 Beeple 

Beeple，本名Mike Winkelmann，来自美国南卡罗来纳州查尔斯顿，是一位多领域的艺术家和平面设计师。

自20世纪末以来，他一直站在科技与艺术的交汇点，利用电影、绘画、音乐、虚拟现实、增强现实以及加密艺术等多种媒介进行创作。Beeple以其对传播媒介的深刻理解和开放性创作而闻名，他的作品经常探讨社会、文化和技术的交汇点。

Beeple is the professional name used by Mike Winkelmann, a digital artist and designer whose work incorporates references to contemporary politics, pop culture, and science fiction. 

Often irreverent and sardonic in tone, Beeple’s artistic output responds rapidly to news and internet culture, metabolizing images and stories in real time. Beeple gained prominence for his ongoing work Everydays: The First 5000 Days, initiated in 2007, wherein the artist creates a unique image and uploads it to his website daily. His distinctive work evokes  realms that find echoes in worlds as disparate as the ancient Hellenistic to the cutting-edge and cybernated. 

By paying homage to the rich history of digital art and reflecting on the future of humanity and media, he challenges the fantasies surrounding emerging technologies, expanding the blurred boundaries between digital and physical existence.

本次展览由国际知名策展人汉斯-乌尔里希·奥布里斯特担任艺术顾问，回顾了Beeple的艺术生涯，并集中展示了他最引人注目的作品，包括《每一天》系列精选、《人类一号》、《S.2122》以及为本次展览特别创作的全新作品《指数生长》等。

Curated by the internationally acclaimed curator Hans Ulrich Obrist, this exhibition offers a retrospective of Beeple's artistic career, showcasing a wide array of his most compelling works, including a selection from the "Everydays" series, "Human One," "S.2122," and a brand-new piece created specifically for this exhibition, "Exponential Growth" .

此次展览不仅是Beeple艺术生涯的全面回顾，也是对其在数字艺术领域所作出的开创性贡献的深度展示。

This exhibition not only serves as a comprehensive review of Beeple's artistic journey but also clearly demonstrates his pioneering contributions to the field of digital art.

自2007年5月1日起，Beeple每天都会创作并上传一幅作品，至今已持续超过17年，完成了超过6400张作品。这个系列起初是Beeple为了精进技艺的不懈坚持，后来逐渐转变为对图像、事件的实时反应，成为Beeple对社会和日常事件个人化的诠释。

Since May 1st, 2007, Beeple has been committed to creating and uploading a new artwork every day, a practice he has maintained for over 17 years, resulting in more than 6,400 works. Initially, this series was Beeple's relentless pursuit to refine his skills; it has gradually evolved into real-time responses to images and events, becoming his personalized interpretations of the vicissitudes of society and daily occurrences. 

Beeple将其称为《每一天》系列，这个系列的作品经常将超现实主义与高度写实主义融合，在未来的奇异场景中推演当下的事件，反映了数字时代的混乱和反乌托邦性质。

Known as the "Everydays" series, these works often blend surrealism with hyper-realism, depicting current events in futuristic, bizarre scenarios, reflecting the chaos and dystopian nature of the digital era.

《人类一号》是Beeple首个动态雕塑作品，展现了一个穿着银色太空服的人物在不断变化的虚拟景观中行走。这件作品是一个比人略高的方盒子，四面都是LED屏幕，于2021年在纽约佳士得夜场拍卖中拍得2890万美元。

"Human One" is Beeple's first dynamic sculpture, featuring a figure in a silver spacesuit walking through a constantly changing virtual landscape. This work, a slightly taller-than-life-size cube with LED screens on all four sides, fetched $28.9 million at a Christie's auction in New York in 2021.

Beeple对于2122年人类未来图景的设想都体现在《S.2122》这一逾两米高的旋转矩形雕塑内，一座独立的多单元高层建筑矗立于未来主义的海洋环境中。《S.2122》也是艺术家首次将过往重要作品聚合于同一件实体雕塑中呈现，包括《每一天》系列的经典元素以及《人类一号》中的宇航员形象。作品里的内容会持续更新，海洋水位会不断上升，建筑中的人类也会随之展开应对，展现了气候问题的严重性以及人类生存的坚强意志和力量。

Beeple's vision for the future of humanity in 2122 is encapsulated in "S.2122," a rotating rectangular sculpture over two meters tall, showcasing a standalone multi-unit high-rise building amidst a futuristic ocean environment. 

"S.2122" is also the artist's first attempt to integrate significant past works into a single physical sculpture, including classic elements from the "Everydays" series and the astronaut figure from "Human One." The content within the work continuously updates, with rising sea levels prompting the humans in the building to adapt, highlighting the severity of climate issues and the resilience and strength of human survival.

Beeple的创作思路深受快速变化的时代、人性与技术之间常常令人困惑的交集的影响。他通过前沿的创作工具生成自身特有的艺术表达，对于每一个当下展开积极回应。Beeple的作品中，技术不仅是创作的工具，也是探讨的主题，他通过作品对技术进步下人类社会发展的不确定性、未来世界人类、科技与生态的平衡关系等议题进行深入探讨。

Beeple's creative mindset is deeply influenced by the rapidly changing times and the often perplexing intersection of humanity and technology. He employs cutting-edge creative tools to generate his unique artistic expressions, actively responding to each present moment. 

In Beeple's works, technology is not just a tool for creation but also a theme for exploration. He delves into issues such as the uncertainties surrounding human societal development amidst technological advancements and the balance between humans, technology, and ecology in the future world. 

展览通过Beeple的作品，展现了数字艺术的“持续变化性”和“生长性”，以及艺术家对于未来世界的思考。

The exhibition, through Beeple's works, showcases the "continuous change" and "growth" of digital art, as well as the artist's reflections on the future world. 

随着展览的开幕，德基艺术博物馆还同步启动了“DIGIVERSE引力计划”，旨在通过持续邀约和长期征集数字艺术创作成果，呈现全球特别是中国数字艺术领域的更多可能性。此外，德基艺术博物馆还携手多所知名高校，面向在校学生展开定向作品征集，为年轻数字艺术家提供展示与交流的平台。

With the opening of the exhibition, the Deji Art Museum also launched the "DIGIVERSE Gravitation Plan," aiming to present more possibilities within the global digital art sphere, particularly in China, by continuously inviting and long-term collecting digital art creations. 

Furthermore, the museum has collaborated with several renowned universities to conduct targeted work solicitations from students, providing a platform for young digital artists to showcase and exchange their works.
