走向未来诗学

——诗集《摇滚学院与科学猫》的创作特征概论

   

    在一个对象化、物化和异化泛滥的时代,当代世界新诗,正处于一种诗歌本身拒予和离弃诗人自身的被离状态。然而依然有孤勇者背负执念与救赎,执着以诗歌的方式重新发起追问和反思,让存在(诗思)回响在存在者(诗人)的生活和思想之中。Angel.XJ新诗集《摇滚学院与科学猫》的诞生,标志着她将是一个“最具将来性的诗人”,用荷尔德林话来说,就是用诗歌塑造和建立人类栖居于这个大地。


异质:语言的边界与时空的指向


    Angel.XJ作为中英双语诗人在科学、文学和艺术领域间的某种“跨语际实践”,其“跨界性与实验性”的新诗创作,无疑具有令人惊喜而期待的价值。抽象是形式艺术的最高境界,诗人创造了一些奇特字组,以自由、通感、错配、混融、背离的无序组合,拓展了语义的时空与精神指向,让身体和灵魂都进入到一个超然、抽象与超象的世界。一切艺术都向抽象靠拢。诗人用新的写作技巧对语言结构进行大胆突破,使语言自身具有多重的想象空间,让语言的内涵复杂化,让语言的指向陌生化,让语言的张力最大化,从“边界”到“无限”。

    文化异质是多种文化并存、融合、涵化后产生的新美感。新生代诗人群体正在解构以欧美中心主义视角下的“一元文化主体”表达,努力趋向文化全球化时代的转文化交流和“多元文化主体”生成。Angel.XJ的诗歌抽离和变革了传统文字的能指和所指,由此产生新的陌生而抽象的语义,这种怪异而荒诞的新语言表述,可谓精深高妙而意味悠长。

    中国当代诗歌评论家耿占春教授曾说,语言、身体和社会之间有一种能量的流转和循环。也就是说,主体其实可以进行元素化的分解和降解,“语言”把个体关联到人类存在的无限空间。Angel.XJ的诗歌,处处充满了无限的象征与神秘,充分体现她对世界与语言本质的探索与颠覆。她的诗歌语言能力散发出一种魔力,通过象征和语言的力量,揭示了隐藏在现象背后的本质与神秘,并赋予万物一种新的意义和内涵,让词语的物像景观幻化成诗意的梦幻场域,让诗歌在无限想象力的场域中迸发自身的声、色、光、电与影,从而获得一种超现实、跨时空的宏大体验境界。

    Angel.XJ的诗歌‌《摇滚学院与科学猫》中的“摇滚学院”和“科学猫”是对现代生活和文化冲突的一种隐喻。学院摇滚通常具有深刻的内涵和社会意识,核心特质是独立或另类。摇滚乐是用垮掉的方式崛起,在架构文学与音乐的“彼此成就”时,台上的猫不再是异类,而是一面自我审视的镜子。诗人通过“语言”把个体关联到社会和历史。语言本身可以成为“他者”。语言和万物可以互为主体,以全新的文字组合和创意意境,给人以耳目一新的美感。她的诗句常以非传统语法和逻辑的组合,却能够碰撞出新的语意空间,影印着后现代诗歌如同超现实主义、荒诞派、野兽派、意识流的伤痕。在陌生与晦涩,甚至离奇古怪,奥妙梦幻之中,呈现一种崭新的视觉空间,抽象、深刻而且辽阔:自我与他者在互为对象化,在争夺自由力量的“冲突”中,形成了一种“相互”关系。她的诗歌从世俗困境的重力中获得一种面向未来超拔的升力。


异化:形而上与形而下的交响和合奏


    Angel.XJ作为拥有前瞻性视野与国际化背景的前卫诗人,具有鲜明的开放性和兼容性,她的诗作大量借鉴和使用歌剧、舞剧、音乐剧的艺术形式和表现方式,这种艺术形式的互动性和创造性,‌戏剧和歌剧在史诗中扮演了重要的角色,它们不仅是史诗的传播媒介,也是史诗内容和主题的延伸和深化,是科学与艺术的诗意合奏,达到诗与艺的“和而不同”审美效应。

    如列维纳斯所言,与存在的关系并不是一种与他者本身的关系,而是把他者转变为同一。言语交换的过程意味着让“异”进入、让“异”停留并实现异与同的交往互动。梦境与现实交织,幻象与自我反思并存,诗人以其敏锐的洞察力和非凡的创造力,将复杂的心理现象转化为生动的诗意场景,在视觉与思维的双重冲击下,体验到前所未有的心灵震撼。诗人总能为这些奇特的意境找到最为完美的词汇:“从露台上眺望充满想象”,“在九月意念可以让河水倒流”,“他们要在夜晚相拥、相守多久才不会被冲走?”,“在肉体被埋葬后,梦还继续活着”,“天穹至高处那株罂粟树,挣脱出太古时间胶囊”。诗人通过精妙提取她个人生活与个性化语言的嘲讽、对抗或戏谑,并在存疑中裸露最终的诚实和领悟:“在阳光里跳舞就像在人群中游泳/你只是其中的一个数字/每一个人的圣徒/又是自己的叛徒”。此外,诗歌中的人体摄影集、双手、指缝等元素,诗歌中的“降E,C升”和“平均律,生肖自然”等词汇,特别具有典型的象征意义,丰富并深化诗歌的意象和精神。异化在此于诗人而言,既是一种创作工具,又是一种创新路径,诗人从外化与未知世界的自我弥合和重新确立,以无限的想象力和创造力,给我们的新诗创作乃至诗歌生命与诗歌时来带来全新的驱动力。


异类:诗的生殖化审美器官

       

   “只有在世界之外,才能感受世界的存在”。诗人试图通过一种行星思维,俯瞰人类的巨大视野。随着AI时代的到来,我以为,诗歌将是诗人的一个突破了生存功能的审美器官。诗歌必将与人工智能、生物医学工程等一起,有机器官与无机器的结合共创人类的未来。康德所谓的“审美判断力”,感性、理性、超感等感官职能,通过人工智能的算力,完成诗歌意境的无限性组合与生成,这种“嫁接”、“缝补”与“弥合”,将是未来诗学的主题。

    未来诗学的一切都是围绕着诗歌的“缺席或在场”而展开。在先行者的探索中给出了未来诗学的基本向度:行动、技术与机器。它不仅是对当下诗歌困境与危机的应对,而且将诞生新的诗歌形态。其创作技术多样性的主张,实际上蕴含通往未来诗学的秘径。创作技术的“一”意味着历史的终结,创作技术的“多”,我们与诗歌才有新的生命和未来。

    Angel.XJ在《摇滚学院与科学猫》诗集中探讨了摇滚乐与科学之间的某种联系或对比,诗人运用各种象征性的场景和意象来构建诗歌的框架,如摇滚乐队的演出、科学实验的过程、猫咪的灵动与神秘等,意味着诗歌在探讨自由与理性、激情与冷静之间的平衡或冲突。Angel.XJ的诗作聚焦人性、社会、自然、平行宇宙,未来时空、科幻星球等宏大主题,通过诗歌来传达自己对于世界、人生和宇宙所有的裂罅与冲突;纠缠与妥协;矛盾与悖论,以求突破内在世界的封闭性与超越世界的阻隔性,给荒原的世界与人间以诗意补偿,也是更高维度的还原与复归。

    未来诗学并非是一种时间向度,而是诗歌创作的一种新形态和新路径,更是新诗创作回到诗歌本身的一种旨归。Angel.XJ的诗歌创作具有鲜明的“跨界诗歌”特征,“跨界诗歌”应当是未来诗学的一种方向与雏形,它既传承了“新诗戏剧化”的传统,又为新诗创作拓辟了一种新的范式与生态。在“跨界诗歌”的实验中,无论是诗与戏剧的“跨界”,还是诗歌与摇滚等歌舞形式的“混搭”,或是诗、音乐、舞蹈、表演等各种艺术的“交响”,都是Angel.XJ对未来诗学的实验性探索,无疑这是一种只身前往探险之行,以独树一帜的文化诗学“现象的存在”方式,走向未来诗学“存在的现象”。

Towards a Future Poetics

  —An overview of the creative features of the poetry collection “Rock Academy and Science Cat”

       

In an era of rampant objectification, reification and alienation, contemporary world new poetry is in a state of being rejected and abandoned by poetry itself. However, there are still lonely and brave people who bear obsession and redemption, and persist in re-initiating questioning and reflection in the form of poetry, so that existence (poetic thinking) can resonate in the life and thoughts of the existent (poet). The birth of Angel.XJ’s new poetry collection “Rock Academy and Science Cat” marks that she will be a “most future-oriented poet”. According to Hölderlin’s words, it is to use poetry to shape and establish human habitation on this earth.


Heterogeneity: The boundaries of language and the direction of time and space


Angel.XJ is a bilingual poet in Chinese and English who practices a kind of “cross-language practice” in the fields of science, literature and art. His “cross-border and experimental” new poetry creation is undoubtedly of surprising and expected value. Abstraction is the highest realm of formal art. The poet has created some strange word groups, which expand the time and space of semantics and the spiritual orientation with disordered combinations of freedom, synesthesia, mismatch, blending and deviation, allowing the body and soul to enter a transcendent, abstract and super-image world. All art is moving towards abstraction. The poet uses new writing techniques to make bold breakthroughs in the language structure, giving the language itself multiple imagination spaces, complicating the connotation of the language, alienating the direction of the language, and maximizing the tension of the language, from “boundary” to “infinity”.

Culturally heterogeneity is a new aesthetic feeling produced by the coexistence, integration and assimilation of multiple cultures. The new generation of poets is deconstructing the expression of “mono-cultural subject” from the perspective of Euro-American centrism, and striving to move towards cultural exchange and the generation of “multicultural subject” in the era of cultural globalization. Angel.XJ’s poetry extracts and transforms the signifier and signified of traditional words, thus generating new strange and abstract semantics. This weird and absurd new language expression can be described as profound and profound with long-lasting meaning.

  Professor Geng Zhanchun, a contemporary Chinese poetry critic, once said that there is a flow and cycle of energy between language, body and society. In other words, the subject can actually be decomposed and degraded into elements, and “language” connects the individual to the infinite space of human existence. Liao Xijuan (Pseudonym Angel.XJ ) poetry contains rich and infinite symbols and mysteries, fully reflecting her exploration and subversion of the nature of the world and language. Her poetic language ability exudes a kind of magic. Through the power of symbols and language, it reveals the essence and mystery hidden behind the phenomenon, and gives everything a new meaning and connotation, allowing the image landscape of words to transform into a poetic dream field, allowing poetry to burst out its own sound, color, light, electricity and shadow in the field of infinite imagination, thereby obtaining a surreal, cross-time and space grand experience realm.

The “Rock Academy” and “Science Cat” in Angel.XJ’s poem, “Rock Academy and Science Cat” are metaphors for modern life and cultural conflicts. College rock usually has profound connotations and social consciousness, and its core characteristics are independence or alternative. Rock music rose in a beat way. When structuring the “mutual achievement” of literature and music, the cat on the stage is no longer an alien, but a mirror for self-examination. The poet connects the individual to society and history through “language”. Language itself can become “other”. Language and everything can be the subject of each other, with a brand-new combination of words and creative artistic conception, giving people a refreshing aesthetic feeling. Her poems often use a combination of non-traditional grammar and logic, but they can collide with new semantic space, photocopying the scars of postmodern poetry such as surrealism, absurdism, fauvism, and stream of consciousness. In the strangeness and obscurity, even bizarre and weird, mysterious and dreamy, a new visual space is presented, which is abstract, profound and vast: the self and the other are mutually objectified, and in the “conflict” for the power of freedom, a “mutual” relationship is formed. Her poetry gains a kind of lift toward the future from the gravity of worldly predicaments.


Alienation: Symphony and ensemble of metaphysics and physics


As an avant-garde poet with a forward-looking vision and international background, Angel.XJ is distinctively open and compatible. Her poems extensively borrow and use the artistic forms and expressions of opera, ballet and musical. The interactivity and creativity of this art form. Drama and opera play an important role in the epic. They are not only the medium for the dissemination of the epic, but also the extension and deepening of the content and theme of the epic. They are a poetic ensemble of science and art, achieving the aesthetic effect of “harmony but difference” between poetry and art.

Within this poetry collection “Rock Academy and Science Cat”, Angel.XJ is good at using symbolic art to express deep thoughts on the primitive, secular and religious worlds through the cross-border integration of scenes, elements and languages. Through the techniques of surreal symbols and metaphors, many strange images are created and innovated: the goddess of light, witnesses, magic mirror rhapsody, transparent skin and submarines. In particular, “blinds” symbolize a complex psychological state of concealment and display, isolation and communication. Through the opening and closing of blinds, the poet skillfully creates an atmosphere that is both obscure and full of hints, making the artistic conception of the poem full of mysterious and profound tension. Her poetic style is close to the body and soul, human nature and the world, and wanders between the gaps in space and time, setting off a semantic situation of cross-border blending and heterogeneous integration.

As Levinas said, the relationship with existence is not a relationship with the other itself, but a transformation of the other into the same. The process of verbal exchange means letting the “other” enter, letting the “other” stay, and realizing the interaction of difference and sameness. Dreams and reality are intertwined, illusions and self-reflection coexist. The poet, with his keen insight and extraordinary creativity, transforms complex psychological phenomena into vivid poetic scenes, and experiences unprecedented spiritual shock under the dual impact of vision and thinking. The poet can always find the most perfect words for these peculiar artistic conceptions: “The view from the terrace is full of imagination”, “In September, thoughts can make the river flow backwards”, “How long will they hug and stay together at night before they are washed away?”, “After the body is buried, the dream continues to live”, “The poppy tree at the top of the sky breaks free from the ancient time capsule”. The poet subtly extracts the ridicule, confrontation or teasing of her personal life and personalized language, and exposes the ultimate honesty and understanding in doubt: “Dancing in the sun is like swimming in the crowd/You are just one of the numbers/Everyone’s saint/And a traitor to himself”. In addition, the human body photography, hands, fingers and other elements in the poem, as well as the words “E flat, C sharp” and “equal temperament, zodiac nature” in the poem, are particularly typical symbolic, enriching and deepening the imagery and spirit of the poem. Alienation is both a creative tool and an innovative path for the poet.

The poet bridges and re-establishes himself from externalization and the unknown world, and with infinite imagination and creativity, brings a new driving force to our new poetry creation and even the life and time of poetry.


Alien: The reproductive aesthetic organ of poetry

       

“Only when you are outside the world can you feel the existence of the world.” The poet tried to overlook the vast vision of mankind through a planetary thinking.

With the advent of the AI era, I think poetry will be an aesthetic organ of the poet that breaks through the survival function. Poetry will surely work with artificial intelligence, biomedical engineering, etc., and the combination of organic organs and non-machines will create the future of mankind. Kant’s so-called “aesthetic judgment”, sensory functions such as sensibility, rationality, and supersensory perception, through the computing power of artificial intelligence, complete the infinite combination and generation of poetic artistic conception. This kind of “grafting“, “sewing” and “bridging” will be the theme of future poetics.

Everything in future poetics revolves around the “absence or presence” of poetry. The exploration of the pioneers has given the basic dimensions of future poetics: action, technology and machine. It is not only a response to the current dilemma and crisis of poetry, but also a new form of poetry. Its advocacy of diversity in creative technology actually contains the secret path to future poetics. The “one” creative technology means the end of history, and the “many” creative technologies will give us and poetry a new life and future.

Angel.XJ explores a certain connection or contrast between rock music and science in his collection of poems “Rock Academy and Science Cats”. The poet uses various symbolic scenes and images to construct the framework of the poem, such as the performance of a rock band, the process of scientific experiments, the agility and mystery of cats, etc., which means that the poem explores the balance or conflict between freedom and rationality, passion and calmness. Angel.XJ’s poems focus on grand themes such as human nature, society, nature, parallel universes, future time and space, and science fiction planets. Through poetry, he conveys all his cracks and conflicts, entanglements and compromises, contradictions and paradoxes about the world, life, and the universe, in order to break through the closeness’ of the inner world and the barriers of the world beyond, and to give poetic compensation to the world of the wasteland and the human world, which is also a restoration and return of a higher dimension.

  Future poetics is not a time dimension, but a new form and new path of poetry creation, and it is also a purpose of new poetry creation to return to poetry itself. Angel.XJ’s poetry creation has distinct “cross-border poetry” characteristics. “Cross-border poetry” should be a direction and prototype of future poetics. It not only inherits the tradition of “dramatization of new poetry”, but also opens up a new paradigm and ecology for new poetry creation. In the experiment of “cross-border poetry”, whether it is the “cross-border” of poetry and drama, or the “mix and match” of poetry and rock and other song and dance forms, or the “symphony” of poetry, music, dance, performance and other arts, they are all Liao Xijuan (Angel.XJ)’s experimental exploration of future poetics. This is undoubtedly a solo adventure, with a unique cultural poetics “phenomenon of existence” way, to the future poetics “phenomenon of existence”.
