In the autumn of October, CBS ushered in the much-anticipated International Culture Week, which is also a traditional festival of the whole school of CBS. The purpose is to let students have a global vision, understand, accept, tolerate and feel the diverse cultures on the earth together, and cultivate them to become confident and capable world citizens.

During this international week, every department held special activities, and students from senior high school closely followed current events and explored 17 UN development goals in depth. 2024年10月24日上午，学前部举办了主题为“小小旅行者的世界探险”的文化活动，作为国际文化周的重要组成部分，旨在培养幼儿对各国文化的理解与尊重。活动以教师团队的精彩开场舞蹈拉开帷幕，优雅的舞姿和欢快的旋律点燃了现场热情。各班级代表奥地利、乌兹别克斯坦、埃及、南非、巴西、印度、美国和肯尼亚等国家，呈现出多姿多彩的文化盛宴，孩子们通过音乐和舞蹈展现了各国的独特魅力，赢得了观众的热烈掌声。在活动的高潮部分，高中生分享了他们的国际交流体验，重点介绍了意大利和墨西哥的文化，丰富了孩子们的视野，激发了他们的探索欲。此外，活动设有美食市集和各国特色游戏市集。孩子们在美食市集中品尝了来自世界各地的美味，体验了不同文化的饮食风情；在游戏市集中，他们欢声笑语，积极参与特色游戏，沉浸在文化的欢乐中。此次活动不仅加深了孩子们对世界文化的理解，也增强了他们的团队合作精神与表达能力。
On the morning of October 24, 2024, the Foundations Department held its annual International Cultural event, themed this year as "Little Travelers' World Adventure." This event was a significant part of International Cultural Week at CBS, designed to foster children's appreciation and respect for various cultures around the globe. Foundations classes represented eight countries: Austria, Uzbekistan, Egypt, South Africa, Brazil, India, the United States, and Kenya, creating a lively cultural celebration. The children showcased the distinctive charm of each nation through music and dance, earning enthusiastic applause from the audience. The festivities commenced with a captivating opening dance performed by the Foundations Teachers’ dance team, whose graceful movements and vibrant music invigorated the atmosphere. At the peak of the event, high school students from CBS shared their experiences from international exchanges, particularly emphasizing Italian and Mexican cultures. Their narratives broadened the children's perspectives and sparked curiosity about exploring different cultures. Additionally, the event featured a food market and a games market, each reflecting the characteristics of the various countries represented. Inside the food market, children sampled a variety of delicious dishes from around the globe while learning about diverse culinary traditions. The games market resonated with laughter as everyone engaged in unique games, fully immersing themselves in the joy of cultural exploration. Overall, this event not only enriched the children's understanding of global cultures but also nurtured their teamwork spirit and communication skills.

活动前，每个班级各自选择了一个不同的国家，在班级老师的引导下，孩子们了解、学习和探索这个国家的文化、历史和特色，并用内容丰富的海报和班级表演来呈现。当天，12个班级代表12个不同的国家进行布展，还带来了令人难忘的表演，歌曲、舞蹈、诗朗诵，一个个精彩的节目让人应接不暇，PYP的老师们同样也是多才多艺，共同演唱了歌曲《少年》，孩子们在短短一天的时间里尽情畅游了世界各地，展示了多元且具有包容性的文化。沉浸式的体验活动为孩子们营造了各国和谐共处的氛围，提升了学生尊重文化多样性，参与建设人类命运共同体的意识与担当。
Before the activity, each class selected a different country, under the guidance of the class teacher. The children understood, studied and explored the culture, history and characteristics of their chosen countries, and presented them with rich posters and class performances. On the same day, 12 classes represented 12 different countries to organize the exhibition, but also brought a variety of performances, songs, dances, poetry recitation, and a wonderful program to make people overwhelmed. PYP teachers also joined the performance, showing some versatility, singing the Chinese song "Youth". It demonstrates a diverse and inclusive culture. 10月23日下午，初中部模拟法庭在学校小剧场正式开庭。本次庭审主要包括开庭宣告、法庭调查、法庭辩论、开庭宣判和法官问答五个环节。本次活动以现场开庭的形式，展示了以中国为代表的大陆法系和以美国为代表的英美法系的异同，给师生们带来了一场中西法系大碰撞的法律体验。
On Wednesday afternoon, October 23, the CBS MYP hosted a captivating mock trial that showcased the fascinating differences between China's civil law system and the United States' common law system. This event unfolded as a simulated courtroom drama, with opening, investigation, legal arguments, and a closing statement. The mock trial served as a valuable platform for exploring the nuances of legal systems and their impact on justice.
同时，通过本次模拟法庭活动，CBS呼吁大家：对校园霸凌零容忍。我们要约束自我行为，严守道德和法律底线，与他人友好相处。同时，在受到不法侵害时，善用法律的武器，要采取恰当的方式保护自身权益。
Moreover, this mock trial serves as a reminder from MYP that we must maintain a zero-tolerance policy toward bullying. It's essential to conduct ourselves with respect, abiding by both moral and legal principles, and fostering positive relationships with our peers. Additionally, if you ever find yourself the target of bullying or other forms of harassment, remember that you have the right to seek legal protection.
周五，初中部举行了 “东西方文化大碰撞”的主题集会。活动现场，西方油画和东方水墨画交相辉映。伴随着国际乐队一曲活力四射的《黄色》，本次集会拉开帷幕。各班同学身着特色服饰，演绎了一场别开生面的走秀。最后,“跨越时空的对话”戏剧倾情上演，将现场气氛推向高潮。此次集会，同学们深刻领悟到文化交融的深远意义。
On Friday, middle school had an "East Meets West" assembly. The event showcased arts from both Eastern and Western cultures. Students dressed up as book characters and showed themselves in a fashion show. The highlight was an exciting drama play that took the students on a journey across time and space. This assembly helped the students better understand the beauty and diversity of different cultures.

During High School's International Culture Week, students were encouraged to broaden their global perspective and sense of responsibility through art and cultural exchange. One of the highlights of the week was a graffiti exhibition centered on the United Nations' 17 Sustainable Development Goals. All high school students expressed their understanding of issues such as climate change, social equity, and global education through creative graffiti, calling attention to the future of our planet. The exhibition not only showcased the younger generation's deep reflections on global issues but also provided a platform for them to display their creativity. Additionally, the week featured a highly engaging Moot United nations round table. Students took on the roles of country representatives, engaging in in-depth discussions on international issues, ranging from diplomatic strategies to policy responses. The debates were intense and educational, highlighting the students' critical thinking and communication skills.

The final event, the Global University Introduction, attracted considerable attention from both students and parents. Representatives from top universities shared the latest trends and strategies in the admissions process, providing valuable insights into global university systems. This session offered students the opportunity to better understand global higher education and plan their academic and career paths.
Through this weeks events, students not only enriched their school experience but also deepened their global responsibility and appreciation for diverse cultures.
