enjoy your read!
Para 1: At lunchtime, he sat alone and poked at the food in his lunchbox.
He glanced around as if he were searching for a place to belong. In that moment, I couldn't help but recall my own experience of arriving in this new neighborhood and entering the school, feeling like a fish out of water. The urge to fit in weighed heavily upon me, and the constant worry of not being accepted was so overwhelming that I could scarcely concentrate on my studies. I scanned the cafeteria, empty like the space around him, and a sudden clarity washed over me: perhaps we could be friends. But what could I do to break the ice?
Para 2: In my lunchbox was a beautiful, bright orange from Mr. xu’s garden.
Then, a thought struck me. I remembered how Mr. Xu, a complete stranger in the neighborhood, had welcomed me with his warm demeanor and endless generosity. Perhaps that was the true essence of "the gift is in the giving." When we offer something selflessly, we open ourselves to beauty and connection in return. As I pondered this, I realized the new student had nearly finished his meal. With newfound courage, I walked toward him, my lunchbox clutched in my hand, knowing I was on the cusp of beginning a real friendship—not just for me, but for him too.
