Origin (and other four poems)
I left my body like someone leaving a burning house. My body was no longer a safe place. Not anymore...
And suddenly all the birds fell from the sky, in mid-flight, the white ones and the black ones, the big ones and the small ones, those that fly high and those that glide low to the ground… The clouds fall, the sun hides, the moon does not appear... Cars stop, walkers petrify, the roofs of the houses collapse, and, all of the sudden, all the girls burst into flames, the daughters and granddaughters, the sisters and nieces, the cousins and goddaughters… All the girls burning in their homes, their rooms, their beds. In every house, every village, every town flames arise, one after another, flames calling for help... and you hear them and try to scream...
but you are only a girl and girls on fire can not scream….

To fly
from mouth to mouth

in cold beds

with multiple abysses

in a thousand confusions

The Will to Believe
Because I believe in grief
because I believe in sadness…
Because I believe in beauty
because I believe in courage…
Because I believe in the word
because I believe in love…
but
above all

because I want to believe
in you and me

to draw the vowels of your name
without getting an answer…
Nor does it matter that my fingertips
keep wanting to land on your skin…

起因（外四首）
我离开了我的身躯，正如有人离开燃烧的居所。我的身体不再是安全之地，不再是……
突然，飞行途中的鸟儿都从天空坠落，白鸟和黑鸟，大鸟和小鸟，那些高飞的和在低空滑向地面的……云朵坠落，太阳隐匿，月亮无踪……车辆停止，行人呆若木鸡，房舍的屋顶坍塌，而且，突然之间，所有女孩都变成了火舌，女儿和孙女，姐妹和侄女，表姐妹、堂姐妹和教女……所有女孩都在她们的家里，她们的房间，她们的床上燃烧。火焰在每一处房舍，每一个村庄，每一个城镇升腾，一个接着一个，火焰在呼救……你听见她们的呼救，试图呼喊……
但你只是一个女孩儿，而着火的女孩无法呼喊……
爱慕
我是如此的爱你
如此的需要你
我曾梦想太多
而如今
我哭泣……
太多……
回归
在口唇间
疾驰
在诸多冷榻
着陆
伴随各种危险绝境
前行
陷入无数
困惑
诸如此类……
……回到我身边吧
信任的意愿
因为我相信哀伤
因为我相信悲戚……
因为我相信美丽
因为我相信勇气……
因为我相信诺言
因为我相信爱情……
然而
最重要的
最重要的是……
我需要对你我
有信心

我的嘴唇不断吐出你名字的元音
却得不到回应
没关系……
我的指尖一直想触落你的肌肤……
太遥远……

我所有的痛苦就是渴望在你的怀抱歇息

About the author
Alexandra Nicod is a Swiss-Spanish poetess, playwright and actress who was born in 1971 in Biel/Bienne/Switzerland and lives in Madrid/Spain. She speaks fluently German, Spanish, French as well as English and holds two Bachelor degrees, one in Translation from the Dolmetscherschule (DOZ) Zurich/Switzerland and another one in Dramatic Art from the Real Escuela Superior de Arte Dramático (RESAD) Madrid/Spain. She is the author of the collection of poems “Deshielo”(Huerga&Fierro, 2024) as well as various theater plays performed in theaters in Spain and she has performed in both theater and film in Switzerland, France and Spain with important directors. As a poet she has participated in many poetry readings and international poetry festivals as for example in Spain, Marocco as well as in Greece and her poems have been translated and published in several languages (e.g. English, French, Hungarian, Kurdish and Vietnamese). Alexandra Nicod is a multifaceted artist and poet, member of the Spanish General Society of Authors and Publishers (SGAE), the Spanish Center for Reprographic Rights (CEDRO), the Spanish Actors Union and the Foundation for the Management of Actors' Image Rights (AISGE).
