〇《外篇二·為謝司馬撰楚辭章句序》：“夫人即清如伯夷，未有一咳唾間即寓懷高餓；忠如比干，未有一便旋間亦留意格君。”按快語而亦確語，已稍窺 Marcel Proust 所謂 “Les Intermittences du coeur”, E.M. Forster 所謂 “the intermittence of our own minds” (R.-M. Albérès, Histoire du Roman moderne, p.165; Forster, Aspects of the Novel, p.123)。彼好言杜陵飯不忘君、劍南臥皆愛國，以至劇本小說中正、反面人物者，概乎未解此理也。
