In order to further standardize students' English writing, cultivate students' good writing habits, and improve students' interest and self-confidence in English learning, CBS recently held an English calligraphy competition for primary school students. This competition aims to give students a stage to show themselves through the form of competition, create a learning atmosphere of mutual exchange and learn from each other, and effectively improve students' writing skills.
随着本学期第一次书法比赛的举行，我们心爱的小学部走廊里、空气中，都弥漫着兴奋的气氛。本次比赛分四轮比拼，比赛要求学生按照字母、单词、句子的正确形式书写，无拼写错误；要求书写规范、卷面整洁、字迹清晰、美观大方；要求体现英语书写的特点，鼓励孩子在书写中展示创意和个性特点。
In the halls of our beloved primary section, excitement filled the air as the first round of the handwriting competition for this semester took place. This marks the beginning of a series of events with a total of four rounds planned for this year. This initiative aims to encourage our young learners to continuously improve their penmanship and take pride in their written work.
这一轮的主题巧妙地与我们学校的体育日以及当前的探究单元联系在一起，这种联系为比赛增添了额外的意义。孩子们一边进行探究活动，一边学会思考团队合作和体育精神的价值，同时增强了自身的社交和沟通技能。
The topics for this round were cleverly linked to our school's sports day as well as current units of inquiry. This connection added an extra layer of significance and relevance to the competition. By integrating the themes of sports and handwriting with our inquiry, we got to see our students reflect on the values of teamwork and sportsmanship, while strengthening their social and communication skills.
现在，让我们把焦点放在杰出的获奖者身上。比赛过程中，同学们积极参与，展现了极高的热情和认真的态度。经过激烈的角逐，在一至五年级的十二个班级中，每班有两名学生脱颖而出，获得了最高的票数。他们在书写中展现出了个人与众不同的风采、注重细节的品质。工整的书写对于小学生来说至关重要。它能培养纪律意识，并通过养成良好的学习习惯来提高学习成绩。
Now, let's shine a spotlight on our remarkable winners. In each of the twelve classes, from grades one to five, two students emerged victorious as they received the highest number of votes from their peers. Their hard work, dedication, and attention to detail were evident in their beautiful handwriting.Neat handwriting is of utmost importance for primary-aged students. It instils a sense of discipline and helps improve academic performance by creating excellent study habits. Correct sitting posture while writing not only helps prevent physical issues like back pain and poor eyesight but also enables better concentration while a proper pen grip reduces strain on the hand enabling children to write for longer periods without fatigue.
