"Hurry up, Colin!" Mum shouted from the hallway. "If we don't get going now, you will be late for school."
Colin was sitting on the edge of his bed, looking down at his feet. Taking a deep breath, Colin slowly stood up and collected his schoolbooks. After putting them in his bag, he took a long look around his bedroom and went to join his mum.
"Are you all right, Colin?" Mum asked with obvious concern. "Your father and I have noticed you've become very quiet recently and that you don't laugh as much as you used to. Is everything OK at school?"
Colin looked into his mum's troubled face as she put a comforting arm around his shoulders." Don't worry, Mum. Everything's good," he replied with a weak smile. Mum drove Colin to school, who sat in the back seat in silence all the way. Colin watched the world pass by, deep in thought.
He used to love going to school and he was always the one who would tell his mum to hurry up. As he stared out of the car window, he remembered that there was a time when he couldn't wait to get to school and meet up with his friends.
But things were different now. Colin didn't understand why things had changed or what he had done wrong. All he knew was that a group of older boys had started to make fun of him. They would call him names and push him when nobody was looking. They would hide his books so that he would get into trouble with his teachers. One day, they even put his bag outside when it was raining so that all his books got wet. When the car eventually arrived at the school, Colin quickly brushed away silent tears and slowly got out of the car.
Paragraph 1: As Colin walked into the school, he decided that he must do something to change the situation.
Paragraph 2: From then on, Colin felt a change in his life.
