任老师们带来的史莱姆，在学校心理咨询老师Ms. Ariel组织的活动中揭开了谜底，在轻松愉快的活动中，师生们加深了“与情绪和平相处”的理解。

The Slimes brought by the classroom teachers before the ceremony was unveiled in an activity organised by Ms. Ariel, the school counselor in which students and teachers deepened their understanding of "making peace with emotions" in a fun and relaxing way.

接着，小学课程协调员Ms. West作为教师代表演讲，通过亲身经历，讲述了笃志与意志在困难和挑战中的神奇力量以及最终带来的美妙体验，学生们获益良多。

Then, ES Curriculum Coordinator, Ms. West spoke as a teacher's representative, and the students benefited from her personal experience of the amazing power of determination and will in the face of difficulties and challenges, and the wonderful experience it ultimately brings.

开学典礼的尾声，小学部主任Ms. Scarlett讲话，介绍了加入小学部大家庭的新学生。她以二年级一位学生的榜样事例激励大家胸怀笃志与意志不懈努力，在新学期获得更大的进步与成就！

At the end of the ceremony, Ms. Scarlett, ES Director, spoke and introduced the new students who have joined the elementary school of FDIS this semester She used the example of a Grade 2 student to inspire us all to work hard with determination and resilience to achieve even greater progress and success in the new term!

中学部的暖场视频主题是全校师生的寒假国内外之旅。画面中的师生们在不同的国家与地区留下了快乐的身影。假期旅行让大家得到了充分的放松，让我们充满能量地开启新学期的篇章。

The theme of the warm-up video of the middle&high school was the winter holiday trips of the teachers and students at home and abroad. The teachers and students in the video left happy figures in different countries and regions. The holiday trip gave everyone a full relaxation and made us full of energy to start the chapter of the new semester.

Sharing of Winter Holiday Activities

G7 Vera同学在寒假期间参加了“云顶杯”第四届国际静安全国青少年滑雪系列赛，并取得了第六名的好成绩。视频中的Vera身姿矫健，动作优美，令人赞叹。她感慨地说到：”尽管自己是所在组中经验最少的参赛者，但勇于挑战自我，创下个人最佳纪录同样是一种胜利，笃志与意志的品质会继续激励我不断进步，攀登高峰。”

G7 Vera took part in the Genting Cup 4th International Jing'an National Junior Ski Series during the winter holidays and finished in 6th place. In the video, Vera's posture and movements are amazing. She said with emotion, "Although I was the least experienced participant in my group, the courage to challenge myself and set a personal best is also a victory, and the quality of determination and will will continue to inspire me to continue to make progress and climb to the top."

现在正值龙年正月，年味还在，属龙的老师们上台给大家拜年啦！他们分享了关于中国属相文化的传统习俗，同时也说出了自己的新年目标。赵婷玉老师希望自己坚持多做善事，继续回馈社会；Kyle老师希望自己坚持学习中国文化，对中国有更多的了解；顾元浩老师希望自己能够不断挑战自我，突破自我，完善自我。

It's the first month of the Lunar Calender Year of the Dragon and the flavour of the year is still around, so the teachers whose zodiac sign is dragon came up to the stage to pay tribute to the New Year! They shared the traditional customs of the Chinese culture of the Chinese zodiac and also stated their New Year's goals. Ms. Tingyu Zhao hopes that she will continue to do more good deeds and continue to give back to the society; Mr. Kyle hopes that he will continue to learn about Chinese culture and understand more about China; Mr. George Gu hopes that he will continue to challenge himself.

激动人心的颁奖时刻到来啦！首先，薛骁南老师公布了上海市教委举办的国际学校视频制作大赛（主题：发现上海之美）我校学生获奖情况。接下来，教务项目主管史无双老师、教务主管庞丽丽老师、主任助理孙霞老师、学务主管纪晓婷老师分别公布了我校获荣誉奖、高级荣誉奖、学术优秀奖、全能优胜奖的学生名单，副主任全正姬老师、副主任施谛文老师上台颁奖。

It was an exciting time for the awards! Firstly, Mr Thomas Xue announced the winners of the Shanghai International School Video Production Competition (theme: Discovering the Beauty of Shanghai)organized by Shanghai Municipal Education Commission. Next, Ms. Lily Shi, Academic Project Manager, Ms. Lili Pang, Dean of Academic Office, Ms. Sophia Sun, Assistant to the Director, and Ms. Alting Ji, Dean of Student Affairs Office, announced the names of the students who won the Honor Roll, High Honor Roll, Academic Excellence, and Seal Prize, and the awards were presented by the Deputy Director, Ms. Caroline Quan, and the Deputy Director, Ms. Christine Shi.

学生会主席团的核心成员G9 Lucy An, G10 Aimi Ma, G11 Cherilyn Sun, G11 Danni Huang上台发言。她们分享了自己在寒假中关于“笃志与意志”的所见所闻，从中获得深刻感悟，使得自己的意志变得更坚定，更强大。除了分享寒假见闻外，她们还公布了即将举行的学生会选举的要求，并对即将举办的一系列活动进行预告。她们诚挚地希望同学们能够积极参与，共同为校园生活增添更多的色彩。

G9 Lucy An, G10 Aimi Ma, G11 Cherilyn Sun and G11 Danni Huang, the core members of SGA, took the stage to speak. They shared what they had seen and heard during the winter holidays about "determination and resilience", from which they gained deep insights and made their wills stronger and more determined. In addition to sharing their experiences during the winter holidays, they also announced the requirements for the upcoming SGA election and gave a preview of a series of upcoming events. They sincerely hope that students can actively participate and add more colors to the campus life.

Ms Jennifer Lu and Ms Betty Huang from College Counseling Office presented the results of our Year 12 students' university applications to date, which were very impressive. They said that while it was exciting to receive an offer of a place, the application process was tough and the final year students showed great resilience during this period, demonstrating the qualities of determination and resilience.

全优学生G11 Jessica同学和G8 Emmy同学结合学年主题“笃志与意志”分享了彼此的生活经历。Jessica同学表示：“笃志和意志让我克服练琴的乏味和苦涩，看到了辛勤背后的意义。每当我帮助Mustang其他成员练习曲目时，每每想到乐队第一次的演出时，我都能充满力量，继续前行。” Emmy同学表达了相同的观点，她说：“笃志和意志让我挑战自己，无惧困难，通过坚持练习把体育从弱项变成了强项，甚至在体育课篮球测试中拿了满分。我也渐渐发现了自己在体育上的热情和天赋，因为热爱，所以坚持。”

Seal prize students G11 Jessica and G8 Emmy shared their life experiences in relation to the theme of the school year, "Determination and Resilience". Jessica said, "My determination and resilience have helped me overcome the tedium and bitterness of practising the piano and see the meaning behind my hard work. Every time I help the other members of Mustang practice their repertoire, and every time I think about the band's first performance, I am empowered to keep going." Emmy expressed the same viewpoint, saying, "Determination and Resilience allowed me to challenge myself and be fearless of difficulties, turning PE from a weakness to a strength by practising consistently, and even getting a perfect score in my PE basketball test. I also gradually discovered my passion and talent in sports, and persevered because I loved it."

New Semester Message

在开学典礼的尾声，李峻老师以“笃志与意志”为主题，为新学期发表了鼓舞人心的寄语。她通过讲述“野马效应”和“牙膏销售”两个生动的事例，向我们传达了一个深刻的道理：面对学习和生活中的挑战时，我们不应感到恐惧，而应主动向亲朋好友寻求支持与帮助，大家一起集思广益，这样可以避免过多的情绪消耗，同时将挑战拆解成一个个小难题，再逐一克服，就会最终获得胜利。

At the end of the ceremony, Ms Jun Li gave an inspiring message for the new semester with the theme of "determination and resilience". She conveyed a profound truth to us by telling two vivid examples of "Mustang Effect" and "Toothpaste Sales": when facing challenges in learning and life, we should not be afraid, but should take the initiative to seek support and help from our friends and relatives, so that we can avoid too many challenges. We should actively seek support and help from friends and family and brainstorm together, so as to avoid too much emotional exhaustion, and at the same time break down the challenges into small problems and overcome them one by one, and then we will win in the end.
