你最美的事,是成为辩词
被光明和黑暗引以为据
于是,你最后的话语也就是最初的话语
别人呢,有人以为你不过是水泡
有人却认定你开宗立道
你最美的事,是成为目标
成为分水岭
区分沉默和话语
The Beginning of Poetry
Adonis
The best thing one can be is a horizon.
And the others?
Some will think you are the call
others will think you are its echo.
The best thing one can be is an alibi
for light and darkness
where the last words are your first.
And the others?
Some will see you as the foam of creation
others will think you the creator.
The best thing one can be is a target—
crossroad
between silence and words.

远航的船只
没有码头。
什么是幻想?
现实的香气。
什么是脸庞?
眼泪迁徙
途经的最近港湾。
什么是白昼?
囚禁阳光的最大的笼子。
什么是贫穷?
在大地上移动的坟墓。
什么是玫瑰?
为了被斩首而生长的头颅。
什么是尘土?
从大地之肺发出的一声叹息。
什么是雨?
从乌云的列车上,下来的最后一位旅客。
什么是焦虑?
褶子和皱纹,在神经的丝绸上。
什么是时光?
我们穿上的衣服,却再也脱不下来。

What is poetry?
Vessel headed for no port.
What is imagination?
The scent of reality.
What is the face?
Port for the migration of tears.
What is day?
A cage to trap sunlight.
What is poverty?
A grave moving above ground.
What is rose?
A head which grows in order to be cut off.
What is dust?
A sigh which comes from the lung of the earth.
What is rain?
The last passenger to come off the train of cloud.
What is anxiety?
Creases and wrinkles on the silk of the nerves.
What is time?
Clothes which once put on we cannot take off.
