Curator Liu Yi said, "I enjoy and appreciate workshop-style co-creation in public art. By conducting aesthetic education workshops for the public of all ages, I have already initiated co-creation in public art with significant public participation. During the process of creating and installing exhibitions in public spaces, the passing public often gathers curiously to observe us at work. At such moments, spontaneously inviting them to join in the creation is also part of the planning."

为庆祝万里街道成立10周年，第四届“万里观光”灯光艺术季将于2024年11月20日至2025年1月20日亮相。策展人刘毅老师倡导“共创、共享、共生、共鸣”的公共艺术理念，融合社区调研和公众互动的成果，创作出众多生动作品。此次展览汇聚艺术家策划、居民参与、幼儿园孩子的纯真创意及大学生的奇思妙想，焕发新生。
艺术季由万里街道办事处主办，获上海中环投资开发（集团）有限公司支持，由万里协同创新工作室承办，上海市创意设计工作者协会提供学术指导，聚焦自然、共创、环保、宜居等理念。在联合国可持续发展目标指引下，公共艺术与美育成为连接公众与社区的桥梁，鼓励民众参与，激发创造力，共同美化社区，提升生活美学，共筑美好愿景。
In celebration of the 10th anniversary of the establishment of Wanli Street, the fourth "Wanli Light Tourism" Light Art Season will be held from November 20th, 2024 to January 20th, 2025!
Curator Liu Yi has articulated his ideas concerning the public art concept of "co-creation, sharing, coexistence, and resonance," integrating the results of community research and public interaction to create numerous vivid works. This exhibition brings together artist planning, resident participation, the boundless creativity of kindergarten children and the whimsical ideas of college students, breathing new life into the event and creating some fantastic artworks in the process.
The Art Season is hosted by the Wanli Street Office, supported by Shanghai Zhonghuan Investment & Development (Group) Co., Ltd., and organized by the Wanli Collaborative Innovation Studio. The Shanghai Creative Designers Association provides academic guidance, focusing on the concepts of nature, co-creation, environmental protection, and livability.
Guided by the principles of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, public art and aesthetic education have become a bridge connecting the public and the community at large, encouraging public participation, stimulating creativity, jointly beautifying the community, enhancing the aesthetics of life, and building a shared vision for a better future.
在万里公园的“万花镜”市民园艺中心，居民热情参与“万里森林美育课堂”工作坊，展现共创活力，诠释了人民城市理念。民众共创成为社区发展的关键。今年，多个灯光景观点位亮相万里公园及新村路富平路小广场等地，如《可持续发展之树》彰显社区对可持续发展的重视。今年灯光景观增设多个点位，分布于万里公园、新村路富平路小广场等地。
此次所呈现的灯光艺术作品中，《可持续发展之树》矗立犹如社区的绿色宣言，彰显着对可持续发展目标的深切关怀；《祈福风铃》在“万里森林美育课堂”的居民与艺术家手中诞生，其清脆之音，如同天籁，传递着无尽的祈福与祝愿；《美植光影共创》则是对大自然的一曲颂歌，展现着人们对自然的崇敬及共生共创的美好愿景。
《生命的庆典》以独特的艺术造型，璀璨绽放，庆祝万里社区十年来的辉煌历程；《玫瑰花亭》如诗如画，浪漫满溢，成为了人们心中的打卡圣地；《蒲公英烟花》在空中绚烂绽放，寓意着希望与活力，照亮了社区的每一个角落。
《森林像素涟漪》与《花山水》将自然之美与互动乐趣巧妙融合，让人们在艺术中感受自然的魅力；《云上的浪漫》与《摘星星》则提供了温馨的休憩之所，让人们在欣赏美景的同时，也能唤起对动物保护的关注，共同营造一个和谐宜居的公共空间。
At the "Wanhuajing" Citizen Horticulture Center in Wanli Park, residents enthusiastically participate in the "Wanli Forest Aesthetics Education Class" workshops, demonstrating the vitality of co-creation and interpreting the concept of a people-oriented city. Public co-creation has become an important key to community development in the local area.
This year, multiple lighting installations have appeared at various locations such as Wanli Park and the small plaza at Xincun Road and Fuping Road, with "The Tree of Sustainable Development" highlighting the community's emphasis on sustainability. Multiple lighting spots were added this time, distributed across Wanli Park, the small plaza at Xincun Road and Fuping Road, and other locations.
Among the presented light art installations, "The Tree of Sustainable Development" stands tall as a green manifesto for the whole community, demonstrating a deep concern for sustainable development goals which affect us all. "Blessing Wind Chimes" were created by residents and artists in the "Wanli Forest Aesthetics Education Class". Their crisp sounds, like celestial melodies, convey endless blessings and wishes. "Co-created Beautiful Plants and Lights" is an ode to nature, showcasing people's reverence for nature and the harmonious vision of coexistence and co-creation.
"Celebration of Life" shines brightly with it’s gorgeous artistic design, celebrating the glorious decade of the Wanli community. "Rose Pavilion" is poetic and romantic, becoming a must-visit destination in hearts of both locals and visitors. "Dandelion Fireworks" bursts brilliantly into the fresh air, symbolizing hope and vitality, illuminating every corner of the community with hope and positivity.
"Forest Pixel Ripples" and "Flower Mountain and Water" cleverly integrate the beauty of nature with interactive fun, allowing people to experience the charm of nature through art. "Romance in the Clouds" and "Picking Stars" provide cozy resting spots, allowing people to enjoy the scenery while also raising awareness about animal protection, jointly creating a harmonious and livable public space.

"Blessing Wind Chimes" ingeniously integrates concepts of environmental protection with the pure inspiration of artistic creation. This beautiful piece is meticulously crafted using recycled resources, vividly interpreting the community's spirit of coexistence and co-creation. As the gentle breeze caresses it, the wind chimes sway lightly, and their crisp and melodious sounds, like celestial melodies, not only carry deep wishes for a bright future for the community but also demonstrate a profound concern for environmental protection.
This work is not only a vivid demonstration of the importance of environmental protection but also emphasizes the active contributions of community residents in building a green lifestyle and promoting harmonious coexistence between humans and nature, perfectly presenting a compelling picture of harmony and integration between the street and its residents.

As light and shadow intertwine, natural landscapes come to life before our eyes, embodying the unspoken harmony and coexistence between humans, nature, and the community. The creativity and emotions of each participant flow through the work, collectively painting a splendid new chapter of the beautiful environment of the community.

Artists adorned Wanli Community with unique "smiley face" decorative symbols to celebrate this grand event together. The egg-shaped installations emerge from their shells, akin to the first bloom of life, symbolizing new birth and hope, and delivering a visual feast.
This artwork aims to use the symbolism of an egg breaking out of its shell to reflect on and envision the growth and transformation of the community, while also serving as a bridge for interaction with the public. It invites people to take photos here, creating unforgettable memories together with the Wanli Community's 10th anniversary celebration.

It not only conveys the profound meanings of environmental protection and regeneration but also prompts viewers to reflect on the harmonious coexistence between humans and nature, highlighting the community's relentless efforts on the path of co-creating a better life.

"Hand in Hand, Heart to Heart" is inspired by the concept of "Walking through the Peach Garden, Building a Bridge of Hearts." It uses peach blossoms as a symbol of harmony between humans and nature.
When we witness how the lighting and steel structures play off one another, we understand it’s reference to the spirit of coexistence and co-creation within the community, with changing light and shadow displaying vitality and the pursuit of a better life.
The heart shape formed by two hands symbolizes the "Bridge of Hearts," adding a warm cultural touch to the light festival and inviting viewers to experience the poetic beauty of nature and the warmth of humanity.
