Saudi-Lebanon deal roils Mid-East rebar market

Saudi Arabia's west coast mill concluded a 5,000-tonne rebar export deal last week at $515/tonne fob (SAR 1,931) Jazan port, or at $540-545/t cfr Lebanon. The material is expected to be delivered in the first week of January, Kallanish confirms from multiple sources.
上周，沙特阿拉伯最低的方坯价格为感应炉钢厂生产的130毫米3sp材料出厂价2,030沙特里亚尔/吨（541美元），而利雅得和西海岸的螺纹钢出厂价为2,180-2,200沙特里亚尔/吨（581-587美元）。以上价格均为现金支付。
The lowest billet price in Saudi Arabia was at SAR 2,030/t ($541) ex-works last week from induction furnace mills for 130mm 3sp material, while rebar was at SAR 2,180-2,200/t ($581-587) ex-works in Riyadh and the west coast. Prices are against cash payment.
一位钢厂高管说：“无论是埃及、卡塔尔、阿尔及利亚、俄罗斯还是土耳其的钢厂，都无法达到这个螺纹钢价格（540-545美元/吨cfr黎巴嫩），但几乎所有人都知道，这是一次性交易，不可能再以这个价格成交。”
"Neither Egyptian, Qatari, Algerian, Russian nor Turkish mills can match this rebar price [$540-545/t cfr Lebanon], but almost everyone knows that this is a one-off deal and that another deal at this price is not possible," a senior mill official says.
本周黎巴嫩市场的螺纹钢报价为560-565美元/吨cfr，埃及产品的报价为580-585美元/吨cfr，相当于560-565美元/吨fob埃及，而卡塔尔1月份发货的螺纹钢报价为520美元/吨fob或570-575美元/吨cfr。
Rebar offers are heard in the Lebanese market this week at $560-565/t cfr, with Egyptian product at $580-585/t cfr, equating to $560-565/t fob Egypt, while quotes from Qatar are at $520/t fob or $570-575/t cfr, for January shipment.
黎巴嫩一位贸易人士说：“黎巴嫩和叙利亚的重建将耗资巨大，需要包括钢铁产品在内的大量建筑材料。在黎巴嫩市场上，螺纹钢供应商之间已经存在激烈的竞争。”
"The reconstruction of Lebanon and Syria will be costly and a lot of building materials will be needed including steel products. There is stiff competition between the rebar suppliers already in the Lebanese market," comments a trading source in Lebanon.
