Iranian mills postpone billet shipments amid power cuts
Kallanish（开阑商务信息咨询）报道，伊朗方坯买家已接到钢厂通知，他们之前签订的8月初可装货合同要到9月中旬才能准备就绪，这意味着要推迟45天。
Iranian billet buyers have been notified by mills that their previously signed contracts for early-August load-ready cargoes will be ready only by mid-September, meaning a 45-day delay,Kallanish notes.
今年，许多电弧炉钢厂都受到停电的严重影响。去年，电力供应的管理要好得多，钢厂在当月轮流供电。但今年，一些地区的钢厂已经完全停产。
Many of the electric arc furnace-route mills have been severely affected by power cuts this year. Last year, power supply was much better managed, with power available to mills on a rotating basis during the month. This year, however, mills in some states have shut down completely.
Esfahan Steel Company是伊朗唯一的高炉钢厂，因此受电力供应中断的影响最小。
Esfahan Steel Company is the sole blast furnace mill in Iran and is therefore least affected by the electricity supply curtailment.
一位贸易商说：“没有新的招标，也没有货源。生产商以合同中的不可抗力条款（由于停电）为由，将交货时间推迟近45天。”
One trader says: “There are no new tenders, no availability of cargo. Producers are postponing deliveries by nearly 45 days, citing the force majeure clause in the contract [as a result of power cuts]."
多年来，伊朗政府一直忽视对发电基础设施的投资，无视人口快速增长带来的工业和家庭日益增长的电力需求。因此，自2021年以来，包括钢铁工业在内的一些行业一直面临夏季停电状况。
For many years, governments in Iran have neglected to invest in electricity generation infrastructure, ignoring the increasing electricity needs of industry and households amid a fast-growing population. For this reason, some sectors, including the steel industry, have been subjected to summer power cuts since 2021.
