On This Silent Christmas Eve: Reflecting on a Year of Drama, Growth, and Serendipity
It’s Christmas Eve, a night that seems serene and still. Yet, I can’t help but reflect on the moments that defined my 2024—a journey filled with twists, serendipity, and growth.
People often ask me, “Don’t you get tired, flying across Africa, meeting so many people, and writing so much?” My answer is simple:“No, not at all. In fact, I feel incredibly fortunate.”
Why? Because this year, I experienced an extraordinary flow of energy—an indescribable Chemistry—that transformed every interaction into something special. My words and my experiences seemed to attract people with remarkable stories of their own. In turn, their stories opened my eyes to a world far more colorful and diverse than I could have imagined. This flow of connection left me convinced: the world is so much larger, richer, and more exciting than we often give it credit for.
I’ve come to realize that perhaps I’m something of a “special presence,” and this uniqueness draws other extraordinary individuals toward me. It’s a kind of rare, magical serendipity I deeply treasure. Every encounter feels like an expedition into another person’s thoughts and experiences—each one so fascinating and profound that we end up talking for five, six, even seven or eight hours, often forgetting the passage of time.
Perhaps it’s my writing and my own experiences that create this unique magnetism, encouraging others to open up and share their lives with me. These stories, in turn, have become an endless source of inspiration for my writing.

•Angolan entrepreneurs, deeply attuned to the survival tactics of African markets, yet brimming with curiosity about external resources. Their stories revealed a profound resilience and ingenuity unique to their environment.
•Western business leaders, equipped with cutting-edge models and innovative ideas, yet grappling with the complexities of finding a foothold in Africa’s unpredictable realities. Their journeys showcased a blend of determination and adaptability that was nothing short of inspiring.
•Chinese entrepreneurs, eager to replicate their domestic successes in Africa, all while navigating the rhythm and culture of this vast continent. One shared how he used local resources to redefine his business vision, his unwavering optimism and perseverance leaving an indelible mark on me.
Each person’s journey was rich enough to leave me in awe—unbelievable business decisions, dramatic turnarounds from failure to success, and life-changing moments of chance and serendipity. These stories reminded me just how extraordinary and diverse the world truly is.
These narratives are not just theirs; they have also become part of mine. Every conversation sparked new inspiration, and every connection unleashed a flow of energy.It’s amazing how words, ideas, and stories can create such a powerful ripple effect.
What’s even more extraordinary is that none of these encounters were planned—they all seemed to happen by some inexplicable “law of attraction.” Perhaps it was my platform, my writing, or even my personality that made them feel compelled to reach out and connect.
