"Start Here, Nanshan" 国际青年迎新季

On August 19, Peking University HSBC Business School (PHBS) was bustling with new international students. Around 80 students completed their registration, getting ready for their journey in Shenzhen. Staffs of Taoyuan Service Center for Expats (TYSCE) provided assistance throughout the registration process: registration instruction, campus card and SIM card applications, dormitory check-in... Translation services had enabled that international students finished all the procedures in a short period of time.

8月22日，清华大学深圳国际研究生院再添国际色彩，38名国际新生报到成功！学生们来自五大洲的19个国家，带着各自的梦想汇聚一堂。桃源街道境外人员服务站为新生们准备的“新生入境礼包”令人惊喜连连，从深圳市服务便利化指南到南山区外籍人士服务手册，从街道人才服务平台宣传册到南山区创意手绘地图，这些资料为留学生们提供了在深求学、生活、工作所需的实用信息和服务资讯。

On August 22, 38 international students from 19 different countries registered at Tsinghua Shenzhen International Graduate School (SIGS). TYSCE had prepared an “information package” for every new student, which included Foreigners’ Guide to Shenzhen, Nanshan Service Manual for Expats, brochures introducing talent service platforms in the area, and a creative Nanshan hand-drawn map. Those materials were packed with practical information expats may need in Shenzhen.

9月10日-11日，哈尔滨工业大学（深圳）迎来“国际大军团”，近680位国际新生齐聚校园。桃源街道境外人员服务站全程护航，不仅为新生们提供了迎新指引、文件翻译等服务，还进行了国际化城区宣传，希望通过细致周到的服务和支持，帮助国际新生更快适应新的学习环境，增进对南山的了解，为未来的学习和生活打好基础。

In mid-September, registration and orientation activities continued. On September 10 and 11, Harbin Institute of Technology, Shenzhen (HITSZ) welcomed around 680 new international students. TYSCE offered translation services on site, and distributed brochures to promote Nanshan and Shenzhen, with an aim to help new students adapt to their life in campus, and better integrate into local communities and cultures.

9月7日，由南山区委外办、桃源街道、清华大学深圳国际研究生院主办的“Nice to ‘Sea’ U 青年看湾区”迎新活动暨《南山区外籍人士服务手册》发布会在深圳大学城国际会议中心举办，吸引了近80名外籍新生的参与。《南山区外籍人士服务手册》为外籍人士提供了在南山衣食住行的必备服务信息，它的正式发布进一步拓展国际人才服务领域，彰显着南山区建设更开放包容、更富创新活力、更显人文关怀的国际化城区的决心。随后，外籍新生们乘坐大湾区二号邮轮打卡港珠澳大桥，在海上感受南山魅力与活力的同时收获了满满的友谊和回忆。

On September 7, “Nice to ‘Sea’ U” Freshman Welcome Event and the Launching Ceremony of Nanshan Service Manual for Expats were held at Shenzhen University Town International Conference Center. The event was hosted by Shenzhen Nanshan District Foreign Affairs Bureau, Taoyuan Sub-district Office, and Tsinghua SIGS, with around 80 international participants. The Nanshan Service Manual for Expats was compiled to provide useful information for international Nanshan residents, aiming to better serve international talents in the area. The release of the manual has demonstrated Nanshan’s commitment to building itself into a more open, inclusive, innovative, and human-centered international community. Following the ceremony, participants boarded cruise ship, and saw Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macau Bridge in close-up view. They enjoyed the sea view and formed close friendships during the cruise trip.

9月13日，哈尔滨工业大学（深圳）举行2024年国际学生入学典礼暨入学教育，开展国际学生安全教育宣讲活动。桃源街道高度重视高校留学生的管理和发展工作，不余遗力支持学校入学典礼和教育讲座进行。此外，街道还将持续通过桃源街道境外人员服务站等人才服务平台为国际新生们提供全方位支持和服务。

On September 13, HITSZ held 2024 International Student Orientation and a legal lecture. Taoyuan places great importance on international student management and has spared no effort to support the school. Additionally, Taoyuan will continue to provide comprehensive services for international students.

9月14日，国际青年人才集市热闹开场，500名国际青年于哈尔滨工业大学（深圳）欢乐集结！本次“Start Here, Nanshan”迎新季系列—国际青年人才集市活动由南山区委组织部（区人才工作局）、桃源街道办事处主办，从传统文化到涉外服务，从健康教育到高校社团，一场文化盛宴让国际青年们赞叹不已。在享受多样活动的同时，参与者们得以近距离接触和了解中国传统文化习俗，激发对中国传统文化的喜爱与热情，友谊的小船也在这里起航！

On September 14, International Youth Fair kicked off, gathering 500 international young students at HITSZ. Hosted by the Organization Department of the CPC Nanshan District Committee (Nanshan District Talent Affairs Bureau) and Taoyuan Sub-district Office, the event featured a cultural feast, leaving visitors in awe. It had included various elements, such as traditional Chinese folk cultures, foreign-related services, health knowledge, clubs, etc. While enjoying themselves in the fair, visitors had the opportunities to make traditional Chinese handicrafts, learning more about Chinese culture. They were also able to meet new friends at the fair.

桃源街道的迎新季系列服务和活动，不仅让国际青年感受到了深圳的热情与友好，更给予了他们一份别样的温暖和归属感，赋予“留学深圳”品牌更加闪亮的意义。桃源街道正在用行动擦亮这张名片，努力让每一位国际青年都能在这里书写属于自己的精彩篇章！

The welcoming services and event series have showcased the hospitality of Shenzhen, providing international young people with a sense of belonging. Those efforts have made “study in Shenzhen” a more trending topic. Active actions have also been taken to offer good study abroad experience for international students. It is hoped that every international talent can achieve their full potential in this thriving city.
