The Navy and an International Perspective

在11月18日的家长课堂中，1G班的薛雯琪妈妈带领孩子们走进军旅生涯的精彩世界。她曾任职于海军东海舰队作战支援部队，现在是一名人民警察。

During the parent workshop on 18 November, Xue Wenqi's (Class 1G) mother, introduced the children to the fascinating world of the military.  With her background in the operational support unit of the Navy's East Sea Fleet and her current role as a police officer, she offered her own unique perspective.  

通过照片和视频，孩子们亲眼见证我国海军的强大实力和参与外事活动的风采。海军不仅是流动的国土，更是国际医疗救助的先锋。薛妈妈分享了自己亲身护航亚丁湾的军旅经历。孩子们还学习了标准的敬军礼动作，感受军人的荣耀与责任。

Through photos and videos, the children saw the navy's strength and its involvement in international activities.  The navy serves as both a mobile base and a leader in global medical aid.  Xue Wenqi's mother shared her personal experience of escorting ships in the Gulf of Aden, and the children learned the correct military salute, gaining insight into the honour and responsibility of being a soldier.

Safety Awareness and Life Practice

转业成为警察后，薛妈妈结合实际案例，提醒孩子们注意人身安全和交通安全，通过生动的故事和经验分享，增强孩子们的安全防范意识。

Now a police officer, Xue's mother also emphasized the importance of personal and traffic safety using real life examples. Through engaging stories and shared experiences, she heightened the children's understanding of safety precautions.

11月12日，二年级2F班王祖泽同学的妈妈——孙文娟女士带来了一场主题为关于保护肾健康的专题讲座，共同探索肾脏健康的奥秘。

On 12 November, Ms. Sun Wenjuan, mother of Wang Zuze (Class 2F), gave a special talk on kidney health. 

孙医生是上海市第六人民医院的肾内科主治医师。她以其深厚的医学底蕴，用生动有趣的讲解，引领孩子们走进肾脏的奇妙世界。讲座中，孙医生从饮食、作息、运动等方面，传授了保护肾脏的秘诀。她倡导孩子们多喝水、均衡饮食、充足睡眠、规律作息，以及适量运动，让肾脏在爱的呵护下茁壮成长，鼓励孩子们成为自己健康的小卫士。

Dr. Sun, an attending physician in the Department of Nephrology at the Sixth People's Hospital of Shanghai, used her extensive medical knowledge and engaging explanations to introduce the children to the fascinating world of kidneys. During the lecture, Dr. Sun shared tips on protecting kidneys through diet, daily habits, and exercise. She encouraged the children to drink plenty of water, eat a balanced diet, get enough sleep, follow a regular schedule, and exercise moderately to help their kidneys grow strong and to take charge of their own health.

现场互动频繁，孩子们积极提问，孙医生耐心解答，笑声与掌声交织，构成了一幅温馨和谐的画面。这场讲座不仅让孩子们受益匪浅，更让他们深刻认识到健康的重要性。

The session was interactive, with children eagerly asking questions and Dr. Sun providing thoughtful answers. This lecture not only provided valuable insights but also helped the children understand the importance of maintaining good health.

三D班王梓晗与5I班王梓歆的爸爸王晨先生是乐高（中国）的品牌总监，他分别在10月21日和12月16日为三年级和五年级的学生带来了有趣的乐高课堂，探索积木中的奇妙世界。

Mr. Wang Chen, father of Wang Zihan (Class 3D) and Wang Zixin (Class 5I) and Brand Director of LEGO (China), conducted engaging LEGO workshops for Grade 3 and Grade 5 students on 21 October and 16 December. These sessions introduced the students to the amazing world of building blocks.

在王爸爸的精彩讲解中，孩子们不仅知道了乐高积木的发展故事，还知道乐高积木可以培养耐心和专注力以及锻炼解决问题的能力等。不仅如此，当孩子们完成一个复杂的乐高作品时，他们会感到无比的自豪和自信。

The children learned not only about the history and development of LEGO bricks but also discovered how playing with LEGO can help build patience, concentration, and problem-solving skills. Completing a complex LEGO project filled the students with pride and boosted their confidence.

4D班张远志爸爸——张宏亮教授，是复旦大学环境科学与工程系的杰出教授和博士生导师。11月5日，他引领着四年级的孩子们踏上了一场名为“气候变化的时间旅行”的奇妙旅程，深入探讨了东亚历史与气候变化之间的密切联系。

Professor Zhang Hongliang, father of Zhang Yuanzhi (Class 4D), is a distinguished professor and doctoral supervisor in the Department of Environmental Science and Engineering at Fudan University. On 5 November, he guided Grade 4 students on an intriguing journey called "Time Travel of Climate Change," exploring the deep connection between East Asian history and climate change.

通过这次探索，孩子们得以洞见气候变化如何深刻影响古代东亚的农业、日常生活乃至朝代的更迭。极端天气事件，如安史之乱、蒙古帝国的崛起和太平天国运动等历史转折点，都在孩子们面前一一展现，揭示了它们如何塑造了历史的进程。

During this journey, the children learned how climate change had a significant impact on agriculture, daily life, and even the rise and fall of dynasties in ancient East Asia. This experience not only provided a deeper understanding of history but also sparked the children's interest in climate change. It helped them appreciate the crucial role of climate in human life and the importance of tackling climate change.

不仅是一次历史的深度学习，更是一次启发性的教育体验，它激发了孩子们对气候变化的兴趣，使他们理解到气候对人类生活的重要性以及应对气候变化的必要性。张教授的这次知识之旅，不仅丰富了孩子们的历史知识，也为他们打开了一扇通往未来科学探索的大门。

Professor Zhang's educational journey enriched the students' historical knowledge and opened the door to exploring future scientific endeavours.
