The rotator cuff is a group of 4 muscles that play a key role in stabilising and moving the shoulder joint. Whether lifting weights 🏋️, throwing a ball 🎾, or reaching for that jar on the top shelf, these muscles are hard at work!

Meet the Team:(认识团队)
1️⃣ Supraspinatus – Located at the top of the shoulder blade, it initiates arm abduction (lifting your arm out to the side) and helps with shoulder stability.

2️⃣ Infraspinatus – Found on the back of the shoulder blade, it’s responsible for external rotation of the arm and stabilising the joint during movement.

3️⃣ Teres Minor – A small but mighty muscle along the edge of the scapula. It also supports external rotation and works with the infraspinatus to keep your shoulder steady.

4️⃣ Subscapularis – Hiding on the front of the scapula, this muscle controls internal rotation and ensures your shoulder remains stable during complex movements.

The area where the supraspinatus tendon attaches to the bone has what’s known as a watershed zone—a region with minimal blood supply. This lack of consistent blood flow makes it harder for the tissue to repair itself after injury or overuse.
