小朋友们，你们知道“九九重阳”吗？这个词就来自于每年农历九月初九的重阳节，它是中国传统的民间节日，“九”在《易经》中是阳，那么“九九”就是重复的双阳，所以才叫“重阳”。
重阳节这一天，人们会一起出游、登高、赏菊，还会喝菊花酒、吃重阳糕。
由于“九九”与“久久”同音，象征着长寿的美好愿望，所以重阳节也被称为“敬老节”。

The Double Ninth Festival, also known as the Chongyang Festival or Senior Citizens' Festival, is celebrated on the ninth day of the ninth lunar month. This festival has a long history, dating back to ancient times, and became popular during the Tang Dynasty. People celebrate by hiking, admiring beautiful chrysanthemums, and enjoying special Chongyang cakes. Today, it’s a wonderful day to spend with family, honor traditions, and appreciate the beauty of autumn!

1. 登高

On the Double Ninth Festival, people often go hiking to enjoy the view from high places. The belief is that the higher you climb, the better your health and luck will be.
2. 佩戴茱萸
古时候，人们在重阳节会佩戴茱萸香囊。人们认为茱萸有驱邪避灾的作用，能够保平安。
In the past, people wore cornel pouches on this day. Cornel was thought to keep away evil spirits and protect people from harm.
3. 赏菊
重阳节正值秋季，也是菊花盛开的时节。因此，赏菊成为了重阳节必不可少的一项活动。菊花象征着长寿与坚韧，深受人们的喜爱。
Since the festival happens in autumn, when chrysanthemums bloom, admiring these flowers has become a key tradition. Chrysanthemums represent strength and long life, which is why they’re cherished during this time.
4. 喝菊花酒
喝菊花酒是重阳节的传统之一，传说可以清心明目、延年益寿。
Another tradition is drinking chrysanthemum wine, which is said to clear the mind, improve eyesight, and help people live longer.
5. 吃重阳糕
重阳节还有吃重阳糕的传统。重阳糕通常有九层，象征着节日里的“九九”，寓意步步高升。
On this day, people also eat Chongyang cakes, which often have nine layers. These cakes symbolize progress and the hope for good fortune.
6. 敬老活动
因为“九九”重阳节与“久久”同音，象征着长久和长寿，所以这一天也被称为“敬老节”。许多地方会组织敬老活动，表达对老年人的关心。
Because “nine” sounds like “long-lasting” in Chinese, this festival is also known as the Senior Citizens' Festival. Many people take time to show love and respect to their elders by organizing special events.
1989年，我国把每年的九月九日定为了“老人节”。希望小朋友们在重阳节这一天，能够与家人一起登高，赏美景、观红叶，同时给长辈多一些陪伴，感谢他们的的关爱与付出。
