开学第三周起，针对今年刚入学的小班孩子和其他年级新生，学前部的班主任老师进行了一对一家长会。结合大家的反馈，我们举行了这次新生家长工作坊，帮助家长和孩子们更好地适应IB学校的学习与生活。
Starting in the third week of school, the homeroom teachers in CBS Foundation arranged one-on-one parent meetings of new students in Preschool, as well as those in K1 and K2 who recently enrolled. By considering everyone's feedback, a new parent workshop was developed to help both parents and children acclimate to the academic and social aspects of the IB curriculum.

In the beginning of the workshop, the principal of CBS Foundation Ms. Joyce, who has a wealth of teaching experience and always dedicates herself to being at the forefront of education, provided a deep insight into the core values and educational philosophy of the International Baccalaureate Organization(IB). Drawing from her experience as a registered IB trainer, Ms. Joyce highlighted the importance of equipping students with an international perspective, cross-cultural communication skills, and innovative thinking in our increasingly globalized world. Guided by this vision, the CBS Foundation is dedicated to cultivating an open, inclusive, and diverse learning environment for children.
工作坊的核心议题聚焦于IB的超学科的课程组织形式。教学主任和班主任们以生动的案例和深入浅出的讲解，向家长们展示了超学科教学如何打破传统学科壁垒，用共同的主题将知识、技能与价值观融为一体。这种教学方式不仅能够激发学生的学习兴趣和创造力，还能够培养他们解决复杂问题的能力，为他们成为未来社会的领袖人物奠定坚实的基础。
The primary theme of the workshop centered around the International Baccalaureate's transdisciplinary education approach. The academic coordinators and homeroom teachers presented engaging examples and thorough explanations to demonstrate to parents how transdisciplinary approach dismantles traditional subject boundaries, and effectively integrates knowledge, skills and values using common themes. Not only does this approach ignite students' enthusiasm for learning and foster creativity, but it also enhances their ability to tackle complex problems, setting a strong foundation for them to emerge as leaders in tomorrow's society.
在谈及IB的学习者培养目标时，老师强调了这十大核心品质：善于交流、懂得关爱、坚持原则、积极探究、及时反思、勤于思考、胸襟开阔、全面发展、知识渊博、勇于尝试，不仅是学生个人成长的基石，也是学校全人教育理念的具体体现。家长们深刻感受到，这些品质与他们的期望相契合，将贯穿于孩子在校学习的每一个阶段，为他们未来的人生道路提供强大的精神支撑和行动指南。
In discussing the learner profile, the teacher highlighted these ten essential attributes: Communicator, Caring, Principled, Inquiry, Reflective, Thinker, Open-minded, Balanced, Knowledgeable, and Risk-Taker, are not just fundamental to students' personal growth, but also reflect the school's holistic education philosophy. Parents recognize that these attributes are matching with their expectation, will permeate every phase of their children's learning journey, offering robust spiritual guidance and guiding principles for their future endeavors.
英语教学作为学校的特色之一，也在此次工作坊中得到了全面展示。学部坚持循序渐进的学习节奏，通过日常交流、拼读训练、书写技能培养以及丰富的英语歌曲、诗歌和表演等活动，为学生打造一个全方位、多维度的英语学习环境。这种寓教于乐的教学方式不仅提高了学生的英语水平，还激发了他们对英语文化的兴趣和热爱。
English instruction stands out as a defining characteristic of our school, and this was clearly showcased in the workshop. Following a progression from Preschool to K2, CBS Foundation adheres to a gradual pace of English learning. This approach encompasses daily conversations, spelling practice, writing skill enhancement, and a diverse range of captivating English songs, poems, and performances. This enjoyable approach not only enhances students' proficiency in English but also sparks their interest and appreciation for English culture.

The highlight of the event was the interaction between home and school. Parents were encouraged to engage in group discussions, focused on enhancing their children's development through home-school collaboration. By sharing their educational philosophies and aspirations, parents and schools fostered a stronger bond and trust. There was a consensus that home-school co-education plays a crucial role in supporting the holistic growth of children. Together, both teachers and parents can pave the way for a brighter future for our children.
