小朋友们，你们知道十二生肖吗？
十二生肖是流传于民间的中华民俗文化。
在我们中国，每年过年都有一个代表动物，
这些动物按一定的顺序进行排列，以十二年为一个周期进行循环。

The Chinese zodiac, also known as Sheng Xiao, consists of a 12-year cycle of animal signs: Rat, Ox, Tiger, Rabbit, Dragon, Snake, Horse, Goat, Monkey, Rooster, Dog, and Pig. It is believed that the order of these animals comes from a “Great Race” organized by the Jade Emperor. The Spring Festival celebrates the change from one animal to the next, and this year is the Year of the Dragon. What is your zodiac animal?

十二生肖排序的故事
A long time ago, the Jade Emperor wanted to make a way to tell time. He decided to have a big race for all the animals. The order they finished would decide their places in the Chinese zodiac!
很久以前，玉帝想要创造一种计时的方法。他决定举办一场大赛，邀请所有动物参加。动物们完成比赛的顺序将决定它们在十二生肖中的位置！
On the day of the race, all the animals gathered by a big river. The clever Rat and the strong Ox were ready to race. When the race started, the Ox swam across the river, and the Rat jumped onto his back to take a rest. Just before they reached the finish line, the Rat jumped off and landed first!
比赛当天，所有动物聚集在一条大河边。聪明的鼠和强壮的牛准备开始比赛。比赛开始后，牛在河里游泳，鼠跳到它背上休息。在它们快到终点线时，鼠跳了下来，第一个到达终点！
Next came the Ox in second place. The fast Tiger swam to third, and the quick Rabbit hopped in fourth. The Dragon flew high but helped others along the way and arrived in fifth. The sneaky Snake arrived at the finish line before the Horse, taking the sixth place, while the Horse came in seventh.
牛获得了第二名。虎行动迅速，游到第三名，兔子非常灵活地跳跃，获得了第四名。龙飞得很高，但在途中帮助了其他动物，最后获得第五名。狡猾的蛇比马先到终点，获得了第六名，而马则得了第七名。
The Goat, Monkey, and Rooster worked together and took eighth, ninth, and tenth places. The friendly Dog played in the water and came in eleventh, and finally, the Pig, who took a nap during the race, finished last.
羊、猴和鸡一起合作，分别获得了第八、第九和第十名。善良的狗在水里玩了一会儿，获得了第十一名，最后，猪在比赛中打了个盹，排名最后。
That is how the order of the twelve zodiac animals was decided: Rat, Ox, Tiger, Rabbit, Dragon, Snake, Horse, Goat, Monkey, Rooster, Dog, and Pig. The Jade Emperor was happy with the results!
