Autumn

Introduction Language

In the first stage of this semester, we read three books. They are The Unknown Lincoln, Steve Jobs, and What I know for Sure. All students actively participated in this stage presentation and presented us with many excellent works.

The Unknown Lincoln

Introduction to the work

Our program focus on Lincoln speech art and make a comparison with Churchill and Martin Luther Kim's. We surrounded speaking skills, such as rhetorical devices, emotional resonance and textual logic. After this project, we also gain more insights about Lincoln's personalities.























Teacher Evaluation

The speaker's voice is loud and passionate. The PPT is concise and elegant, with a focus on highlighting key points. There are videos to make the presentation more vivid.But the PPT has too much text and the content is not very focused.

The Unknown Lincoln

Introduction to the work

Our project mainly analyzes the three elements that led to Lincoln's tragic marriage, including Lincoln's perspective, Mary's perspective, and external factors. Through these analyses, we can better understand the unknown Lincoln.






















Teacher Evaluation

There is a connection between members, and the structure and key points of the PPT are clear and concise. But there are too many small gestures from the speaker, and the logic of the work is slightly flawed.

The Unknown Lincoln &What I know for Sure

Introduction to the work

The theme of our group is to discuss human coping methods in the face of difficulties from the level of psychology and sociology, using the biography of Lincoln and the biography of Oprah as examples.Learn to stay positive in the face of difficulties.






















Teacher Evaluation

The cutting of the topic is very interesting, the pronunciation is clear, and the PPT is concise. But next time, I suggest that some students take the stage to give lectures instead of using micro lessons, and some of the text on the PPT is too small to be clear.

The Unknown Lincoln 

Introduction to the work

Our group introduced the MBTI in a relatively interesting way, which better attracted students' attention, and further discussed Lincoln's depression in a deeper level, and deeply explored the causes, manifestations and effects of depression. Also let us deeply understand that even great people, there is a hidden side, we should face up to their shortcomings and look at it from a positive perspective.






















Teacher Evaluation

The intonation and voice are very good, the cohesion is free, the PPT is classical and beautiful, the body language is appropriate, and the keywords are prominent.

The Unknown Lincoln 

Introduction to the work

Our group wanted to highlight the characteristics of the new biography【fictionality虚构性】 by introducing the different images of Mary in the new biography and Mary in the traditional biography.

There is too much words on one page of our group's PPT, and the focus is not obvious, so we will choose a smaller point for in-depth discussion next time.






















Teacher Evaluation

The PPT is concise, highlights the key points, the voice intonation is good, and the overall structure is complete, but there is no interaction with the audience, and there is too much PPT text

Autumn

summary

In the first stage reading project presentation, we showcased our exploration of biographies through PPT. We delved into the lives of remarkable individuals, gaining insights into their struggles and achievements. The vivid presentations allowed us to understand different historical periods and cultures. It was a journey of discovery, enhancing our knowledge and critical thinking. We shared our thoughts and analyses, sparking discussions and a deeper appreciation for the power of biographical literature.
