Southeast Asia’s first EV battery gigafactory opens in Indonesia
Kallanish（开阑商务信息咨询）报道，印度尼西亚总统佐科·维多多（Joko Widodo）周三宣布，东南亚首个也是最大的电动汽车电池工厂已经开业。
Indonesia has opened the first and largest EV battery gigafactory in Southeast Asia, its President Joko Widodo announced on Wednesday,Kallanish reports.
该工厂是现代汽车公司和LG新能源各出资50%的合资企业，每年可生产10吉瓦时的镍钴锰铝（NCMA）电池。其产品每年将为约15万辆现代和起亚车型提供动力。
The plant, a 50-50 joint venture between Hyundai Motor Company and LG Energy Solution, has capacity to produce 10 gigawatt-hours of nickel cobalt manganese aluminium (NCMA) cells per year. Its production will power around 150,000 Hyundai and Kia models annually.
该公司于2021年宣布在西爪哇省卡拉旺投资97.6亿美元。该项目包括一个冶炼厂，帮助整合印尼的自然资源（如镍、铝土矿和铜）并增加其价值。该工厂是对现代汽车公司在该省投资12.2亿美元的电动汽车制造厂的补充。
The $9.76 billion investment in Karawang, West Java province, was announced in 2021. It includes a smelter, helping integrate and add value to Indonesia’s natural resources such as nickel, bauxite and copper. The plant complements Hyundai’s $1.22 billion EV manufacturing factory in the province.
维多多在一份声明中说：“今天，我们翻开了新的篇章，为我们成为纯电动汽车生态系统和电动汽车领域的全球参与者的承诺奠定了里程碑。”
“Today we have begun a new chapter in laying a milestone in our commitment to becoming a global player in the battery cell EV ecosystem and also electric vehicles,” Widodo says in a statement.
该工厂预计将在年底实现满负荷生产，而合作伙伴现代汽车公司和LG新能源正准备进行扩建。这将涉及20亿美元的投资，以增加20吉瓦时的产能。
While the gigafactory is expected to reach full capacity by year-end, partners Hyundai and LGES are set to be preparing an expansion phase. This would involve an investment of $2 billion to add 20 GWh capacity.
周二，现代汽车印尼公司加大了宣传力度，以推广将在当地生产的全新KONA Electric。这款小型SUV售价为5亿印尼盾（约合30,526美元），“很快”即可交付。前500名预订客户将获得价值500万印尼盾的一年免费充电服务。
On Tuesday, Hyundai Motor Indonesia boosted its promotional efforts to market the all-new KONA Electric, to be manufactured locally. The small SUV will be priced at IDR 500 million ($30,526) and “soon” available for deliveries. The first 500 customers to pre-order will receive one year of free charging worth IDR 5m.
