The robotics industry thrives in Beijing's Tongzhou District. The area has become a hub for robotics innovation, fostering 27 leading enterprises specializing in robotics services and core components, widely applied in smart manufacturing, logistics, healthcare, and emergency response.

机器人产业的创新发展成为通州区未来发展的重要支撑。截至目前，通州区已累计培育重点机器人企业27家，产品涵盖工业机器人、特种机器人、服务机器人及机器人核心零部件，已广泛用于智能制造、仓储物流、医疗健康、应急救援等行业领域。

The 127-year-old Beijing Erqi Factory, birthplace of China’s first diesel locomotive, is undergoing a second transformation. Following its earlier redevelopment into a tech hub and a national winter sports training base, the remaining factory space will be turned into an intelligent manufacturing park. Construction is currently underway, with completion expected next year. 

有着127年历史的北京二七厂又将蜕变，诞生新中国第一台内燃机车的厂区将成为智能制造新地标。22日上午，中车二七智能制造园正式开工建设，预计明年亮相。2018年，二七厂毅然挥别传统制造业，踏上转型征途。老厂区北部转型为“二七厂1897科创城”；南侧则与冰雪结缘，建设成为国家冰雪运动训练科研基地。此次蜕变的是二七厂剩余老厂房。

Beijing is implementing "remote supervision" to improve its business environment. Utilizing AI, IoT sensors, big data analysis, and remote inspections, the initiative minimizes disruptions to companies while improving regulatory precision. By 2026, over 60% of inspections are expected to be conducted remotely.

为进一步优化营商环境，北京探索运用视频AI识别、设备感知、物联感知、数据比对、大数据筛查、远程检查、网络巡查、企业自主提交材料等8种方式全面推行“非现场监管”，减少对企业正常经营活动的打扰，提高监管精准性。预计到2026年，全市非现场检查量将超过60%。

Travelers heading home for the Spring Festival will benefit from extended train services. Starting January 5, China’s railway services will operate 13,028 passenger trains, an increase of 230 compared to the current schedule. Beijing North Railway Station will add 26 high-speed routes, including new services to Xi’an, Lanzhou, and Chengdu, making travel to the central-western cities more convenient. 

明年1月5日零时起，全国铁路将实行新的列车运行图。调图后，全国铁路安排图定旅客列车13028列，较现图增加230列。具体来看，北京北（清河）站增开动车组列车26列，首次开行前往西安、兰州、成都等城市列车，加强首都与中西部城市间交流，京张高铁将再扩容。

The National Centre for the Performing Arts (NCPA) celebrated its 17th anniversary with an open-day arts festival on December 22. Over the years, the theatre hosted 14,000 performances, attracted 14.2 million visitors, and staged 112 original productions. It also fostered global partnerships with over 140 countries and conducted 15,000 art education events for 5.7 million participants.

国家大剧院建院17周年公众开放日艺术节在22日当天如约归来。开幕运营17年来，国家大剧院共上演约1.4万场商业演出，接待观众1420余万人次，推出自制剧目112部，举办展览近650场，与全球140多个国家的政府部门、艺术机构等建立交流往来，1.5万场艺术普及演出活动惠及570余万观众。

Catering to families and office workers in the northern industrial parks of Beijing's Haidian district, a new shopping mall, Haidian Joy City, opened on December 21, offering 188,000 square meters of retail space across 7 floors. Featuring over 280 brands, including 60 flagship and first stores, it is the first shopping mall in Beijing to incorporate elements inspired by the Forbidden City.
