  • 🌟情境创设To prepare for the English Festival in our school, today we are going to read another story from Europe.

  • Now look at the picture, can you tell me what story it is?

  • Before listening to the story, I want to 🌟do a survey to know how well you know about the story.

  2. Number two two young men made new special clothes for the emperor - hmm most of you raiseD your hand. You are so familiar with the story.

  3. And last one the new clothes make the emperor different from others - oh most of you think so right.

  • 问题过渡So how is the Emperor different from others?

  • 🌟三顶帽子串起本堂课的主线now let's take a look about the story and today we are going to have 3  magical hats to help us 主线任务turn the story into a play.

  • They are the writer’s hat, the actor's hat and the audience hat.

  • Now firstly let's wear the writer's hat and try to know about the plot of the story.

  • Okay everyone please look at exercise 1 on your book, you can see 5 pictures right?

  • 听前预测Now can you order them according to your understanding of the story?

  • Hmm keep the answer in your mind.

  • Now we are going to listen to the conversation for the first time and please arrange the pictures according to time order.

  • Are you ready let's go !

  • ...

  • Oh what a funny story!

  • So I think the exercise is easy for you right?

  • Yes Andy please.

  • Hmm I agree with you that is the right order.

  • Thank you. So the right order of the pictures are like this and they can be divided into 4 parts according to the plot of the story right?

  • Now we are going to listen to the story for the second time.

  • This time please fill in the blanks in the lines the

  • characters have.

  • So you can read the lines yourself first.

  • Well okay everyone, after listening to the conversation,do you know about the lines.

  • We will check the answer together, who wants to have a try? Lisa please.

  • So you tell the setting of the story. Well thank you.

  • So this is the setting of the story, and who will tell this part in the story?

  • You know the word 新词narrator right? This is the person who tells the background information of the story and it's an important one.

  • Now let's move on to the rest part of the story and try to fill in the lines yourself.

  • You have listened to it, so I would like to invite 3 students to help us check the answer.

  • Uh what about Peter, please.

  • 1⃣️I think that is the right answer, and I like your pronunciation, thank you so much.

  • So the emperor wants the young man to make special clothes for him and they need some silk and gold.

  • And as you can see here, 阅读策略the pictures in our book can help us understand the new words better.

  • Good, and what about the third part? Lisa please.

  • 2⃣️So how do you understand the word 新词cheated?

  • Do you think they tell the truth? No, they lied. 

  • And what did they want? Money silk gold.

  • So how do you understand the word cheated?

  • Yeah he lied to the Emperor to get money right.

  • Thank you and this is a new word for you, please try to paraphrase it in English.

  • So here we can see in the second part the Emperor found out that he can't have the special clothes because he wasn't clever enough right.

  • You say the Emperor doesn't wear any clothes, but not exactly. Who can help him? Okay Tom please.

  • That's right. So in the conversation the boy said the emperor isn't wearing any clothes.

  • Pay attention to the tense here, because this is what is happening around us. Okay thank you.

  • 为主线任务服务So here we have the lines for the characters and when we want to memorize it and turn it into a play, do you think it's difficult? Maybe.

  • So what kind of words in the lines can help us memorize better?

  • Noun yeah, maybe the verbs.

  • Okay now let's have a look about the important

    verbs in the lines and take notes together.

  • Firstly two young men right 板书 story mountain关键词came to the city and what did they do to the emperor?

  • They cheated the emperor, what did they say?

  • People can't see the clothes unless they are clever.

  • And what happened to the Emperor?

  • Yes he couldn't see the clothes, he only saw his underwear right?

  • And what happened in the last part of the story?

  • Hmm he walked through the city and young man shouted he isn't wearing any clothes.

  • Very good, so the verbs can help us memorize the lines better.

applying & practicing

  • And now let's wear the actor's hat.

  • And try to memorize the lines with full emotion.

  • Now work in groups of four, you can choose a role you like.

  • Firstly we are going to play a game called 🌟Hot Seat.教育戏剧的活动形式“坐针毡游戏”

  • One of us will be the emperor and sit in the center of the class, and all of you can ask the emperor some questions.

  • I will be the emperor first, hmm now you can ask me some questions.

  • Yes I like the beautiful clothes.

  • Oh you want to know why I really want the new clothes, hmm maybe I want to look different from others and I really mind my appearance because I'm the emperor.

  • Hmm any other reasons?

  • I can't think of anything, what about you?

  • So you want to know whether I am lonely?

  • Hmm maybe I have a lot of money. I have many beautiful clothes but hmm maybe I have no friends, so the clothes are my only friends.

  • You need some time for discussion okay, so you can discuss in Group 4, for maybe three minutes and later we will share your ideas in the whole class ready go.

  • Wow it seems like you have a really heated discussion.

  • Hmm some groups are ready, okay everyone time is up.

  • Now let's have a discussion in a whole class.

  • What about this group what do you think of the Emperor?

  • Ah you think he is funny, why?

  • He seems so foolish everyone wants to laugh at him.

  • Ah you also think the Emperor is funny why?
