Let's go

The Silk Road was an ancient network of trade routes that stretched over 6,000 kilometers from China to Europe. Along the road, people traded silk, spices, tea, and porcelain, as well as ideas, art, and inventions. In 2014, it was listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and its spirit of openness and mutual learning continues to inspire global connections today.

The Silk Road wasn’t just about silk and spices; it brought along delicious foods too! During the Tang Dynasty, grapes from the Western Regions became popular in China, especially in the royal court. The nobility enjoyed its exotic treats, and in exchange, Chinese tea and cuisine also made their way west. This exchange enriched the food culture on both sides, blending Eastern and Western flavors.

Tea is a traditional Chinese drink, but on the Silk Road, it became much more than that. Tea traveled through the Silk Road to the Middle East and Europe, and by the 17th century, it had gained popularity in Britain and other European countries. It soon became part of everyday life there, influencing European tea-drinking traditions.

Camels, often called the “ships of the desert,” were essential for surviving long, dry journeys. Ancient trade caravans relied on camels to carry silk, spices, and other treasures across vast deserts. Without camels, much of the trade and cultural exchange along the Silk Road would have been impossible.
