Paragraph 1: As the students worked, Mary observed them with curiosity.
Unfettered, the students spread out and started creating like wildflowers in a sunlit slope rather than in a farmer’s greenhouse where monotony and economy ruled. The classroom buzzed with excitement as they started to let their imagination take centerstage. Trying to dial back her presence, Mary turned around just in time to catch Akila rising from her table, holding a box of crayons and joining the crowd. Somehow, the classroom struck Mary like a miniature version of Athens Academy where liberated minds roamed freely. Soon, as the countdown ticked to just five minutes left, nearly every student had put down their finishing touches.
Paragraph 2: Mary stood back and surveyed the creation.
It was indeed a scene to behold. Tina’s layback country life was surrounded by fields, forests and streams while in Michael’s futuristic city, robots traveled among humans on a bustling street with Mary’s big yard where children played joyfully together, basking in a “cool” sun. All the little worlds, including Akila’s starry night, were connected by rainbows. Realizing that she could never teach this, Mary finally understood unlike scientific endeavors where the followers should stand on the shoulders of the giants, here in art classes, it is by stepping away that a new world can be found.
