On the journey west, Tang Seng passed through a range of mountains.
唐僧西行的途中，经过连绵的群山。
Suddenly, cries echoed from the mountains: “Master, save me!”
忽然，山里传来阵阵叫声：“师父救我！”
The voice echoed in the valley, startling Tang Seng.
这声音在山谷间回荡，让唐僧不禁胆战心惊。
He looked in the direction of the sound and saw a monkey trapped under a rock, only its head visible, waving frantically at him and shouting, “Master, come quickly and save me!”
他顺着声音的方向望去，只见山下压着一只猴子，那猴子仅露出脑袋，却一个劲儿地朝着唐僧招手，嘴里不停地喊着：“师父，快过来，快来救我呀。”
Though frightened, Tang Seng gathered his courage and approached the foot of the mountain, cautiously asking, “Who are you? How did you end up trapped under this rock? How can I save you?”
唐僧虽然心里害怕，但还是鼓起勇气来到山脚下，小心翼翼地问道：“你是谁啊？为什么会被压在这山下呢？而且，我又该怎么救你呢？”
The monkey replied, “Master, I am Sun Wukong, the Great Sage Equal to Heaven, who was trapped here by the Buddha five hundred years ago.
那猴子回答道：“师父啊，我就是五百年前被佛祖压在这山脚下的齐天大圣孙悟空。
Not long ago, Guanyin Bodhisattva told me to protect the scripture seeker from the East on their journey to the West, so I have been eagerly waiting for your arrival to ensure your success.”
不久之前，观音菩萨曾对我讲，要我保护东土来的取经人前往西天取经，如此才能修成正果。所以，我日日夜夜都在盼望着您的到来，好保您去西天取经啊。”
Tang Seng asked, “How can I rescue you?”
唐僧又问道：“那我要怎样才能救你呢？”
The monkey quickly said, “Master, you just need to remove the golden tablet from the top of the mountain, and I will be able to come out.”
猴子连忙说：“师父，您只要把山顶上的那张金字帖揭下来，我就能出来了。”
Upon hearing this, Tang Seng climbed to the mountain top and indeed saw a golden tablet pressing down on it.
唐僧听闻后，便爬上山顶，果然看到山顶上压着一张金字帖。
Tang Seng prayed sincerely to the sky, “If I am fated to be a master to this divine monkey, I will be able to remove this tablet; if not, it will surely stay.”
唐僧对着天空虔诚地祷告：“如果我和这神猴有师徒的缘分，那我就能揭下此帖；要是没有，那必然揭不下。”
After saying this, he gently lifted it, and the golden tablet flew up into the sky.
说完，他伸手轻轻一揭，那金字帖就飘飞起来，直上天空。
Seeing the tablet removed, Wukong excitedly shouted, “Master, step back! I’m coming out!”
悟空看到帖子被揭掉了，兴奋地朝着唐僧大喊：“师父，您走远一些，我要出来啦。”
Tang Seng obediently walked back about seven or eight miles.
唐僧听话地往后走了大概七八里路。
Then came a tremendous sound, and the monkey leaped out from the mountain.
紧接着，只听见一声惊天动地的巨响，那猴子就从山中蹦跳了出来。
In an instant, the monkey knelt before Tang Seng, respectfully bowing and saying, “Master, I am out now.”
转眼间，猴子已经跪在唐僧面前，恭恭敬敬地磕头说道：“师父，我出来了。”
Seeing this, Tang Seng named the monkey Sun Xingzhe.
唐僧见此情形，便给这猴子取了个名字叫孙行者。
Then, the master and disciple set off together on their journey to the West.
而后，师徒二人便一同踏上了西行取经的道路。
