“隔帘观月,雾里看花”
“织画此为永春特产。其法以佳纸作字或画,乃剪为长条细缕而以纯白之条缕经纬之,然后加以彩色。与古所谓罨画及香笔记挈画相类。”(《永春州志》卷十一)
"Painting is a speciality of Yongchun. The method of writing or painting on good paper is cut into long thin strips and pure white strips of thread, and then colored. Similar to the ancient so-called javascript and incense notes." (Annals of Yongchun Prefecture, Vol. 11)
永春纸织画是闽南侨乡永春县独有的民间传统手工艺品,与杭州丝织画、苏州缂丝画、四川竹帘画齐名,被誉为中国四大家织。其历史悠久,相传源于隋末唐初,在永春民间曾有“指头一响,黄金万两”的传说。
Yongchun paper weaving painting is a unique folk traditional handicraft in Yongchun County, the hometown of overseas Chinese in southern Fujian Province. It is as famous as the Hangzhou silk weaving painting, Suzhou Kesi silk painting and Sichuan bamboo curtain painting, and is known as the four most popular weaving in China. Its long history, according to legend, originated in the late Sui and early Tang Dynasties, Yongchun folk had a "finger ring, gold thousand two" legend.

同时,纸织画的题材广泛,内容有山水花鸟、飞禽走兽、历史人物、神话故事、民间传说等。常见的形式有中堂、挂屏、对联等,其规格仅有四种。永春纸织画的画面经纬纵横,物象朦胧隐现,为历代群众和达官显贵所珍重。人们历来都喜欢把纸织画作为艺术品,或悬挂在热闹的厅堂,或点缀于幽静的书房,或作为珍贵礼品馈赠亲友。

Production process
纸织画要经过绘画、剪裁、编织、裱褙四道最主要的工序才能完成。在制作时,将画好的中国画托裱,用小刀裁切成1—2毫米宽的纸条为经线,取同等规格的白纸作纬线,用手工重新编织成画面,最后经裱褙和补色方才完成。
Paper painting through painting, cutting, weaving, and paper hanging are four main processes to complete. In the production, the painted Chinese painting mounted, with a knife cut into a 1-2 mm wide strip of paper as the warp line, takes the same specification of white paper as the weft line, with the hand to re-weave the picture, and finally by hanging and complementary colour before completion.
1.绘画:在宣纸上作画,与一般的国画不同的是,纸织画的原画更重工彩,颜色艳丽,浓淡分清,轮廓分明。
1. Painting: Painting on rice paper is different from ordinary Chinese painting, and the original painting of paper weaving painting is more heavy colour, bright colour, with clear shade and clear outline.
2.剪裁:用特制的裁刀将绘好的图画裁成2毫米宽的细纸条(部分技艺高超的纸织画能在1cm之间裁剪出200目,每条不超过0 .5mm),头尾不断,作为经纸条。
2. Cutting: Use a special cutting knife to cut the painted picture into a 2mm wide thin strip (some highly skilled paper weaving pictures can cut 200 mesh between 1cm, each strip does not exceed 0.5mm), the head and tail are constantly used as a strip.
3.编织:将白色宣纸切成与经纸条宽度相等的细纸条,作为纬纸条。然后,用特制的织机,经纬交穿,织成纸痕纵横的纸织画。这一步是纸织画能够产生朦胧效果的关键。
3. Weaving: Cut the white rice paper into a thin strip equal to the width of the warp strip as a filling strip. Then, with a special loom, the warp and weft are crossed and woven into paper marks and stripes. This step is the key to creating a hazy effect.

Inheritance and development
随着国家层面对非遗技艺传承的重视,永春纸织画的未来又变得明朗起来。永春纸织画第五代传承人方碧双,在传承传统技艺的同时不断尝试新材料的应用。她率先使用金丝线、银线、灰线等材料,使得传统的以纸为单一材料编织的纸织画更富立体感,更绚丽多彩。这种创新不仅丰富了纸织画的艺术表现力,也为其注入了新的活力。
With the national level's attention to the inheritance of intangible cultural heritage skills, the future of Yongchun paper weaving painting has become clear. Fang Bi Shuang, the fifth-generation inheritor of Yongchun paper painting, is constantly trying to apply new materials while inheriting traditional skills. She pioneered the use of gold thread, silver thread, grey thread and other materials, making the traditional paper weaving with paper as a single material more three-dimensional, and more colourful. This innovation not only enriches the artistic expression of paper-woven painting but also injects new vitality into it.
《宋元海丝宴》
同时,方碧双在纸织画的题材上也进行了大胆尝试和创新。她不仅创作了传统的山水、人物、花鸟等题材的作品,还创作了具有现代元素和文化内涵的作品。例如,纸织画作品《宋元海丝宴》,通过纸织画艺术将一道道具有宋元美学特征的代表性菜肴,生动具体地呈现在画面上,充分展现了中华文化兼收并蓄、生生不息的特点。
At the same time, Fang Bi Shuang also made bold attempts and innovations in the theme of paper painting. She not only created works with traditional subjects such as landscapes, figures, flowers and birds but also created works with modern elements and cultural connotations. For example, in the paper painting "Song and Yuan Sea Silk Banquet", through the paper painting art, a series of representative dishes with the aesthetic characteristics of the Song and Yuan Dynasties are vividly presented in the picture, fully demonstrating the characteristics of the eclectic and endless Chinese culture.
