Beijing's new regulations for autonomous vehicles will take effect on April 1, 2025. The regulations, passed by the Standing Committee of Beijing Municipal People's Congress, support autonomous vehicles being used as personal vehicles as well as city buses and other urban mobility vehicles.
《北京市自动驾驶汽车条例》近日由市十六届人大常委会第十四次会议表决通过，将于今年4月1日施行。根据条例，本市支持自动驾驶汽车用于个人乘用车、城市公共汽电车、城市运行保障等出行服务。列入汽车产品目录并符合国家规定条件的自动驾驶汽车，可以用于个人乘用车出行。
故宫北院区预计今年10月份竣工

Construction of a new branch of the Palace Museum will be completed in October this year. Located in the north part of Beijing's Haidian District, the new museum will have 12 high-tech exhibition halls with a total exhibition area of 35,000 square meters. The number of exhibits will reach 20,000 to 30,000 annually.
故宫北院区项目是国家“十四五”规划重大文化设施、中央和国家机关重点建设的特大型综合类博物馆，预计今年10月份竣工。目前，项目正处于主体结构施工阶段。故宫博物院北院区建成后，会有12个依托高科技现代化技术的展厅，大概35000平方米的展厅面积，展览展出条件将得到根本性的改善和提升。在北院区建成以后，每年展出的文物的数量会达到2万到3万件。

元旦假期北京重点商圈客流增长7.8%
Total sales volume on New Year's Day of various enterprises monitored by the Beijing’s Municipal Bureau of Commerce, including department stores, supermarkets, specialty stores, restaurants, and e-commerce platforms, reached 1.22 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 31.5%. Foot traffic in 60 key business districts in the Chinese capital surpassed 8 million, a year-on-year increase of 7.8%.
2025年元旦假期，北京市商务局重点监测的百货、超市、专业专卖店、餐饮和电商等业态企业实现销售额12.2亿元，同比增长31.5%。全市60个重点商圈客流量805.9万人次，同比增长7.8%。

首届北京滑雪登山公开赛开赛
On January 1, the "New Year Climbing - 2025 First Beijing Ski Mountaineering Open" kicked off at the National Alpine Skiing Center. More than 100 people from all walks of life participated in the event. They started from the bottom of the China National Alpine Skiing Center and climbed to the highest point of the mountain. The climb is about 5 kilometers long and 600 meters high.

Beijing Daxing International Airport served 49.4167 million passengers in 2024, a year-on-year increase of 25.41%. The airport currently serves 66 airlines, 60 of which are passenger airlines and 6 cargo airlines. In 2024, the airport opened several new international routes to Sydney, Melbourne, Sapporo, Almaty and Bishkek.

2024年北京口岸出入境人数达1827万人次
The total number of entries and exits recorded in Beijing's ports in 2024 reached 18.27 million, up 90% year-on-year. Among them, 4.84 million foreigners entered and exited Beijing's ports throughout the year, up 125% year-on-year.
2024年，北京口岸出入境人员量突破1800万人次，达到1827万人次，同比分别增长90%。其中，全年入出境外国人484万人次，同比增长约125%。
