Sun Wukong and Tang Sanzang arrived at a mountain gate and looked up to see a temple. On the sign were four large characters – "Guanyin Temple."
悟空师徒二人来到一座山门前，抬眼便望见一座寺院，上面赫然写着四个大字 ——“观音禅院”。
Tang Sanzang, seeing this, quickly knelt down and bowed devoutly. Sun Wukong, however, leaped into the temple with a single bound.
唐僧见此，赶忙五体投地，虔诚拜了下去。而孙悟空却一脚跳进寺内。
After dinner, a few monks in the temple began to compare their wealth. Not to be outdone, Sun Wukong said to his master, "Master, bring out our cassock and let them have a look."
待到吃过晚饭，寺里几个和尚相互斗富起来。孙悟空不甘示弱，对师父说道：“师父，把我们的袈裟拿来让他们瞧瞧。”
He then opened the bundle, and in an instant, a radiant glow filled the room, casting light everywhere.
随后便打开包袱，刹那间，霞光万丈，满屋生辉。
The old monk, seeing such a fine cassock, couldn't help but develop an evil intention, plotting to steal it.
那老和尚见此袈裟，不禁起了歹心，妄图谋占袈裟。
He ordered several hundred monks: "At midnight, each of you bring a bundle of firewood and surround the meditation room, then set it on fire."
他吩咐几百和尚：在三更时分，一人一捆柴，将禅房围住烧毁。
In the middle of the night, Sun Wukong was awakened by the sound of footsteps. He looked up and saw that the firewood had been piled as high as a mountain around the meditation room.
半夜时分，孙悟空被脚步声惊醒，抬眼一看，禅房周围的柴堆得如一座山般高。
The monks were preparing to light the fire. Sun Wukong, calm and collected, borrowed a fireproof shield from the Heavenly King Guangmu, covering the meditation room and the horse securely.
和尚们正准备点火烧禅房。孙悟空不慌不忙，向广目天王借了避火罩儿，将禅房和马儿罩得严严实实。
He then hid nearby and watched the scene unfold.
自己则躲在一边静观其变。
The monks set the fire, but with a light blow from Sun Wukong, the flames turned into a raging wind.
和尚点了火，孙悟空轻轻吹一口气，瞬间变作一股狂风。
In no time, the fire surged several feet high, engulfing the entire Guanyin Temple in flames.
一时间，火舌蹿出几丈高，把观音禅院烧成一片火海。
Sadly, the monks who had intended to harm others ended up destroying themselves.
可怜这些和尚，想害别人不成，最终却害了自己。
The fire raged until dawn, and aside from the meditation room protected by the fireproof shield, all the temple buildings were reduced to ashes.
大火一直烧到天明，除了被避火罩儿护住的禅房，寺庙里所有的房间都化为了灰烬。
