Raisa Melnikova [Lithuania]

The origins of poetry (and other three poems)

From the whisper of birches,

from the tears of a cuckoo,

from streams beckoning with coolness,

from fragrant grasses on the edge of a forest

a ray of poetry has broken through as a sprout.

From the interweaving of hands,

of lips touching,

of suffering, of hearts squeezed with pain,

from unforgettable ghostly moments

a lyrical crown is woven.

From the lace of words,

from a rainbow of excitement,

from the oncoming sea wave,

from admiration, painful doubts

the motives of poetry are born.

In the anxious silence of a crystal night

under the rustling of trembling stars

the firmament will prophesy to the poet

a bridge carrying him to immortality.

On the stairs

On the stairs

what leads up

there is no blues, no inertia.

“On the road” -

called Homer.

There are stairs along the way.

Indispensable showers and snow.

Ups,

there are falls.

In a triangle

heaven - earth - man,

Mortal has inspiration.

You get there on foot

you won't move in

to the gangway by stagecoach.

There's a word

flies up like an eagle

over the inevitable space.

On the life path

earthly

staircases fatally meet,

and from the stairs -

word by letter,

which is written with the heart.

Meridians

Neighboring meridians

rushed under the gusts of wind -

hearts were covered with wounds,

but the dawns were pink.

Roads were paved with fogs,

and threads were woven by the Moirae,

and nameless rivers flowed

in invisible corridors.

In spring theaters of ghostly

nests the desired ones curled,

in the usually refined manner

novels were born and lasted.

And time spread out in numbers.

Chestnuts changed their appearance.

Seasonally,

the nearest meridians hunched over with leaves.

And suddenly the tones changed.

Fountains gushed from the magma,

meridians closed

in the bends of living reality.

Smells seem cherry,

and nights explode with stars,

dreams - like sapphires in a frame -

still disturb our souls.

Morning fantasy with a butterfly

A butterfly,

raising the morning silence

on its fantastic wings,

allows a good sleep to continue,

confusing the unprecedented with reality.

Butterfly wings,

like a wonderful dawn,

keeping the secret of legends,

change space,

vary color,

to know, nature is a wonderful designer.

And keeping the flowing time

in the palms,

aesthetically bright moment.

Appreciating objectivity -

I have no wealth.

The butterfly’s touch is preserved.
