Izabela Zubko [Poland]
Grannie’s rocking chair (and other six poems)
A hungry garden
is rustling about love
it is drowning out
still life
that sat
in the silence of
the rocking chair
covering
the cold legs
with the first spring
without you
Bulrush
Tinged
with blue sky the wetness
is tickling the stems
The first walk
of the spring weather
is cutting through the silence
ice-bound until now
Together with silence
I will stop
the sun beams
over the edge of winter
I will enshroud a cozy place with it
so it may run across the garden
decorated with snowflakes
A moment
while exchanging breaths
we were walking the way
without background
into the basket
of our hands
the dreams were falling
we were eating them
while sipping
eager lovers’ tears
growing apart from each other
with a warm whisper
of uncertainty
Whisperer
I whispered myself
under the skin of your
conscience
at night rising
the glass to life
hidden in the shadow of eyelashes
you started to listened for
sensual rustles
in the light drops
scattering the night
you’ve ceased to fear
a half-smile
of a black cat
striding on the table
with tomorrow in its pocket
An incomplete circle
The moment
when I’m drinking wine poisoned with a tear
is transgressing the barrier of night
changing the silence
into the sound of dawn
The sullen time
is brightened up by the waking day
with the prospect of better tomorrow
with the exclusion of dusk
A beaming shield
Without the gleam
of your eyes
I’m helpless
I can’t recognize the paths
I’m erring the colors of the rainbow
With a glance
I stopped
the dance of stars
That you can
revive
