Para 1: On his next trip, he brought a big fish as a gift.
As I admired its glistening scales, I called the kids, who were preparing for school, and their eyes widened at the sight. After the man left for his treatment, the children eagerly promised to cook the fish upon returning. That afternoon, its delicious scent filled the kitchen, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere at dinner with what felt like an old friend. Afterward, the children invited him to sleep in their room for more fishing stories. By morning, just as he left with a warm smile, my neighbor approached, frowning.
Para 2: My neighbor asked me, "Did you keep that awful- looking man? You can lose roomers (房客) by putting up such people!"
Somehow, those words reminded me of my own initial hesitation so I recounted how the man’s pleasant voice and humble nature melted my doubts, winning our hearts and my children's affection. Seeing my neighbor’s face turning red after hearing the story, I quickly suggested us having dinner together the next time, and to my surprise, my neighbor offered to bring wine. After waving goodbye, I looked across at the bustling hospital where souls cross paths and disappear in silence, thinking how comforting it is to have someone looking out for you and wishes to see you again.
