比较文学与世界文学学术讲座之八十九
Chinese Literary Afterlives
and their European Influences
内容简介
This talk revisits the constructions of the afterlife in Zhou Daxin’s Fields of Joy (安魂) and Shi Tiesheng’s My Travels in Ding Yi (我的丁一之旅) in the light of earlier Christian constructs of heaven. Dante’s Commedia proves a helpful source for parsing Zhou Daxin, while contemporary translations of these volumes, especially with regard to religious terminology, reveals the ambiguity between religious systems represented in the English and Chinese texts and among readers from different cultural backgrounds.
