Indonesia to offer tax rebate for Chinese automakers

Indonesia plans to offer tax rebates for Chinese automakers BYD and GAC Aion to promote local production and sales of electric vehicles, Kallanish learns.
印尼工业部长Agus Gumiwang Kartasasmita表示，从2025年起，对这些中国公司将免征进口税，并降低15%的奢侈品销售税率。
Agus Gumiwang Kartasasmita, Indonesia’s industry minister, says that from 2025, these Chinese companies will be exempted from import taxes and a reduced luxury sales tax rate of 15%.
同时，雅加达将对混合动力汽车减税3%。目前，混合动力汽车的奢侈品税从6%到12%不等，而纯电动汽车则享受多项优惠政策，包括0%的奢侈品税。
At the same time, Jakarta will reduce taxes on hybrid vehicles by 3%. Currently, hybrid vehicles are subject to a luxury tax ranging from 6% to 12%, while battery electric vehicles enjoy several incentives, including a 0% luxury goods tax.
两家中国汽车制造商均表示将致力于在印尼建立生产厂。
The two Chinese carmakers have expressed commitment to establishing manufacturing plants in Indonesia.
在年初举行的比亚迪品牌发布会上，印尼经济事务协调部长Airlangga Hartarto透露，比亚迪已签署谅解备忘录，承诺投资13亿美元在印尼建设其第五家海外汽车工厂。
At BYD’s brand launch conference at the beginning of the year, Indonesia’s coordinating minister for economic affairs Airlangga Hartarto revealed that BYD had signed an MOU pledging to invest $1.3 billion to build its fifth overseas automobile factory in Indonesia.
今年4月，比亚迪宣布已与梳邦智能城市工业园开发商PT Suryabuat Swadaya签署合作协议，将在该工业园内建设印尼汽车工厂。
In April, BYD announced it had signed a cooperation agreement with PT Suryabuat Swadaya, the developer of the Subang Smartpolitan Industrial Park, to build its Indonesian automobile factory in the park.
比亚迪计划在该地区建立一个全面的电动汽车生态系统，包括一个研发中心和配备最新节能环保技术的培训设施。该工厂预计将于2024年底动工，2026年1月投产，年产能将达到15万辆。
BYD plans to establish a comprehensive EV ecosystem in this area, including a research and development centre and training facilities equipped with the latest energy-saving and environmental protection technologies. The factory is expected to start construction at the end of 2024 and will be put into production in January 2026, with an annual production capacity of 150,000 vehicles.
广汽埃安此前宣布将在印尼西爪哇的Cikampek建一座工厂，在2025年第一季度之前进行电动汽车组装和电池生产。
GAC Aion, meanwhile, has previously announced that it will construct a plant in Cikampek, West Java, Indonesia, for EV assembly and battery production by the first quarter of 2025.

The Indonesian EV market is expected to expand steadily in this decade. In 2022, it was valued at approximately $533 million. By 2029, it is projected to reach $2 billion, driven by a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 20.96%, according to ASEAN Briefing.
到2025年，印尼的目标是电动汽车保有量达到40万辆，其中20%由本地制造。到2030年，目标将提高到220万辆。
By 2025, Indonesia aims to have 400,000 EVs on the road, with 20% of these being manufactured locally. By 2030, the target will be increased to 2.2 million EVs.
法国雪铁龙公司也将获得退税。
France’s Citroen will also be given the tax rebates.
