Honorable judges, good afternoon and here comes my lesson interpretation of this lesson.
This lesson is taken from book 5 unit 5 and it is a reading part of this unit and now I will begin my lesson interpretation from the following two parts.
The first part,the teaching preparation and the second part, the teaching procedures.
So now let's focus on the teaching preparation.
In preparing for this lesson, goals are the most important thing for me because they act as my starting point and destination.

In designing a lesson,before setting the goals, there are four questions to be answered first.
The first one,what to learn.That is the analysis of the text.
The second one, who will learn.That is the analysis of the students.
Third one, how to learn the teaching procedures
and lastly how they learned well,the learning assessment of the students.

What to learn?

So now let's start from the first question.What to learn.
🌟单元整体教学视角I analyzed this lesson based on the whole analysis of this unit.
So based on these analysis, I analyzed this lesson from three aspects what,why and how.
This lesson consists of a passage talking about beauty in common things.
This reading material talks about three Chinese traditional art forms and 明线the direct line of this lesson is to introduce the three art forms.
暗线The hidden line is to introduce the Chinese people's wisdom and hard work to the students.
So based on these learning objectives of the whole unit, I analyzed the learning objectives of this lesson.
So in this class, the students will read the title and the pictures, they will predict what the story is about.
They will read the text closely and sort out the specific information and ideas to make different kinds of mind maps.
They will also appreciate the beauty of Chinese traditional art forms and gain some cultural confidence.
Here comes the teaching key points of today's lesson.
In this lesson students will be guided to sort out and retell the specific information about three kinds of art forms.
That is the sky lanterns,the paper cutting and the clay art pieces by making mind maps.
Who will learn?

And now comes the previous knowledge.
🌟 通过问卷调查形式,客观量化学生的知识储备,但有点不明白后面的数字是什么意思Before the analysis of the students, it is very necessary to gain some basic understanding of the students by making a survey.
Based on this survey, here comes the analysis of the students.
🌟I analyzed their basis and their needs and that comes the challenge in today s lesson.
That is to find out the specific information and make mind maps on their own.
🌟 重点关注分析思路,请见上图So the difficult point of today's lesson is that the students will introduce the art forms with mind maps and appreciate Chinese traditional culture.
To break through these difficult point,I guided them to predict to read and make a mind map in group work.
How to learn?
(teaching procedures)
So basically the teaching procedures are divided into three major parts.
First pre reading part,second while reading part and lastly comes the post reading part.
And the learning activities are various that include watching, predicting, reading, thinking,writing and sharing and here comes the teaching procedures.
First they will look at the picture and observe the paper cutting and talk about it.
This is to connect them with the topic of today's lesson and then they will predict the content by reading the title and the picture.
🌟 值得借鉴的说课用语Students watch scheme and find the structure of the passage, because this passage follows a very clear structure, from general to specific.
And then they will read paragraph1 and answer some questions.
After reading paragraph1,students can choose one traditional art form to make a mind map in group work,so some students will choose to make the mind map of the sky lanterns.That is about paragraph two.
And they will retell the information and ideas of this mind map in class.
Some of them will choose to make a mind map of paragraph 3 about paper cuttings,so they will do this in groups and they will choose different kinds of art forms to make a mind map.
And later they will read paragraph 4 together and work out the process of making Chinese clay art pieces to understand the difficulty and the work it takes to make this kind of art work.
After that they will draw a mind map of paragraph 4 if they are interested.
And as the time is limited, I leave these kinds of drawing mind maps in their free time.
They will do it as homework.
Later they will have a discussion about the topic, the title again,how they understand the title beauty in common things.
Because these art forms are not only beautiful but also common in our daily life.
So they will have a deeper understanding of what is beautiful in these things.
That is the wisdom and hard work of Chinese people.
And then they will think about other Chinese traditional art forms and what they can do about them.
So these activities act as the direction line of this lesson and here comes the hidden line of this lesson.
Based on the English curriculum 2002, I used the activity based approach to help the students in the class.
That is to help them understand through learning, practice by applying and I create some real life situations to help them transfer their knowledge into their life and here comes the steps.
学习理解First they will learn and understand sky lanterns and paper cuttings by making mind maps.
So they will work in groups and choose one kind of art form to work on it.
应用实践And then to apply this and practice ,they will draw a mind map of paragraph on their own.
迁移创新To connect what they learned in class to their life experience, I guided them to have some discussion about beauty in common things again to gain some deeper understanding of the meaning behind.
And they will think about what they can do about these traditional art forms, so they will also think about the understanding of these traditional art forms deeply.
So here comes the homework of today‘s lesson.
They have several tasks to finish.
🌟 基于文本的实际情况The first one,because the structure doesn't include an ending part, so they‘ll write another paragraph to draw a conclusion of this passage.
🌟结合本课所练的阅读技能➕读后活动的拓展And second they can draw a mind map to introduce another kind of Chinese traditional art form.
🌟补充阅读Also I provided the students with some materials for their further exploration.
If they are interested, they can read something more about this topic.
This is to further explore the connections between knowledge and life.

And here comes the evaluation of the student's performance.
Throughout the whole class, I conducted this formative evaluation based on the main activities here, so whenever students were taking part in different kinds of activities, the evaluation is set here.
🌟I will evaluate their performance based on content and language.
多元评价After class they will also have a self-reflection and they will assess whether they perform well by themselves.
🌟3反面的教学反思Here comes my teaching reflection.
In this lesson,I guided them to read about passage and to draw some mind maps and to learn about Chinese traditional art forms.
And as time is limited, there is too much to achieve.
I left some of the tasks after class as their homework. 即便存在值得改进的问题,在课堂上也已经采取改进的措施,进行解决。
So in the next class,I will make the activities more concise.
