It's time to disclose Ukrainian
military casualties figures, as the secrecy might have a subversive impact on
the country's society, military expert Mykhailo Zhirokhov said in an interview

stating the actual number is "significantly lower" without providing

Zhirokhov argued that it's time
to disclose casualty figures, suggesting that transparency is more preferable
nowadays. "The public already has a general understanding of the scale of
losses through local memorials and the personal impact on families," he

Zhirokhov estimates Ukrainian
losses to be comparable to Russia's, citing sources indicating 82,000 confirmed
Russian fatalities. He believes official statistics likely include not only
combat deaths but also non-combat losses, missing personnel, and significant

A recent report by The Economist
estimated 60,000–100,000 Ukrainian soldiers have died, with an additional
400,000 wounded and unfit for combat. These figures do not account for civilian

The Ukrainian General Staff
