经过激烈角逐，中国选手贾俄仁加夺得男子马拉松项目冠军，埃塞俄比亚选手Adisu Tesfahun Tafere、中国选手杨绍辉分获二、三名；女子马拉松冠军则归属于埃塞俄比亚选手 Derartu Hailu Gerefa，肯尼亚选手Pamela Rotich、中国选手潘素芳分获二、三名 。
China's Jia E'renjia claimed the men's marathon championship, with Ethiopia's Adisu Tesfahun Tafere and China's Yang Shaohui taking second and third places, respectively.
