In it’s continuing artistic evolution of the modern era, Shanghai-style art continues to shines on both the Chinese and world stage with its unique charm and vitality.

2025年初，“当代海派名家•双人展系列”在刘海粟美术馆盛大开幕，本次展览聚焦于当代海派艺术的代表人物陈家泠与谷文达，通过他们的作品，展现了海派艺术在新时代的传承与创新。

In early 2025, the The Fourth Exhibition Series of Contemporary Shanghai-style Famous Artists opened at the Liu Haisu Art Museum. 

This exhibition focuses on Chen Jialeng and Gu Wenda, important representatives of contemporary Shanghai-style art, and displays the inheritance and innovation of Shanghai-style art in the modern era through their significant works.

陈家泠，作为当代海派艺术的杰出代表，以其独特的水墨画风和深邃的艺术内涵，在海内外享有盛誉。他的作品融合了传统与现代，既有中国水墨的灵动与韵味，又不失现代艺术的创新与活力。陈家泠运用丰富的色彩和自由的笔触，将自然景象与个人情感完美融合，创造出既具视觉冲击力又富有哲理思考的艺术作品。

Chen Jialeng, as an outstanding representative of contemporary Shanghai-style art, enjoys a high reputation at both home and abroad for his distinctive ink painting style and profound artistic connotations. 

His works seamlessly blend tradition with modernity, embodying the agility and power of Chinese ink painting while retaining the innovation and vitality typical of modern art.

Chen particularly excels at utilizing rich colors and free brushstrokes to carefully integrate natural scenes with intensely personal emotions, creating artworks that are both visually impactful and philosophically thought-provoking.

Gu Wenda, also widely recognized as a leading figure in Shanghai-style art, has had a considerable influence in the international art world with his avant-garde artistic concepts and cutting-edge creative techniques. 

His works often involve multiple fields of inquiry such as culture, history, and politics, exploring cultural conflicts and fusion in the context of globalization through various art forms such as ink painting, installations, and performance art.

His works are full of intellectual critique and experimentation, showcasing the artist's profound reflections and insights on numerous contemporary social issues.

展览现场，陈家泠的书法装置《自然的痕迹》与《沁园春·雪》以其独特的艺术语言和深邃的文化内涵，吸引了众多观众的目光。而谷文达的《联合国—基因长城》、《西游记》简词典系列等作品，则以其前卫的艺术观念和丰富的文化内涵，展现了艺术家对于全球化、文化身份等问题的深刻思考。

As particular highlights of this exhibition exhibition, Chen Jialeng's calligraphy installations "Traces of Nature" and "Spring in the Imperial Garden, Snow" have attracted the attention of visitors with their distinctive artistic language and the continuing relevance of their cultural connotations.

Meanwhile, Gu Wenda's works such as "The United Nations - Gene Wall" and the "Journey to the West" Simplified Dictionary Series, with their avant-garde artistic concepts which reward careful consideration and multiple interpretations, demonstrate the artist's profound reflections on issues such as the hazards of globalization and the continuing evolution of cultural identity.

上海视觉艺术学院美术学院数字媒体艺术专业团队还为观众带来了精心策划的艺术作品《数字海韵》，通过数字媒体技术将陈家泠与谷文达的书法风格进行数字化解构与重构。

Furthermore, the exhibition also includes educational interactive sessions, allowing visitors to gain a deeper understanding of the creative influences and artistic styles of these two artists.

The digital media art team from the School of Fine Arts, Shanghai Visual Arts College have also produced a carefully planned artwork titled "Digital Rhythm of the Sea," which digitally deconstructs and reconstructs the calligraphy styles of Chen Jialeng and Gu Wenda through digital media technology.
