Peking University and Tsinghua University are among the top ten leading universities in blood donation and hematopoietic stem cell treatment awareness promotion in Beijing. In 2024, the Beijing branch of China’s Marrow Donor Program recruited nearly 4000 volunteers, nearly 40% of which are university teachers and students.

北京将再添一座三甲儿科医院
Construction of the new campus of the Beijing Children's Hospital of Capital Medical University is planned to start in June this year and be completed by the end of 2029. Located in Beijing E-Town, the new campus will have 1200 beds and house the National Medical Center for Children.

Beijing Institute of Fashion Technology Tongzhou campus will open in Zhangjiawan Design Town in Beijing’s Sub-center. The 450,000 square meter campus will integrate education, scientific research, and social services, mainly focusing on art and fashion majors.
2025年，城市副中心将优化城市空间格局，加快特色小镇提质升级发展。其中，张家湾设计小镇将迎北京服装学院通州校区落地发展，校区总建筑规模达45万平方米，将集教育、科研和社会服务于一体，主要布局艺术、时尚类学科群，打造“时尚学园都市”，实现“产城学”融合发展。
北京环球影城周边将建三条城市画廊
Several new boulevards, gallery-style avenues, gardens and parks will be built in Beijing's Sub-center this year. Covering an area of around 17,000 square meters, three roads around Universal Beijing Resort will be renovated.
今年，北京城市副中心将增一批风景林荫路、城市画廊、花园式街区、全龄友好化公园绿地，变成更加生态、精致、舒适、充满文化气息的“花园城市”。其中，环球影城周边九棵树中路、万盛中二街、荟萃南路将升级为城市画廊，项目总体面积约1.7万平方米。

A set of commemorative stamps for the Year of the Snake went on sale in Beijing on Jan 5. The two stamps are inspired by the Dunhuang murals and traditional customs, cleverly combining the images of snakes with auspicious symbols.

The first China Post store, specializing in exhibiting and selling foreign stamps, opened in Beijing on Jan 5. The store will act as a platform for foreign stamp exhibitions, Sino-foreign stamp collecting cultural exchange, post related culture activities, and philatelic education.

The 3rd Xinfadi New Year Goods Festival is ongoing in Beijing and will run until Jan 26. 香山公园碧云寺新年推出新展览

A new exhibition showcasing the history and culture of Biyun Temple is ongoing in Xiangshan Park in Beijing. The exhibition displays the 700-year development of the temple, highlighting its architectural features and garden layout.
新年伊始，香山公园碧云寺也是新意满满，推出新展《唯有碧云称纤秾——碧云寺历史文化展》，第一次完整全面地展现碧云寺的历史文化内涵。展览通过深度挖掘碧云寺的历史文化、建筑文化、碑刻文化等方面内容，按照历史沿革的时间顺序，展现碧云寺从初创时期至今近700年的发展脉络，重点展示碧云寺鼎盛时期的建筑特色、园林布局等。
北京高校专业冰场陆续开放

The ice sports venues of Tsinghua University, Beijing Sport University, and the Capital University of Physical Education and Sports are now open to the public. Visitors can enjoy ice hockey, curling, and skating. The outdoor ice rinks in Beijing University of Civil Engineering and Architecture and Peking University will open soon.
进入小寒节气，清华大学、北京体育大学、首都体育学院等高校的冰上运动场馆陆续对市民开放，北京建筑大学、北京大学等拥有户外冰场的学校也已做好准备，静待降温。其中，清华大学北体育馆地下二层的冰上运动中心建成1年多，已开放预约权限，校外人员可入校体验冰球、冰壶、滑冰等冰上运动。
