白日看起来明亮,照亮一切,

但也有人如光弥散,不知自己的终点在哪里。


在某刻游离常规的状态下,

内心的微妙波澜在日夜流转间悄然涌动,

最终孕育出各自的意义与感受。


The rays of daylight appear bright, illuminating everything,

Yet some souls wander randomly like light dispersed, unsure of their final destination.


In moments of deviation from the norm,

Subtle ripples stir quietly through the cycle of night and day, Ultimately nurturing brand-new meanings and sensations.




本展览汇集新生代艺术家的多元创作,涵盖传统艺术与数字艺术,透过这些作品,我们能够一窥他(她)们表达自我存在探寻世界及探索爱的联结的独特方式。


The exhibition Dispersion Of Daylight brings together diverse creations by emerging artists, encompassing both traditional and digital art. Through these works, we can glimpse their unique and surprising methods of expressing themselves, exploring our rapidly-evolving world, and delving into the myriad connections of love.

"白日"本应是最为清明的时刻,却在当代语境中折射出一种朦胧的不确定性;"弥散"则暗示着那些难以言说的情绪,如同空气中漂浮的尘埃,在阳光下若隐若现。在这个充满矛盾的时代里,我们既渴望联结,又本能地保持距离;既追求确定,又不断摇摆。光与影的交织,恰如当代都市人复杂的心理图景,在表象的光明下,潜藏着难以言说的暗流涌动,每个人都在寻找属于自己的精神栖居。


‘Daylight', which ought to be the clearest moment of the day, reflects a hazy uncertainty in the contemporary context; 'dispersion' suggests fleeting and ineffable emotions, like dust floating in the air, faintly visible in the sunlight. In this contradictory era, we both desire connection and instinctively keep our distance; we seek certainty while constantly wavering. 


The intertwining of light and shadow mirrors the complex psychological landscape of modern urbanites, where beneath the apparent brightness, there lie hidden, unspeakable undercurrents swirling beneath the surface, with each individual searching for their own spiritual abode.

赵梦佳一直对人类如何理解和面对未知充满好奇。2012年轰动一时的“玛雅末日预言”,恰成为她创作这一系列的缘起。虽然此预言最终被证实为误解,玛雅智者阐明,2012年实则象征一个纪元的落幕与新纪元的曙光,寓意人类在精神与意识层面的觉醒与蜕变,引领我们步入一个崭新的文明纪元。尽管如此,这一事件却激发了她对“终结”与 “新生”的思考。


Zhao Mengjia has always been curious about how humans understand and face the unknown. The widely discussed "2012 Mayan Doomsday Prophecy" became the inspiration for her series of photographs. 


Although the prophecy was eventually proven to be a misunderstanding, Mayan wise men clarified that 2012 actually symbolized the end of an era and the dawn of a new one, implying the awakening and transformation of humanity at the spiritual and conscious levels, guiding us into a new era of civilization. Nevertheless, this event sparked her reflections on "end" and "renewal".

赵梦佳的《留在人间祈祷》系列通过对末日景象的描绘,如云雾缭绕的海岸线、熊熊燃烧的山岳,以及正在进行祈祷的人,探讨人类在面对未知与灾难时的心理状态。无论是火山喷发、山火肆虐,抑或车祸现场、空难遗址,乃至各种废墟遗迹,这些本应引发恐惧与哀伤之地,却常常成为人们竞相目睹的“奇观”,甚至成为景点。这种对灾难的凝视现象,构成了系列中一个不可或缺的主题元素,或许,那些看似末日的景象,某种程度上正是我们当下世界真实状态的映照。


Zhao Mengjia's photography series "Stay on Earth and Pray" explores human psychology in the face of the unknown and disasters through depictions of apocalyptic scenes, such as coastline shrouded in mist, blazing mountains, and people praying. 

Whether it's volcanic eruptions, wildfires, car accidents, air crash sites, or various ruins, these places that should evoke fear and sadness often become "spectacles" that people compete to witness, even turning into tourist attractions. This phenomenon of gazing at disasters constitutes an indispensable theme in the series. Perhaps, those apocalyptic scenes are, to some extent, a reflection of the true state of our current world.

在异国他乡的邓杰宇对家的记忆日渐模糊,也渐渐遗忘了那些熟悉的面孔。为了找寻一丝喘息的空间,他开始沿海岸漫步,在这个陌生的国度边缘徘徊。眺望大海时,风中摇曳的光线、声音以及弥漫在空气中的盐味,不禁让他想起了遥远的家乡。海浪如同催眠般翻涌,卷带着熟悉的场景,他往日的记忆逐渐浮现在心头。刹那间,他仿佛回到了属于自己的地方,但心中明白,这不过是一场幻觉,终将如潮水般退去,只留下他孤独地行走在这片一望无际的海岸线上。


Deng Jieyu, living in a foreign country, finds his memories of home growing increasingly vague, and the familiar faces gradually fading from his mind. Seeking a moment of respite, he begins to wander along the coast, lingering on the fringes of this unfamiliar land. As he gazes out at the sea, the flickering light, the sounds, and the salt-tinged air in the wind remind him of his distant homeland. 


The hypnotic waves churn up familiar scenes, and his past memories slowly rise to the surface. For a fleeting moment, he feels as if he has returned to a place that belongs to him, but he knows deep down that this is merely an illusion, destined to dissipate like the tide, leaving him to walk alone on this vast, endless coastline.

邓杰宇的摄影项⽬《A Taste of Salt》受 20 世纪 70 年代⽇本摄影师的启发,采⽤多重叙事结构,探讨与记忆、家庭、爱情、家庭、友情和失去相关的主题。该项目所有照⽚都是通过⿊⽩胶卷完成,并在暗房中进⾏印刷与实验。邓杰宇将观察纪实与图像的创造交织在⼀起,并使⽤象征和隐喻⼿法,利⽤视觉反思邓杰宇⽣命中这段充满创伤但又影响深远的时期。


Deng Jieyu's photography project, "A Taste of Salt" is inspired by Japanese photographers from the 1970s. The project employs a multi-narrative structure to explore themes related to memory, family, love, friendship, and loss. 


Deng Jieyu intertwines observational documentary with creative imagery, utilizing symbolism and metaphor to visually reflect on this traumatic yet profound period of his life. All the photographs in the project were captured using black-and-white film and printed and experimented with in a darkroom.

严湘宁导演的多媒体影像装置作品《颅内花园》则引领观众进入一个探索记忆、媒介与身份的独特空间。该作品以主人公对上海老弄堂的追忆为切入点,通过三维扫描、人工智能生成图像和点云技术,将记忆与身份的重构过程可视化。在生成影像和个人化媒体盛行的当下,严湘宁的作品不仅展现了传统电影在观看模式、身体体验和情感连接上的不可替代性,还探讨了新兴影像技术在艺术创作中的多样可能。

Yan Xiangning's multimedia image installation work, "Intracranial Garden," leads viewers into a unique space for exploring memory, media, and identity. The work takes the protagonist's recollection of old Shanghai alleys as its starting point, using 3D scanning, AI-generated images, and point cloud technology to visualize the process of memory and identity reconstruction. 


In the current era of prevalent generated imagery and personalized media, Yan Xiangning's work not only demonstrates the irreplaceable nature of traditional cinema in terms of viewing modes, physical experiences, and emotional connections, but also explores the diverse possibilities of emerging imaging technologies in artistic creation.

而在文道广看来,诗歌与图像,均有抵达精神世界的⼒量。在《重逢》中,他⽤图像作为语⾔书写诗歌,表达⾃我的存在状态并寻找爱的联结。文道广将情感联结分为抗衡、缠绕和共⽣三种状态,结合童年游戏和⽣活经验设置了⼀些⾏为邀请好友参与,并拍摄我们的⾏为过程或结果。通过强化⾏为的语境和动机,寻找彼此之间的情感联结。


For Wen Daoguang, both poetry and images possess the power to reach the spiritual world. In "Reunion," he uses images as a language to write poetry, expressing his own state of existence and seeking connections of love. Wen categorizes emotional connections into three states: confrontation, entanglement, and symbiosis. 


He designs a series of actions incorporating childhood games and life experiences, inviting friends to participate, and photographs the process or results of these actions. By reinforcing the context and motivation of the actions, he seeks to find emotional connections between individuals.

这些图像并没有线性的叙事逻辑,⽽是如同意识般交织在⼀起,形成诗句之间⽆序的张⼒。《重逢》关注当代社会⽓候下的精神困境,结合了诗歌、图像以及精神分析理论。正如诗歌具有超越现实的可能,我探索了图像对抽象意识的表达能⼒。在书写这⾸图像诗歌的过程中我逐渐对内⼼的痛苦感到释怀,并深刻感受到了与好友之间的情感联结。


These images do not follow a linear narrative logic but are intertwined like consciousness, creating a tension akin to the disorder found between lines of poetry. "Reunion" focuses on the spiritual dilemmas in contemporary society, combining poetry, imagery, and psychoanalytic theory. 


Just as poetry has the potential to transcend reality, he explores the ability of images to express abstract consciousness. In the process of writing this image-poem, he gradually comes to terms with his inner pain and deeply feels the emotional connections with his friends.

图上艺术装置中的影像来源于艺术家路遥的AI艺术短片《梦》,多年来,路遥深入研究睡眠瘫痪症。睡眠瘫痪症,俗称“鬼压床”,是一种睡眠障碍,它发生在快速眼动睡眠期,此时肌肉仍处于放松的关闭状态,以避免梦境中的动作对现实世界产生影响。路遥从渴望摆脱它的控制,到渴望治愈它,最终达到接受它的境界,她从无数梦境中汲取灵感,与睡眠瘫痪症本身找到了微妙的平衡。而展览将她的影像与经历实体化,试图探讨在梦境与现实的夹缝中寻找新的表达可能。


The AI imagery in the art installation originates from the artist Lu Yao, who has delved deeply into sleep paralysis in his work and research over the years. Sleep paralysis, commonly described as 'being held down by a demon,' is a sleep disorder that occurs during the rapid eye movement (REM) sleep stage, when the muscles are still in a relaxed and shut-off state to prevent dream movements from affecting the real world. 


Lu Yao has evolved from a desire to escape its control, to a desire to cure it, and ultimately to acceptance of it. She draws inspiration from countless dreams and has found a delicate balance with sleep paralysis itself. The exhibition materializes her imagery and experiences, seeking to explore new expressive possibilities in the gap between dreams and reality.

五位艺术家以不同的方式探索着当代人的精神图景。展览像一面多棱镜,折射出当代社会中个体内心的万千色彩,邀请观众在艺术的光影中,与自己的内心展开对话。


Five artists explore the spiritual landscape of contemporary individuals in different ways. The exhibition, like a multifaceted mirror, reflects the myriad colors of individual inner worlds in contemporary society, inviting viewers to engage in a dialogue with their own hearts through the light and shadow of art.
