Assistant Principal and Head of Secondary, Ms. Rebecca Cao, today's host, welcomed everyone with a warm greeting and introduced the three co-principals, Ms. Angel Li, Mr. Meng Xiaodong, and Dr. Max Caruso, to a round of applause.

All students and parents welcomed all the teachers of the International High School to the stage with warm applause. They were introduced by the Heads of departments and Grades with the information of the teachers’ expertise and working experience. The average teaching experience is 13 years with IGCSE, IBDP and A Level examiners! This is the team to take students towards the dreams.

Academic performance is at the core of high school life and is our powerful weapon for university applications. This year, we have launched the "Stellar Future Initiative," aiming to help students break through in academics and achieve the 3E goals: establish a solid foundation, identify their majors, and delve into academic research.
林校长用一个短视频带领观众们回到了2024年的盛夏 – 第三十三届巴黎奥运会！中国运动员们在赛场上的英姿激励着每位同学和老师！“黑神话 悟空”也火爆了夏天，“每位同学都是悟空，求学之路亦是《西游记》”，林校长用了一个绝妙的隐喻，让所有同学明白，只有勇敢迎接挑战，不断挑战自我，才能让我们的“血肉”更加健硕。当然，林校长也不忘要求师生在生活中保持平衡，拥有快乐之心。
In a short video, Ms. Angel Lin takes the audience back to the summer of 2024 - the 33rd Olympic Games in Paris! The Chinese athletes' heroic performance on the field inspired every student and teacher! "Black Myth Wukong" is also hot in the summer, "Every student is Wukong, the road to the future is also ‘Journey to the West’, Ms. Angel Lin used a wonderful metaphor to let all students understand that only by bravely meeting challenges and constantly challenging themselves can we make our "flesh and blood" stronger. Of course, Ms. Angel Lin does not forget to ask teachers and students to maintain balance in their lives.

A picture called “The Pale Blue Dot” presented by Dr. Max Caruso got everyone’s interest immediately. It is a photograph of the Earth taken on the 14th of February, 1990, by the Voyager 1 Space probe. So as we continue to live with our earth with our home, creating evermore sustainable practices, WUISers shall be inspired to work together.
孟晓东校长与全体师生和家长“再谈国际高中生的精神气质”，用5个国内外的名人历史故事，生动地讲述了国际高中生应如何追求学术发展和人格定位。孟校长在演讲中对同学们提出了殷殷期望，也对老师和家长们发出了号召，为了协和学子更广阔的未来，我们应携手前行，共创最佳学习氛围和环境。
Mr. Meng Xiaodong delivered a speech entitled "More Thoughts on the Temperament of International High School Students", with 5 domestic and foreign famous historical stories, vividly told how students should pursue academic development and personality orientation. In his speech, Mr. Meng put forward high expectations for the students, and also called on the teachers and parents to work together to create the best learning atmosphere and environment for the broader future of WUIS students.
随着2024-2025学年的正式开启，新一届学生会已经准备好投入工作。十二年级四位学生领袖、十一年级17位模范生代表们由三位联合校长们共同颁发徽章，标志着他们正式承担起领导和服务全校师生的责任。接下来，学生会将组织一系列活动，旨在丰富校园生活，同时培养所有同学的领导力和团队精神。此外，他们还将与教师和家长紧密合作，确保学生的声音被听到，并在学校决策过程中发挥作用。
With the official start of the 2024-2025 school year, the new Student Council is ready to get to work. Four Head Students from Grade 12 and 17 Prefects from Grade 11 were presented with badges by the three Co-Principals, marking their formal responsibility to lead and serve the entire school. Next, the Student Council will organize a series of activities aimed at enriching campus life while developing the leadership and team spirit of all students. In addition, they will work closely with teachers and parents to ensure that students' voices are heard and have a role in the school's decision-making process.

Deputy Head Boy Billy Zhang shared his tips of learning English as a second language. He emphasized the importance of learning: practice makes perfect.
