2024年10月12日下午,美国北卡州立大学新教学法研究所主任Ms Marie Himes和研究所专家Dr Sarah Bausell以及Ms Amy Walter一行3人如约莅临我校,进行一年一度的学术交流活动。在为期一周的交流活动中,北卡专家团队与我校开展了一系列广泛且深入的学术交流与合作探讨,涉及学术项目交流、课堂教学指导、教师培训与发展、学生升学指导等方面,为我校进一步深化国际教育、加强双方教育合作铺就坚实的基础。
On the afternoon of October 12, 2024, Ms. Marie Himes, Director of the New Teaching Methodology Institute at North Carolina State University, along with experts Dr. Sarah Bausell and Ms. Amy Walter, arrived at our school as scheduled for the annual academic exchange. During the week-long event, the expert team from North Carolina engaged in a series of extensive and in-depth academic discussions and collaborations with our school. These exchanges covered areas such as academic project collaborations, classroom teaching guidance, teacher training and development, and student counseling for further studies. This laid a solid foundation for our school to further deepen international education and strengthen educational cooperation between both institutions.
学术项目:
创新教育模式,跨文化交流合作
学术项目是我校与北卡州立大学新教学研究所合作的重点项目,此次来访,北卡专家团队与我校教师进行了深入的合作交流,重点围绕项目式探究学习(PBI Global)和跨文化交流(Cross-Cultural Virtual Exchange)两大项目展开。
The academic projects are a key focus of our collaboration with the New Teaching Methodology Institute at North Carolina State University. During this visit, the expert team from North Carolina engaged in in-depth discussions with our faculty, focusing on two major projects: Project-Based Inquiry (PBI Global) and Cross-Cultural Virtual Exchange. These discussions highlighted the importance of both project-based learning and intercultural communication, paving the way for further collaboration and academic innovation.
✴ PBI Global项目
作为我校的传统特色学术项目,本年度教学部负责该项目的教师团队是Simon老师、Michael老师、Kim老师、徐煜喆老师和刘泉暐老师共5人组成的PBI项目组,他们将带领参与该项目的同学们共同进行项目式探究学习。北卡专家团队与我校PBI项目组老师进行了热烈而深入的交流,双方就如何通过项目式探究学习提升学生的自主学习能力和解决实际问题的能力进行了建设性讨论,为我校进一步丰富教学手段、实现创新教育提供了有力支持。双方确定了今年的探究主题是:良好健康与福祉(Good Health and Well-being)。
As one of our school's longstanding academic programs, this year's PBI (Project-Based Inquiry) group is led by a team of five teachers from the Teaching Department: Mr. Simon, Mr. Michael, Ms. Kim, Mr. Xu Yuzhe, and Mr. Liu Quanwei. They will guide students in engaging with project-based inquiry learning. The expert team from North Carolina held enthusiastic and in-depth discussions with our PBI project teachers. Both sides engaged in constructive dialogue on how project-based inquiry learning can enhance students' independent learning abilities and their capacity to solve real-world problems. This exchange provided strong support for enriching our teaching methods and achieving innovative education. Both teams agreed on this year's inquiry theme: Good Health and Well-being.
此外,北卡专家团队在与学生的座谈交流中,特别介绍了联合国可持续发展目标(SDGs),同时号召和带领十年级学生发起了首届SNA SDG粉笔艺术挑战赛。这是一次结合创造力与社会责任感的活动,旨在激发学生通过艺术表现形式来表达对联合国可持续发展目标的理解与关注。学生们按班级分组,以粉笔为媒介,在校园内展开海报创作。学生们积极思考并通过五彩的粉笔勾勒出他们对可持续发展的理解,一张张精彩的海报,不仅展示了北美学子的社会责任感和艺术表达力,也表明了北美学子“让我们一起努力,让世界变得更美好”的决心。
Additionally, during their discussions with students, the North Carolina expert team introduced the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and encouraged the 10th-grade students to launch the first-ever SNA SDG Chalk Art Challenge. This event combined creativity with social responsibility, aiming to inspire students to express their understanding and concern for the UN's Sustainable Development Goals through artistic expression. Students, grouped by class, used chalk as their medium to create posters across the campus. Through vibrant colors, the students thoughtfully depicted their interpretations of sustainability. These impressive posters not only showcased the social responsibility and artistic talent of SNA students but also reflected their determination to "work together to make the world a better place."
✴ Cross-Cultural Virtual Exchange 跨文化交流项目
在全球化教育背景下,通过跨文化交流来加强对多元文化的理解和尊重已日趋重要。北卡专家团队与我校负责该项目的教师团队黄河老师、黄立武老师、贾艳晶老师和张天卫老师共同召开跨文化交流专题活动会议。本次会议确定今年与我校合作开展交流的伙伴是来自北卡罗来纳州罗利市Oberlin中学。在北卡专家团队的牵头下,Oberlin中学的三位专注于世界语言和双语沉浸教育的中文教师将带领学生与我校师生共同参与跨文化交流项目。Oberlin中学的指导教师与我校教师将共同策划本年度的交流活动,共同决策每次交流的目标和主题,以及交流活动的具体细节。
In the context of globalized education, strengthening understanding and respect for diverse cultures through cross-cultural exchanges has become increasingly important. The North Carolina expert team, together with our faculty team—comprised of Mr. Huang He, Mr. Huang Liwu, Ms. Jia Yanjing, and Mr. Zhang Tianwei—held a special meeting on cross-cultural exchange activities. During the meeting, it was confirmed that this year’s exchange partner would be Oberlin Middle School from Raleigh, North Carolina. Led by the North Carolina expert team, three Chinese language teachers specializing in world languages and bilingual immersion education from Oberlin Middle School will guide their students in participating in the cross-cultural exchange program with our school. Teachers from Oberlin and SNA will jointly plan this year’s exchange activities, deciding on the goals, themes, and detailed arrangements for each exchange session.

The Cross-Cultural Virtual Exchange Program aims to leverage a virtual platform to enable remote learning and intercultural interactions among students from diverse cultural backgrounds. This initiative offers students the opportunity to broaden their global perspectives and enhance their international communication skills. We believe that through this program, we can foster deeper cultural understanding and exchange between schools in China and the U.S., helping students grow in a multicultural environment!
教学指导:
开放课堂教学,促进教师专业成长
北卡专家团队深度参与我校的课堂教学活动,观摩并指导了5位老师的课程,涉及马贞锐老师的AP经济学课程、神宁婧老师的AP艺术设计课程、刘泉暐老师的心理学课程、黄立武老师的EAP课程以及吴浩辰老师的STEM课程。北卡专家团队在课前跟5位老师分别沟通了解讲课的内容和学情,课中全程参与认真聆听,课后及时跟相关老师进行沟通指导和交流。专家们对5位老师的课堂教学设计、师生互动以及学生的参与度给予了高度评价。
The North Carolina expert team was deeply involved in our school’s classroom teaching activities, observing and providing guidance on lessons taught by five of our teachers. These lessons included Mr. Ma Zhenrui's AP Economics course, Ms. Shen Ningjing's AP Art and Design course, Mr. Liu Quanwei's Psychology course, Mr. Huang Liwu's EAP course, and Mr. Wu Haochen's STEM course. Prior to each class, the experts had detailed discussions with the teachers to understand the lesson content and student context. They actively participated in the lessons by listening attentively and, afterward, engaged in discussions with the teachers, offering feedback and guidance. The expert team highly praised the teachers’ lesson planning, teacher-student interactions, and the high level of student engagement in the classroom.

Mr. Ma Zhenrui's Economics class used case studies to help students deeply understand the practical application of supply and demand theory. Ms. Shen Ningjing's Art class showcased how artistic practice can ignite students' creativity and design thinking, while Mr. Liu Quanwei's Psychology class guided students in conducting psychological experiments, fostering their scientific inquiry skills. These lessons fully demonstrated our teachers' strong pedagogical expertise and innovative teaching methods in their respective fields. The North Carolina expert team provided valuable suggestions on classroom teaching, sharing cutting-edge international teaching concepts and practical experiences. This exchange further enhanced the quality of our teaching and the professional development of our faculty.
教师培训:
提升教育素养,探索社会情感学习
北卡专家团队与我校的教师们以“社会情感学习(SEL)”为主题,拉开了教师培训活动的序幕。北卡专家团队首先与我校负责该培训的吴涵倬老师进行SEL主题研讨会,围绕社会情感学习的最新理论与实践应用进行了深入交流。明确SEL培训的核心在于提升教师的社会情感教学能力,帮助学生更好地管理情绪、发展社交技巧,这为学校整体教育质量的提升提供了新的理论支撑。
The North Carolina expert team, in collaboration with our teachers, kicked off a teacher training program with the theme of "Social Emotional Learning (SEL)." The experts first held an in-depth seminar with Ms. Wu Hanzhuo, who leads the training at our school, discussing the latest theories and practical applications of SEL. The focus of the discussion was on enhancing teachers' abilities in social-emotional instruction, which helps students manage their emotions more effectively and develop social skills. This exchange provided new theoretical support for raising the overall educational quality at our school.
随后,北卡专家团队进一步与我校教师共同参与了社会情感能力的专题培训活动,帮助教师们掌握更为系统的教学策略和具体的实施方法。现场气氛热烈活跃,老师们兴致盎然积极参与并提出自己的困惑和思考。这些培训为日常教学注入了新的活力,也为教师们提供了切实可行的策略来培养学生的情感管理和人际交往能力。
Following the seminar, the North Carolina expert team engaged further with our teachers in a specialized training session focused on developing social-emotional competencies. This training helped teachers acquire more systematic teaching strategies and practical implementation methods. The atmosphere was lively and engaging, with teachers actively participating and raising their own questions and insights. This training not only infused fresh energy into everyday teaching but also equipped teachers with actionable strategies to foster students’ emotional regulation and interpersonal skills.
学生论文与升学指导:
规划学术未来,助力学生成长
北卡专家团队对我校的升学指导工作一向关注,尤其注重提升我校学生的学术论文写作与升学规划能力。在学术辅导环节,北卡专家分别为部分学生的论文提供了详细的指导,涵盖了从研究框架构建到文献综述撰写等关键环节。通过这些指导,学生不仅提升了学术思维能力,论文的质量也得到了明显的提高。
The North Carolina expert team has always placed great emphasis on our school's college counseling efforts, particularly focusing on enhancing students' academic writing and college planning skills. During the academic mentoring session, the experts provided detailed guidance on several students' research papers, covering key aspects such as constructing research frameworks and writing literature reviews. Through this guidance, students not only improved their academic thinking skills, but the overall quality of their papers also saw significant improvement.
此外,北卡专家团队还为有意向申请留学的学生提供了升学申请及面试技巧的指导,模拟了国际升学面试的流程与要求,帮助学生熟系相关环节提前做好准备。学生通过这次一对一专项辅导,不仅提升了面试技巧,还增强了自信心,受益匪浅。
In addition, the North Carolina expert team provided valuable guidance to students interested in applying for international universities, focusing on application and interview techniques. They conducted mock interviews, simulating the actual process and requirements of international admissions, helping students become familiar with the key steps and prepare in advance. Through these one-on-one sessions, students not only honed their interview skills but also gained greater confidence, leaving them profoundly enriched by the experience.
院校合作:
深化合作关系,共谱教育新篇章
我校自创立伊始就与北卡州立大学新教学法研究所建立了合作关系,此次北专家团队来访,为双方的合作注入了新的活力。北卡专家团队与我校校领导举行了高层会议,重点讨论了教师培训、资源共享、跨学科合作及国际交流等方面的深入合作。

Since its inception, our school has established a collaborative relationship with the North Carolina State University Institute for Innovative Teaching Methods. The recent visit from the North Carolina expert team has injected new energy into this partnership. During high-level meetings between the expert team and our school leadership, in-depth discussions focused on areas such as teacher training, resource sharing, interdisciplinary collaboration, and international exchange.
The North Carolina experts highly praised our school's achievements in educational innovation and the advancement of internationalization. They expressed their desire for long-term collaboration to further enhance our school's global education standards. Confident in our efforts to cultivate students with a global perspective and international competitiveness, the experts look forward to more cooperative projects in the future, aiming to solidify the foundation for mutual success in educational collaboration.

On October 20th, the North Carolina expert team successfully concluded their week-long visit, with our school leadership personally bidding them farewell and extending heartfelt gratitude. During their brief stay, the North Carolina experts built strong bonds with our teachers and students, and both sides achieved fruitful results in academic exchanges and collaboration.
The visit marked a new chapter in educational cooperation between both parties, enriched by a series of meaningful and productive interactions. This cross-cultural exchange has not only expanded our school's global perspective but also provided invaluable academic support and practical experience to our faculty and students. We look forward to continuing our close collaboration with the North Carolina experts in the future, jointly exploring the boundless possibilities of educational innovation. Together, we aim to further elevate our international education efforts and write a new chapter in the ongoing development of both institutions.
