On the morning of September 22, 2024, eight students from the Hangzhou World Foreign Language International School, brimming with a thirst for knowledge and curiosity about the unknown world, embarked on a micro-study tour to the United Kingdom. Before their departure, the beloved Principal Stella gave the children her earnest advice and bid them farewell.    

2024年9月22日清晨，来自杭州世外外籍人员子女学校的八位学生，怀揣着对知识的渴望和对未知世界的好奇，踏上了前往英国的微游学之旅。出发之前，敬爱的陈校长对孩子们进行了殷殷嘱托，为孩子们践行。

Sherborne Prep is a private preparatory school in Dorset, England, offering kindergarten to Year 8 education. Part of the renowned Sherborne School, it is an inclusive preparatory school for both boys and girls, while the latter is a historic all-boys school.

Sherborne Prep是一所位于英国多塞特郡的私立预备学校，为学生提供从幼儿园到13岁（Year 8）的教育。这所学校是著名的Sherborne学校的一部分，后者是一所历史悠久的男校，而Sherborne Prep则是一所男女同校的预备学校。

The school is known for its outstanding academic achievements, a wide range of extracurricular activities, and comprehensive care for its students. It provides a comprehensive curriculum designed to stimulate students’ interests and potential while fostering their independent thinking and creativity. 

学校以其卓越的学术成就、丰富的课外活动以及对学生全面的关怀而著称。它提供了一个全面的课程体系，旨在激发学生的兴趣和潜能，同时培养他们的独立思考和创造力。

The students spent an unforgettable two-week period at the historic Sherborne Prep school. This study abroad program was not only a full-immersion academic exchange opportunity, but also, an excellent experience to embrace British culture and lifestyle, offering a unique perspective for observation and learning.

    同学们在拥有悠久历史的Sherborne Pre学校度过一段为期两周的难忘时光。这次游学项目不仅仅是一次全浸润式学术交流机会，它更是一次深入了解英国文化和生活方式的绝佳体验，为孩子们提供了一个独特的视角去观察和学习。

Embodying the Spirit

During their time at Sherborne, students engaged in a variety of courses and activities. In the process of discussing academic issues within their respective cultural backgrounds, PYP learners demonstrated how “knowledgeable” they are. 

They engaged in profound communication and interaction with their buddies, reflecting the Learner Profile of "Knowledgeable": they explored academic issues within their respective cultural backgrounds.

在Sherborne的学习与生活期间，学生们参与了多种多样的课程与活动。他们与英国同龄人进行了深入的交流与互动，体现了PYP十大培养目标之一的“知识渊博”特质：在各自的文化背景下共同探讨学术问题。

 In the realm of language learning, they not only improved their English language skills but also experienced the British education system and teaching methods. Throughout these experiences, students fully exhibited the attributes of "Risk Taker" and "Communicator": they learned how to express themselves in a multicultural environment and how to engage in effective teamwork. As students committed to self-reflection, through writing diaries and participating in group discussions, they deepened their understanding of their learning processes.

在语言学习领域，他们不仅掌握了英语语言技能，还体验了英国的教育体系与教学方法。在这些经历中，学生们充分展现了培养目标中的“勇于尝试”和“善于交流”：他们学会了如何在多元文化的环境中表达自己，如何在团队合作中发挥自己的作用。作为终身成长的世外学子，孩子们保持“及时反思”，通过撰写日记和参与小组讨论，深化了对自我学习过程的理解。

Experiencing a Colorful World

In addition to academic enrichment, the children immersed themselves in the rich cultural heritage of the United Kingdom. They visited the world-renowned University of Oxford, strolling through its ancient campus and experiencing the perfect blend of academic atmosphere and historical depth. 

除了学术上的丰富收获，孩子们还沉浸在英国深厚的文化遗产之中。他们踏访了世界知名的牛津大学，漫步于其古老校园，领略了学术氛围与历史沉淀的完美融合。

In London, the children explored iconic landmarks such as the British Museum and the London Eye, immersing themselves in the city's vibrant and multicultural modernity. Standing by the River Thames, they gazed upon London's skyline, feeling the harmonious interweaving of history and modernity. 

在伦敦，孩子们游历了大英博物馆、伦敦眼等标志性建筑，亲身体验了这座现代都市的繁华与多元文化。他们站在泰晤士河畔，仰望伦敦的天际线，感受着历史与现代的和谐交织。

Moreover, the children toured the historic city of Bath, explored Bath Abbey, and delved into the story of the city, savouring the classical charm of Britain. In the presence of these ancient buildings that have witnessed countless historical moments, they seemed to travel through time, touching the very threads of history.

此外，孩子们还探访了具有悠久历史的巴斯，探索了巴斯大教堂，并深入了解了巴斯这个城市的故事，领略了英国的古典魅力。在这些见证了无数历史时刻的古老建筑面前，他们仿佛穿越了时空，触摸到了历史的脉络。

Gaining Growth Experiences

The recent micro-study tour to the UK was an all-encompassing growth experience. The students not only made significant progress in the academic field but also developed independence and self-management skills. They mastered the art of time management and learned to cope with various unexpected situations in unfamiliar environments. Moreover, this experience ignited their curiosity and passion for exploration of the world, laying a solid foundation for their future academic pursuits and life journeys. Through this educational tour, the students learned how to become responsible, empathetic, and globally-minded citizens of the world. These invaluable experiences will undoubtedly become a precious asset in their lives.

此次英国微游学之旅，是一次全方位的成长体验。学生们不仅在学术领域取得了显著进步，还培养了独立性和自我管理能力。他们掌握了时间规划的技巧，学会了在陌生的环境中应对各种突发状况。此外，这次经历点燃了他们对世界的求知欲和探索热情，为他们未来的学术追求和生活旅程奠定了坚实的基础。通过这次游学，学生们学会了如何成为一个具有责任感、同情心以及全球视野的世界公民。这些宝贵的经历无疑将成为他们人生中的一笔宝贵财富。
