金秋十月,丹桂飘香。为提升青年教师的课堂教学能力,促进青年教师专业成长,切实加强教师队伍建设,无锡市协和双语学校小学部于十月下旬举行了青年教师展示课活动。
Golden October fills the air with the fragrance of sweet osmanthus. To enhance the teaching skills of young teachers, promote their professional growth, and strengthen the development of the teaching staff, the primary school department of Wuxi United International School held a Young Teachers’ Demonstration Class event in late October.
本次活动共有11位中外教师登台亮相,涵盖语文、数学、英语、音乐、体育、ELA等学科。每位青年教师在学科组骨干团队的专业引领下,精心备课,反复磨课,呈现出了最佳的课堂样态,得到了学科专家和听课老师们的一致好评。
This event featured 11 Chinese and foreign teachers presenting lessons across various subjects, including Chinese, Mathematics, English, Music, Physical Education, and ELA. Under the professional guidance of the subject teams, each young teacher prepared their lesson meticulously and refining it repeatedly. Their best teaching styles were presented and received high praise from subject experts and observing teachers.

陈老师通过《四季》儿歌,带领一年级学生感受季节美妙,孩子们通过朗读、活动和模仿,培养了对大自然的喜爱。
Ms. Chen used the nursery rhyme《Four Seasons》to help first-grade students feel the beauty of the seasons. Through reading, activities, and imitation, the children cultivated a love for nature.

施老师将《谁偷走了西瓜》融入立体图形教学,激发学生兴趣,帮助掌握图形概念和识别能力,实现了知识性与趣味性的完美结合。
Ms. Shi incorporated 《Who Stole the Watermelon》 into her 3D shapes lesson, sparking students' interest and helping them grasp shape concepts and recognition skills, achieving a perfect blend of knowledge and fun.
张老师围绕角的分类和画角展开教学,帮助学生建立对角的全面认识,掌握不同类型角的特征及识别方法,并学会使用工具绘制角。培养学生的观察、思考和解决问题的能力。
Ms. Zhang focused on the classification and drawing of angles, helping students develop a comprehensive understanding of different types of angles and their features, while teaching them to use tools to draw angles. This lesson cultivated students' observational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.

Maggie老师带来的《Things at school》,凭借丰富多彩的活动与生动形象的教学,让孩子在学习教室用品的过程中体验成就感和快乐,享受语言学习带来的乐趣。
Ms. Maggie’s lesson involved varied activities and lively teaching, enabling children to enjoy learning classroom items while gaining a sense of accomplishment and fun in language learning.

Mr John 和Ms Emily带来的《篮球运球技能》,通过热身游戏《翻转与立直》引导学生互动,逐步学习原地和移动运球,最后进行团队竞赛,激发兴趣,提高控球能力和专注力。
Mr. John and Ms. Emily's lesson on basketball dribbling skills began with the warm-up game Flip and Stand,encouraging student interaction. They gradually taught stationary and moving dribbling skills, concluding with team competitions to increase engagement, ball control, and focus.
《中国地方民歌赏析与表现》课程中,Ms.Wendy带领学生欣赏并学习江苏、陕北、新疆的民歌,学唱《青春舞曲》,提高学生的音乐感知和对中国传统音乐的热爱。
In 《Appreciation and Performance of Chinese Regional Folk Songs》,Ms. Wendy led students in learning and singing Youth Dance,introducing folk songs from Jiangsu, Shanxi, and Xinjiang provinces. This lesson enhanced students' musical perception and appreciation for Chinese traditional music.

在Sturat Boyd 老师的指导下,二年级的学生学习了“ur”音的另一种拼音组合。学生们非常开心,她们学会了将不同的音素融合在一起,运用他们新学到的技能进行说话和写作。
The Grade 2 students, under the guidance of Mr Sturat Boyd, learned all about the alternate grapheme of the “ur”. The young learners joyfully blended the phonemes together. With smiles on their faces, the pupils used their new skills to speak and write.
Stuart Maclean 老师教三年级的学生如何用“彩虹标记法”来自查写作。学生们积极地用“功夫”来检查标点符号,进而利用“彩虹标记法”仔细检查自己的文章,确保符合写信的所有标准。
Mr Stuart Maclean expertly taught the Grade 3 students how to rainbow mark to self check their work. Energetically, the students used kung-fu to review punctuation. The students then carefully checked their work to make sure they had all of the success criteria of a letter.

Exploring the Mysterious
World of Molecules
谢老师和Sheldon两位老师通过复习物质三态引入“分子”这一全新的概念,组织学生进行排列磁铁的游戏,预测分子在不同物质中的分布状态。同时,引导学生开展两组实验,验证了分子排列与运动的方式。
Ms. Xie and Mr. Sheldon introduced the new concept of “molecules” by reviewing the three states of matter. They led students in a magnetic sorting game to predict molecular distributions in different materials, followed by two experiments that verified molecular arrangement and movement.
学无止境,行以致远。在这个金秋时节,我们在课堂上见证了青年教师的风采。这不仅是一次教学技能的展示,更是一场教育理念的交流与碰撞。相信在学校的精心培养下,青年教师会和大家携手共进,不断提升专业素养,打造高效课堂,用他们的热情与才华,快速成为学校发展的重要力量!
Learning is endless, and progress comes from practice. This autumn, we witnessed the remarkable teaching styles of our young teachers in the classroom. This event was not only a showcase of teaching skills but also an exchange and fusion of educational ideas. We believe that, with the school’s thoughtful guidance, young teachers will continue to grow teaching abilities, enhancing their professional skills, creating efficient classrooms, and quickly becoming a driving force in the school’s development through their enthusiasm and talents!
