AMNS eyes 17.8mt Andhra Pradesh steel plant

ArcelorMittal Nippon Steel (AMNS) India is to establish a 17.8 million tonnes/year integrated steel plant in Anakapalli, Andhra Pradesh, Kallanish learns.
印度议会下议院议员C.M. Ramesh本周在社交媒体X上宣布了该项目。Ramesh表示，该项目将创造约2万个工作岗位，政府将很快发布官方公告。
Lok Sabha member of parliament C.M. Ramesh announced the project this week on social media platform X. Ramesh said this project will create about 20,000 jobs, with an official government announcement to be made soon.
该厂将需要投资1.4万亿印度卢比（约合166亿美元），分两个阶段开发。
The plant will require an investment of INR 1.4 trillion ($16.6 billion) and will be developed in two phases.
该项目高炉产能为730万吨/年，一期工程初始投资额为7,000-8,000亿印度卢比。该公司已在第一阶段寻求2,600英亩的土地。
The project will have a blast furnace capacity of 7.3m t/y and require an initial investment of INR 700-800 billion in phase 1. The company has sought 2,600 acres of land in this first phase.
该公司计划投资6,000亿印度卢比，再增加1,050万吨/年的产能，并在第二阶段再寻求2,000英亩的土地。
It plans to add a further 10.5m t/y of capacity with an investment of INR 600 billion and seek an additional 2,000 acres of land in phase 2.
新设施预计将于2025年1月奠基。
The foundation stone for the new facility is expected to be laid in January 2025.

The government has confirmed the allocation of land necessary for the project, repurposing part of the nearly 2,000 acres initially designated for a bulk drug park near Anakapalli, as well as land earmarked for the Nakkapalli Park, which is part of the Visakha-Chennai Industrial Corridor.
AMNS印度公司是钢铁巨头安赛乐米塔尔和日本新日铁的合资企业。该公司于2022年表示，计划在奥里萨邦Kendrapara新建一座年产2,400万吨的钢厂。
AMNS India is a joint venture between steel major ArcelorMittal and Japan’s Nippon Steel. It indicated in 2022 that it was planning a 24m t/y capacity planned greenfield steel plant in Kendrapara, Odisha.
